  1. That would not be a pretty sight!
  2. OK guys, as I rapidly approach jump 100 I feel the need to mark the occasion with a slightly more special jump. Got any good ideas? Obviously I will be buying beer afterwards
  3. Thanks for the in depth reply, I get exactly what you're saying. I'm 6"1, I've ordered a symbiosis slopo suit today as I've got the chance to get on a 8 way speed team in a couple of weeks and will need it for that. The guy I spoke to at symbiosis knew his onions and I now have a suit made for my needs. At 80 jumps I need as much help from the suit as possible, next purchase is a freefly suit as I have got my sitflying sorted wearing shorts but my baggy ff-pants make it harder to hold the sit. Thanks for the help, I'll let you know what the suits like when it arrives!
  4. I'd have to cut off at least one leg to be 200lbs out the door!
  5. As a more robustly built jumper looking to buy (actually I need to buy) a slow falling FS suit can I get some opinions on which is best? I'm currently looking at Symbiosis' Slopo but I'm sure there's plenty of others that are as good or better? I fall so fast that I have to de-arch almost constantly whilst everyone else has to arch hard to keep up, I know going on a diet will help etc but I still need a suit that falls slow as I'm going to struggle to get below 200lbs ever!
  6. is there not an android app like there is for the iphone that transfers via wifi from the gopro to your phone?

    Let's see your.......

Skydiving related tattoos!! I'm trying to decide on a skydiving related tattoo, any good ones out there?
  8. 8 jumps, 4 from the top and 4 from 5k doing a canopy course. Got my CH2, JM1 and my B licence. Pretty much got my sitflying sorted, Also nailed 5 pre-declared landings in a row. Beer has been bought and drank! I've had worse weekends.
  9. There's very little argument for him still being in his position, this does clearly appear to be a "do as I say not as I do" scenario. On the other hand, is this chap irreplaceable and worth tolerating because he adds more than he takes away?
  10. Is there a device on the market that can be installed in a riser or D-bag maybe that transmits a signal so you can easily retrieve a chopped main that's landed in trees or been carried miles by strong uppers or similar? maybe a phone app that could work with it? Or have I broadcast a million dollar idea to the rest of the world?!
  11. Come to England, we have two roundabouts (Swindon and Hemel Hempstead) the have 6 roundabouts on them, that's right a roundabout with six roundabouts on it! Dropped Pin near Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire http://goo.gl/maps/Hx8oX
  12. I'm now wondering if it's worth suggesting adding a picture of a "nut under malfunction" to the collection of Mal pics on the wall in the training area at my DZ? Is there a similar Mal for the lady skydiver, maybe chest strap related issues? I would check the ladies area of the forum but it scares me in there!
  13. On a very recent jump I was moving down the seats of a twin otter and unbeknown to me managed to snag the bungee that keeps my leg straps together, said bungee extended itself considerably until it then decided to "release it's energy". My left nut took this reasonably well or so I thought but by then I had to leave said twin otter and had what I can only describe as the most uncomfortable freefall of my short but distinguished career. Be careful out there.
  14. did it actually take you nearly two years to ask her out?! Had I have known there were numerous smoking hot affi's in AZ i'd have done my aff there instead of vegas!!
  15. I did my AFF on a Nav 240, did about 20 jumps on it, my most recent 10 were on a 290.....
  16. I should also add that I was made to feel a lot better about my no wind landings when I watched at least 6 jumpers all from the same load of about 12 all of which were B licence or higher having to dust themselves off after not standing their landing up, I noticed that almost all of these people weren't flaring all the way and then falling forwards. I'm guessing this is caused by not "finishing" the flare?
  17. Thanks for the advice guys, the stains came out! In all seriousness though, I stood 3 out of 5 up yesterday in really light wind and to be honest I woosed out and PLF'd the other 2 right at the end when I know I could have run the first one out and stood up the second. I was going for accuracy yesterday and hit the same area every time (although with different parts of my body!) so I'm quite happy with my progress.
  18. ^ that And any port in a storm, if everyone's single, consenting and good to go, whats the worst that can happen?
  19. After a no wind landing today whilst flying a skymaster 290 (my DZ wont let me jump anything else as I weigh 224lbs, until I'm over 50 jumps) I have been left with terrible grass stains on my trousers can anyone give me some words of wisdom on this?
  20. Just the 3000 ft mark is a little intimidating. However my coach is going to run me thru and go with me for some moral support. I know I'll do just fine. I've had some great instructors and coaches so far. Seriously, don't sweat the hop and pop, just chill out, leave the door well, look up and find the plane before you pull. it's easy and you'll wonder why you were bothered by it.
  21. Hi, if you fancy jumping with a fellow noob from the UK I'll be at Perris from the 23rd of may for a week getting my numbers up! oh, welcome and well done too!!
  22. when I did may AFF a couple of months ago I managed to grab everything but my hacky when doing practice pulls, practice on the ground and on your way up and you'll be fine. I grabbed my instructors alti at least three times, then his wrist a couple of times too. I'm only 20 something jumps in now but don't even have to think about where it is, I just reach and it's where I'm putting my hand, it's all about muscle memory.
  23. 2 on Friday, weather and work spoiled the rest of the weekend, I have booked a trip to Perris for a week next month though so my numbers should rocket!
  24. Flights are booked, I'll be in Perris from the 23rd of may for a week, maybe I'll get to meet some of you?
