I agree with you, however, I do feel there is a large(no pun intended) difference in SUV class. I see people driving the Ford explorer, and it doesn't bother me, even if they are soccer moms. It reminds me of the old bronco I, II, and III's BUT: When I see someone driving a ford excursion, or a Lincoln Navigator I say to my self, What the fuck is it that you do that causes you to need a vehilce that fucking big? Please, enlighten me. I understand big trucks. They serve a function such as moving "big" things. And for the most part people with big trucks use their trucks to transport large items etc... But what is a soccer mon doing in an Excursion. What can that vehicle do that a small SUV can not??? Chris

yes, but it is a step in the right direction... THis coming from a NONenvironmental president. I don't drive suv's cuz I hate them. I do drive a truck though, because my activities involve OFF - Road adventure, by my next vehicle will fall into this catagory.... I think it is possative. The glass is half full in this case.

OK I am back into it, and I really only have one point to make. It isn't even a point, it is a reitteration of what was said. The whole deal with going to a gay bar and a friend saing.. "~he is cool for a straight guy~" This IMO is a very disturbing trend, and this is the reason I first chimed in on this thread. If you read the first thing I wrote, it had to do with the reverse discrimination minorities feel is "OK" Minority groups such as black, gays, and even some polital groups seem to have the impression that discrimination only exists if it is against them. I hate affirmative action, because it is "legal" discrimination. It is true, if I brought a gay person into a mainly "straight" environment and made a comment such as... " this is John, he's cool for a gay guy." This would cause a freakin war. Or I brought a black guy into a rich upscale WHITE party and introduced him as you know, cool for a black guy. See, it doesnt work both ways, QUATORZE is right, and this is a non debatable fact in my mind. Practice what you preach. "You all don't know what it's like, being male middle class and white." I agree, there are plenty of thread "hotter" than this, but I don't want to stress my views too much, because they do not rule my life. I think by rehashing the issue, it will make me appear as if I am trying to push my thoughts on other people, and I am not. I leave that up to the jahova's witnesses that knock on my door at 7AM on a sunday. We are going to dissagree, and I love the arguements, but i do not want t come off as some radical right wing coservative who wants to put the country back to the time of the puritans. As much as I judge, I don't want to be judged that way, and I am therefore allowing this thread to drop off for now. It will come up again, and I will be stupid and put my nose into it (it is just so tempting). And the debate will continue. Maybe I will even start a thread entitled "Why the world is Black and White". You and I will have a post whoring competition on the topic. We will have to schedule for a weekend though, when I have time to quickly respond. Chris

To Speedracer and jfields: I know what you are saying, but the reason I am keeping quite, is because my opinions on the matter, and what I Think about the black and white with very little gray world will offend many people. My object here is not to make everyone like me, but at the same time I do not wish to alienate myself. See Wend W.'s comments. Everything we say and do has consequences, and this discussion may IMO piss off many people. This is a friendly forum, and I do not wish to push away potential friends. I can hae these views of the world, and be friends with people even if I don't agree with their lifestyle. To me it is wrong, and I make those judgement to myself, but it doesn't mean the person is "BAD" and I would never talk to them. So, in that sence I am not a bigot or ignorant, because I am tolorant even though I don't agree with things. If i push this conversation on, people may get a bit angry with the way i see the world, and never again give me the time of day. And that is not my purpose. I will simple say I pretty much see the world almost all in Black and White, on occasion I do however see some shades of gray, just not very often. Chris

I am glad to see this this not ending in an argument, and I was able to say what I felt and have people understand they are my views.. not right or wrong, but my beliefs. I have respected everyone elses, and you seem to have respected mine. Let me say: to a few questions in here I am neglecting to answer. One is the life being black and white issue. I am purposely avoiding that question cuz i think it is for another time.. This would just become too long and drawn out, and I have turned off enough people for one day. Mikkif, please read my last statement... you obviously do not understand what i am saying. To me it is morally wrong to commit homosexual behavior if you are not gay. If one is gay, there action is not opposite of there preference, and I do not feel that is wrong. As far as what goes on in peoples house... I don't care. In my house I do. My morals reflect my beliefs, and in no way do I expect the country or world for that matter to adopt my morality.. I am not a complete moron, I respect other rights to do what ever they want, just as I have that right.
