Jumper was flying his canopy in for landing then it appears the canopy may have collapsed in turbulence during a speed inducing turn. More details are needed for this incident.

The following scam has been reported: Click here to read more about these kind of scams. Remember: DO NOT do business with anyone who offers to send you payment for a higher amount than your selling price with the understanding that you'll send back the balance. Be suspicious of anyone claiming to be acting on behalf of a "client" or another "customer". Be suspicious of anyone claiming to be from Nigeria or West Africa If you agree to accept a check payment, then do not send anything, gear or "change" before the check cleared. And be careful, if you manage to clear a fraudulent check then you may be liable for the damages if the bank finds out later. Make sure your bank authenticates the check. If it sounds to good to be true, then it probably is.This username has been disabled. Safe swoops Sangiro -
Student was AFF level 10 (solo). He exited unstable from 5000ft. The instructor (in the aircraft) observed the student deploy his main parachute after falling for 5 seconds and immediately cutaway. No reserve was observed to open. At the site o

From the little experience I have I can tell you that if you add the first 3 on this list, the last 2 will take care of itself. Safe swoops Sangiro

The fact that I posted is worth nothing. What I posted was worth 5 bucks. Your problem seem to be that you don't understand the difference. Take a little time out. Safe swoops Sangiro

"n00b" is a climbing reference. It's a called a "whuffo" in skydiving. Odds are good that if you jump this a few times, you will die. Do you have any other questions? Safe swoops Sangiro

....and the reason for that is because you didn't contact me before making a post soliciting money and donations. Then, after a moderator explained that policy, you went ahead and (again without asking or waiting for a reply from the PM you sent me) started a new thread. The internet being rife with scams, and I'm not questioning your sincerity or motives, you can imagine the slippery slope if anyone were allowed to simply ask for money for whatever cause they deem worthy in these forums. I am sorry to hear about your friend. I've sent you another PM. Safe swoops Sangiro

Jumper was doing a demo into a large outdoor dance party from a helicopter at approx 2700 feet, this was his 2nd or 3rd such jump into this event. He wore his wingsuit and backflew most of the freefall with a second person. He opened his canopy at a low a

Heya all, Wanted to thank you guys for a great 2006 and for being a cool crowd. Looking forward to a lot of fun on the site in the coming year. I rarely share personal stuff on the forums but thought it would be appropriate to introduce you to Anmarie. She showed up this morning (new years) at 5:30 am. She has dimples that will melt your heart. Mom and baby are healthy and happy. I hope your 2007 will end up being at least half as amazing as mine already is.

Jumper was doing a 270 degree turn and while most the way though it reaized he was going to collide with another canopy in front of him. He then continued the turn 180 degrees to miss the other jumper but ended up with a canopy that was still diving at th

Heya all, This post in the announcement forums about users impersonating others was triggered by user base_rigger who posted primarily to this forum. Base_rigger claimed to be a rigger called Don Cribs. While Don is in fact a rigger at the DZ he mentioned, we've spoken to the real Don Cribs on the phone, and it isn't him posting from an IP of a college in upstate NY. (Yes, we know who you are.) Base_rigger has proceeded to insult and attack several people on this forum (on here and via PM), sowing enmity between them and Don. The real Don Cribs deserves to have his name cleared, and those of you who have been on the receiving end of base_rigger's PMs, should not harbor any ill feelings against Don. I have disabled the username base_rigger. I have also disabled the usernames of Magot and Swooper120 who "vouched" for base_rigger. (We contacted both of them.) If you want to play these kind of juvenile, insulting and malicious games, please go find somewhere else to do so. Safe swoops Sangiro

Hey all, A quick note to state our policy on users impersonating other people on Dropzone.com. We do not require anyone to provide their real name when signing up for an account on Dropzone.com, nor when completing your profile in the forums. Users have every opportunity to be anonymous on this site and we accept that with all the good and evil that comes with it. We understand that accountability walks out the back door as anonymity walks in the front. Combine that with the right amount of malice and a fake personality of someone who doesn't know about your antics on here, and the offender has the ability to do a lot of damage. More so if the "personality" the user assumed is actually that of an existing person or skydiver. Dropzone.com has a zero tolerance policy against people impersonating others. Whether this is done in zest or to circumvent a ban (as has happened recently), when it comes to our attention we will remove your posting privileges and do whatever it takes to ensure you do not have access to this site again. There's much fun to be had without burning bridges in this manner. Don't do this. Back to the fun stuff!

Dude - you've sent me a bunch of PMs about "kicking in the door" if "that's the best I've got". Honestly, I have absolutely no idea what the hell you're on about. If you want to leave... just don't log in again. If you want to have your username disabled, just say so. If you're drunk, step away from the keyboard because you're about to do stupid shit that you're going to regret tomorrow. Safe swoops Sangiro

A quick note to welcome Ian Drennan (ianmdrennan) on board as a moderator. Ian has agreed to help fill the gap left by Chuck's departure. As most of you know the dude has some swooping and freeflying skills so he'll start out in those forums. Be nice to him!

Heya all, Just short of 4 years ago I ran an article that Skymama wrote about Sergeant First Class Charles W. Blue II retiring from the Army. Now SkymonkeyONE has decided to hang up his boots as Dropzone.com moderator as well. Chuck has been a moderator for as long as I can remember. He has seen Dropzone.com go through many iterations and changes and his contributions to this site are simply too many to jot down. A huge thank you for your time and input over the years brother. I know there are many people here who have benefited from your years of skydiving experience. You know where to get touch if you find yourself with too much free time on your hands. Here's to you buddy. Safe swoops Sangiro

We've changed the headline on our article to remove the mention of Mirage. Our apologies to them for contributing to this confusion. We've also included the full text (no images) from the service bulletin in our article and, while Dropzone.com will not edit the subject of the formal service bulletin, we do think it can be misleading and have added the following Editors Note at the bottom of the article: Safe swoops Sangiro
