Herniated Disc. Which canopy??

Just want to confirm what other Spectre owners are saying about their openings. I've got a Spectre also and have never had a hard opening. It has always been consistent with a 600 foot snivel and generally on heading. I'd recommend that canopy. -
I'm guessing it is something like this. A lot of conventional explosives contains some heavy metals which can show up on an x-ray image. It is difficult but that can be replaced with organic peroxide compounds that aren't detectible with x-ray. It would take an MRI to see that, and airport scanners don't have those yet. This ban must indicate they terrorist have figured this out well enough to get past x-rays. Let's hope this ban doesn't spread or airline travel is really going to suck.

Flynn was paid $500,000 by and acting as a foreign agent for Turkey while at the same time getting top secret classified briefings as part of the Trump campaign. Flynn never should have been on the NSC. And in time I think we will learn the Steve Bannon shouldn't be on the National Security Council either.

It's totally fair to look into allegations of Russia influencing the election. He shouldn't be upset or even surprised by this. Trump's tweets are what you would call "narcissistic rage". If anything threatens a narcissist's self images they lash out others without considering if it is just or even true. All that matters in that moment is preserving their own ego. I've dealt with people like this in my personal life. You cannot change them, or even be patient with them. All you can really do is get them out of our life to preserver yourself. Unfortunately we as a nation with a deeply narcissistic president cannot so easily walk away from this. After the speech a few days ago, I was hoping Trump was pivoting to a more sane stance. But with these tweets, I've completely lost hope. It is going to be a rough 4 years.

My Spectre 170 is very consistent with a 600 foot snivel, and isn't snappy at all. If someone at your DZ has Spectra jump theirs and see if it feels different. If so, have it looked at. Don't let little problems fester, this is the device that saves your life every time you jump.

As the poster above stated VX can be delivered as a binary agent, and the second attacker did in fact get sick. It is lucky perhaps that none of the medical people dealing with Kim Jong Nam got sick. If they were wearing medical gloves perhaps that was enough.

Apparently Harward didn't take the job because he wanted Steve Bannon (a political advisor with questionable security clearance credentials) removed from the National Security Council. http://www.msnbc.com/all-in/watch/exclusive-trump-presser-convinced-nsc-candidate-harward-to-decline-879994947802 Flynn clearly should not have been there either. Flynn might have been removed for political reasons, but had in the past been investigated for leaking confidential information by none other that General Mattis. His consulting firm with Russia and Turkey raised further concerns. Allowing Steve Bannon on the NSC is the most disconcerting thing Trump has done, IMHO.

Well you can now add shrimp to things that I've cooked with this. Shrimp and eggs are now the best things done with sous vide. The marinate just goes right into the shrimp, I added just a little bit of baking soda to the marinate which did wonders for the result. I'm working my way up to that lobster recipe.

Add about 1/8 tsp of baking powder in the water. Makes the egg shells slide right off the cooked eggs. Your right this works!! Amazing.

Well, this is a good sign. It is critical to have trustworthy people dealing with our security and secrets. Flynn's actions have demonstrated that wasn't that. Now just need to get Bannon off the NSC. And get that Android phone away from Trump. Gary Kasparov is an opinion I respect. Some follow-up: I bought the Joules sous vide about two weeks ago. I've been using this for eggs, and have done chicken, stake and pork in it. I've learned a lot and am still dialing in meat recipes in it. My observations so far. Using this to cook breakfast eggs is the best! Raman-style eggs can be cooked in about 8 minutes. And the best part. Since this is controlled from a phone app, you can start heating the water without leaving your bed. When the water is ready you get a notification on the phone. Only then do you get up, get an egg or two out of the fridge and put it in for 8 minutes. That 8 minutes can then be used preparing side dishes. Only down-side is peeling the egg afterwards is a pain in the butt, compared to just scrambling the eggs. I've been doing my own version of a healthy low-carb breakfast burrito. It tastes better than scrambled egg version and doesn't take much more time. (I just need a better way to peel the egg shells). My first attempt at pork, chicken and steak were all really good. As good as anything without sous vide, but I can do better. I've done two meals by starting it at work. The chick and pork, which I still need to dial in. While I like the idea of starting a meal from work, practically speaking you want it cooking for 6-8 hours, not 2 hours. And since I'm not completely controlling the start temp I've over cooked a little on first two tries. I'll look for longer slower cooking recipes to make that option work. I also try getting a better cut of meat than what you get from Safeway. Not I'm going to try shrimp, but my real goal is to eventually do a lobster recipe. Maybe something like this. http://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2016/12/sous-vide-lobster-recipe.html And who ever mention the "Food Labs" book, yep. I'm planning on getting that soon. Oh.. And one more thing. We skydivers have the upper hand when getting the air out of these cooking bags. It's just a mini version of getting the air out of your parachute. :)

It would definitely increase the number of people you could cook for since the sous vide is really just a precision temperature control device for water. (The reason so many things are boiled, us you can precisely keep water at the boiling point and the the only variable in cooking is time.) A cooler would be nice for a large cook out where you use the grill to finish off a steak. But in that environment you'd be dealing with comments from the peanut gallery about how "your not doing it right". It is overkill if your just at home cooking for yourself like I am.

Within this administration we need to be rooting for Pompeo (CIA) and Gen. Mattis (Defense Dept) to keep things sane. Bannon being on the National Security Council (NSC) is the scariest thing I've ever heard. He took the Joint Chief of Staff's slot. NSC should be non-partisan and for "adults only". Only people that deal with and can handle facts should be there. Everything else that Trump has done pales in comparison to that choice.

My maternal grandparents deserve mention here. I don't know if it was "love at first sight", but what I observed as a grand-child between them was was a lasting love and long-term devotion that we don't see much of any more. My grandparents were a strong couple that when not working on the farm liked to camp and visit national parks. They travelled a lot. Then one day, when I was a teenager, my grandmother had a massive stroke. She almost died and it effected the entire left side of her body. She couldn't talk for 6 months, and couldn't walk for a year. In a walker for another few year, and never walked without a cain, or someones arm again. She also never used her left arm/hand again, and balance and dexterity of he entire body was gone. She was never the same physically. The travel to national parks ended, nor anywhere more than a few hours away. My grandfather still strong and farming full time, became her primary care giver. In the morning he would make breakfast then help her get dressed. She loved to cook, but it was impossible to do many things, so he became her arms - always chopping/cutting/washing anything that needed it under her direction. He never letting her take anything near the stove, since the chance of falling over was too great. He did this for her for decades. He was completely devoted to her. We all know they both missed the travel and it was just an assumption - openly talked about that she would pass away before him. (She was so frail every year seemed like the last, and he was strong and still farming at age 70) They would both talk about how after she passed, he would then be free to travel again, to see the national parks they hadn't seen for decades and fly and visit all the grandkids where they lived spread out across the U.S, and even outside the U.S. But one day they were both home alone. According to my grandmother's account. He was sitting quietly in his chair then suddenly he got up, grabbed the car keys and said to her "I'm going to the store, I'll be gone for a while". He kissed her on the cheek and went quickly out the door without looking back. He never returned. Instead he drove the car around the corner and parked in a younger neighbor's driveway in a spot where she could not see it from the house. It was there that he passed away, likely from a heart attack. We all know why he did it. He knew something was happening to his heart and didn't what to pass-away in front of her. She would have panicked, would not have know what to do and out in the country it would have been a long time before help could arrive. Instead his final act of love/devotion to her was to spare her the pain of seeing him pass away. Anything and everything he did until his last breath, it was for her.

Seth, I totally agree with you. When making something you need to understand the temp profile for the entire day. I keep my thermostat at 55 degrees when I'm way which recently means the temp inside has been about 62 inside. In the summer that will be different, and needs to be watched much more carefully. Also, I freeze the marinated meat and transfer it from the freezer to sous vide bag/underwater as quickly as possible. Two things I think that can be done on days when cooking remotely is put the pot of water in the refrigerator over night, and also use a bigger pot. Increasing the thermal mass - i.e. volume vs surface area - which should make the temperature increase slower. I'll try to gather some data to see how effective this is.
