Be sure to give ZHills another chance too. That wasn't the best day to try to skydive, with the winds and hectic activity with the bigways going on. Many of the POPS jumpers that you met in LW jump regularly at ZHills, so you will see them again. There are lots of organizers and coaches at ZHills, and the usual cast of characters are a fun bunch. In reply to your signature's moral dilemma: Paul Simon's song "Mother and Child Reunion" was inspired by a chinese restaurant menu describing just that meal. In Japan, a chicken omelette over rice is called "OyaKo-Don", meaning 'parent and child'....not as colorful a name....but creative nonetheless... The question was should more BOB stickers be made. I think the cause is great. But to raise awareness, the sticker should address the issue better. Putting it on my car, no one will understand its message. There is nothing mentioning Swooping, or who Bob was, so your reply doesn't apply to the sticker itself. So, yes, make more stickers, but add a message about safety or the Bent Prop Organization or similar. Then when people read it they have a base for learning more about the message, and hopefully change their behavior in relation to it. marc

first nite this was posted I was able to watch 300. next nite I tried to watch Babel or a couple others and only one would load. Then I was able to watch Babel this evening. So I would guess that they work depending on server loads at the time.... (PS- I didn't think much of Babel....tried to hard to be timely and experimental. I have gotten my yellow belt in Six Sigma Lean, and my understanding is you need to use it on a project to get your Green Belt, at least in my company. So just taking the courses only works up to a point where that real world experience must take you to the final stages of Black Belts. I like what I have learned so far, yes, some of it is obvious to anyone with software engineering courses, but there are some great simple tools that are taught that can help in many situations to clarify matters. Wow, nobody suggested Louis Armstrong? The Smithsonian put out a great series, but it is out of print. However, I'll bet your local library has it, and you could probably copy them. In place of that, check out the Ken Burns Jazz Series, a more recent PBS series on DVDs and CDs. The DVD series is well worth watching, you will learn alot about Jazz. Burns released many CDs of collections of various artists in each epoch (early jazz, bebop, cool, etc etc) as well as individual artists collections. Lots of great material!! I found all those at the library too, and I imagine a good used CD store would have many of the CDs... I highly recommend early Louis Armstrong with the Hot Fives and Hot Sevens, those 1920's disks revolutionized jazz. Coltrane's greatest hits is still available at best buy, so is Miles Davis Kind of Blue and other greats. And check out the many CTI (Creed Taylor) CDs finally being released on CD. Best jazz of the '70s before all that smooth jazz crap took over the airwaves. Don't forget early Bossa Nova! Jobim and Joao Gilberto changed music as we know it. its just the new millenium version of taco bell....and it is fast food, controlled by McD's. skip tokyo go directly to Kyoto and work it out from there. Before arriving, get a japan rail pass and to use it for maximum value, travel to the furthest away points like sapporo to north and nagasaki to south, not nearby towns. be sure to hang out at a mountain onsen resort and soak in the tubs. climb up a mountain to meditate at a 1000 year old temple. there's plenty of them around Kyoto. Cannot miss: Seeing the Big Buddha in Nara, the Phoenix Temple (Byodo-in) in Uji outside Kyoto and the 'flea market' at Toji Temple every 21rst of month in Kyoto. Have fun! Eat some Tako yaki for me!
