If that's true then I bet you're REAL popular with the ladies. Yes. Hot ones. I'll post a picture of them and let you vote which one is the hottest. "¯"`-._.-¯) ManBird (¯-._.-´"¯" Click

I think the Sabre2 has the widest "range" of any canopy out there. I jumped a Sabre for about 400 jumps and then the slightly smaller Sabre2 for 300 jumps. Basically, if the Sabre2 was out 2.5 years ago and I had it to do over again, I would have bought that and would have been happy with it for 700 jumps. You can learn everything on this canopy because it does everything. Basic maneuvers right on up to 300' downwind shreds on rear risers, followed by a nice shut down. The openings are awesome (note that there is no grabbing of risers on the first opening in the video). Nice and soft and on-heading. If you do get line twists, it still flies straight (as evidenced in the video). Perfect wingsuit canopy for those who want worry-free openings, but still want to shred. Don't ever let anyone tell you this is a docile canopy. "¯"`-._.-¯) ManBird (¯-._.-´"¯" Click

Those artsy-fartsy photographers are so fickle. You should of pulled the edgy approach on her and told her to just shut up and do it HAHAHAHAA!!! You've found me out! My edginess is all fake! And she wasn't being artsy-fartsy. It was more like drunky-wunky. "¯"`-._.-¯) ManBird (¯-._.-´"¯" Click

I posted this over in the wingsuit forum, but I figure it applies here, as well. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1254043#1254043 "¯"`-._.-¯) ManBird (¯-._.-´"¯" Click

Send your wife on a canyon tour, and she can watch you jump on the way back in (just be uber careful on that one). Then you get in the boat with her -- good to go. Call Don at Snake River Canyon Tours (he's also the guy that picks us up): 208 934 8245 "¯"`-._.-¯) ManBird (¯-._.-´"¯" Click

Don't think I didn't regret that afterwards. It wasn't until it was too late that I thought that exact same thing. There are only so many pictures my girlfriend will take of me grabbing my crotch -- she wasn't up for a re-shoot. I wanted to do one with the hood, all ninja-ed out, holding a big kitchen knife, having a fake knife fight with my older, very conservative looking downstairs neighbor. He wasn't home and he probably wouldn't be up for it, but hopefully you can get the same visual I had. "¯"`-._.-¯) ManBird (¯-._.-´"¯" Click

Good thing I don't date jumpers. I'd be in some hot water. I think my girlfriend had the right view of my post. "Hey, that's mean! ... But it's also really funny." That's the dead-on realistic way to look at it. Posting pictures of your opposing gender friends and setting up a poll on how "hot" they are is just as shallow, immature, and disrespectful as poking fun at them. Making such a post and thinking that you are not warranting some muck is a makjor oversight. Yes, "makjor". And remember: This is a message board. It's like watching TV, only we get to write the script. Here, maybe this will help:

Well, after all the great times I had on my Sabre2, I've put it up for sale. This is an excellent canopy, but it's time to move on. When you get the chance, please take a minute (57 seconds, actually) to help me celebrate and bid farewell to my trusty old Sabre2 107. What a great canopy. Are you trying to correct some of that full-extension shakiness the S1 can get? Just put a piece of duct tape there. "¯"`-._.-¯) ManBird (¯-._.-´"¯" Click

I got stuck waiting and, you know how it goes, picked up the nearest magazine and thumbed it. I realized how much I hate magazines -- especially the "Gen-X" ones. But I also like irony, so I've decided to present my Phoenix Fly suit in the form of my most abhorred magazine page layouts. I hope you will find these entertaining and informative, and for God's sake, don't take them seriously. The Hipster Ad Think iPod. Think Sony. Think 24 to 36 year old male. This is the only one of the bunch that offers any information. It's a soft sell for the consumer that likes to make an informed decision. The Hip-Hop Fashion Page Get yo fly on! This suit has as much fashion as it does function. Dope! If you've opened up a magazine that tries to sell lifestyle through fashion, then you'll get the humor in this. The Edgey Article I'm sick of magazines trying to edgey. Trying to swear left and right and be controversial to make 15 year old girls giggle. Well, I'm all about making teens giggle. What? Note my girlfriend's "wingsuit" off to the right. She made that.

There are a good half dozen hotties in there. Then again, maybe I just had my "Idaho goggles" on at the end of the weekend. "¯"`-._.-¯) ManBird (¯-._.-´"¯" Click

Why doesn't your canopy fall straight down? Well... yours does. Because a lot of your lift comes from your forward speed. You could fall straight down with a good 80MPH - 100MPH headwind. Maybe you could head to Iceland and give this a shot. The "land a wingsuit" discussion has been done to death. Go read some posts in this forum about it. If and when it happens, water won't be required. Until then, we'll just keep using our parachutes. "¯"`-._.-¯) ManBird (¯-._.-´"¯" Click

Most people drop for a few seconds before deploying. Even opening in full flight, your canopy opens about the same, just on a different path. You get put on your back a bit, that's it. I usually dump in full flight (but I have a deployment system built for it), and sometimes see the ground over the nose of my canopy.

I geared up and took pictures last night. I'm at work right now, but I'll crop and comment when I get the chance. Oh, heck yeah. BASE is the harsher environment, IMO. Any gear that can stand up to BASE can stand up to skydiving. It's a fairly thick ZP with some parts tougher than other (where needed) and all sorts of re-enforcement everywhere. Robi built some pretty tough over at BirdMan. On my BASE Pantz, I eventually had a tiny tear in the mesh, that's it. The mesh on these pants is tough as can be. It feels almost like chicken wire. There's no way the mesh will tear on here unless it is done very deliberately. Are you hooking it up to the top of your shoe, or near your toe? It should be near your toe. Did you notice that the bootie is adjustable? In which slot did you put the card? I have mine in the second slot and connect it to the end of my shoe. I wear the pants just above my hips, like any other pants. And these are definitely very large -- I ordered them that way on purpose. They're adjustable enough to keep them from being too big. Definitely. In fact, you should have no issue fitting protective gear under the suit. It folds up nicely, so it's easy to pack away. Then you just put on the jacket (which will fit over your clothes very easily). Then put on the rig. Then unzip the legs and fly on the pants to easily put them on without removing your shoes or any protective wear. I did order my suit a bit on the big side. I would avoid butt slides, as I did with my BirdMan Pantz (which are all ZP on the back). And taking these pants on a tandem would undoubtedly send the pair into a noticeable track. I'll be taking these from a plane and a high subterminal object this weekend. "¯"`-._.-¯) ManBird (¯-._.-´"¯" Click

HAHAHHAHAH!!! "I did everything right, I swear! My legs just... broke." Oh, man. That's good stuff. I love these DGITs. The best is when they pound in and think about downsizing on the next jump. Or another good one, "I need something with a longer recovery arc to give me more time to stab out." WTF?! HAHAAHHAA! Kids, get a clue, please. "¯"`-._.-¯) ManBird (¯-._.-´"¯" Click -
Katana. Especially if you're flying a Stiletto right now. It will have everything you like about a Stiletto, improvements upon those aspects, and a LONG recovery arc. Beware -- the sucker dives. Demo one and do high pulls. Edit: I just noticed your jump numbers. Try tripling those before moving on to a Katana. I also just noticed this: I know someone who thought getting a canopy with a longer recovery arc would fix his various turn altitude issues, so he downsized and had a hardass PLF (parachute lands first). Seriously, do another 500 - 600 jumps on your current canopy before moving to anything in the class of canopies you are mentioning. A Stiletto is already too aggressive for 245 jumps. I was really impressed by the opening. The Rock Dragon is on the left in this video: http://www.deepart.org/files/RockDragon.wmv The symmetry and heading are perfect. It's just nose, tail, and a tiny breath -- I had to go frame by frame on the video to really note any stages. Not sure what's on the right, but you can see a major difference in how hard it "breathes" after the initial inflation. "¯"`-._.-¯) ManBird (¯-._.-´"¯" Click
