  1. Depends on your partner....my answer is NO..right now
  2. My answer is no, because money doesn't make you happy...in my experience.
  3. I'll have to disagree..the first version is WAY better and Way sexier! Speaking for the woman on DZ.com!
  4. Wine will work...especially for dad...but keep MY zin away from Ed please.... He can hold my dads, but not mine. See you Saturday, don't forget your grips. Kris
  5. Call me and we will work something out with my dad's second rig for you..OK?
  6. WHATEVER!!!! CHEATER.....Where's my Zin? We had fun without you last weekend anyway! Glad to see your coming home (Lodi) on Saturday to jump with us.....maybe we'll let you on our load ..........
  7. Just wanted to add to my post that I was lucky that ALL my tandem masters and instructors that I had as as a student were very professional and appropriate.....however I have overheard conversations from other instructors that concern me.
  8. Sounds like your VERY respectful of your students. This is a great thread that ALL instructors should read. Unfortunately, there are instructors out there who are less professional and see loosing chest straps and leg separation as a free touch, more than safety or trying to get them comfortable. There is a way to be appropriate and safe at the same time. It's nice to see instructors that are aware of the issues
  9. Now I have a question..My rig has a cypress..(I bought a used rig), but I don't have a cypress card. Do I need one to fly/travel with and where can I get one? I didn't know to ask for one... HELP!
  10. Jeff, We missed you out there!
  11. Big THANKYOU to Bill Dause who organized and pulled out the otter today! This was by far the most educational day I have had at a dropzone yet. Not to mention PERFECT weather! (OH...Another thank you has to go out for all the other participants (much more experienced jumpers) who were willing to jump with the "low timer" and give advice and their time- you know who you are) This mornings first two jumps were mainly focused on teaching how to take bigger pieces off of the plane to form a solid base quickly and to develop good awareness for keeping everything level. The next few jumps were larger formations ranging from 12-18 people. They focused on flying your slot, safety, and the discipline needed to be on bigger formation loads. The jumps went extremely well and I think everyone had a good time. I can't wait till next Sunday!!!!!! Yes, Bill, if you read this I will be out there Saturday as well...but I can't wait to learn more...hehehehe Thanks again for a great and safe weekend!
  12. The airspeed camp WILL give you more confidence in the air!!!! I did the camp after 10 jumps (Cause I had a bad landing and needed time to heal, before I could jump again) and it really gave me more control over my body. Besides...it's a really well run camp and you'll have an awesome experience and the people from airspeed are really genuine...if you want more info, feel free to PM me
  13. My dad is tottaly up for i!!!! He really enjoyed jumping with you...even though you are too hard on yourself. Your WAY better than I ever was at the beginning. We should be out there this weekend for sure. Either Sat or Sun depending on weather. If the weather is good both days I'll be there...maybe I'll jump with you too...then
  14. No offense, but I'm assuming your male? LOL..LOL..LOL... yeah, that light..the "fuel light" that means GET GAS, not see how long till I run out of gas....lol..lol.. I think this trait is on the Y-chomosone....all my guy friends have simalr stories and I can never figure out why...hehehehehe
  15. My dad started jumping rounds at Pope Valley (you can guess his age..lol..lol..). My younger brother and older sister both made one jump each about 5 years ago. I never thought about jumping, nor did he ever ask me. Then one night he convinced my best girlfriend to do a tandem, so I drove up with her and did a tandem .....now I can't imagine life without jumping. I jump with my dad almost every weekend and when I don't I miss him. My dad says it in my blood and I have to agree at this point!
  16. Has anyone heard from any of the World Team participants? How are they doing?
  17. Hi! I went to the wind tunnel in December 03 and flew for 150 minutes in three days. All I can say is: Get a room with a jacuzzi tub!!! oh and bring muscle relaxers....Your going to have a blast!!!!
  18. Ahhhhh...so if this happnds (change of air speed and canopy deflates), what do you do????? Pump the toggles? Thanks for your help
  19. I haven't read the other posts yet, but under the FLMA you can extend the 90 day leave..you might want to call thier HR dept. Good luck!
  20. Will "sinking in" increase the dive speed? Thanks
  21. Go for a plane ride as a passenger and have someone point out the landing area to you. This way you'll be able to see what you'll be looking for (the landing area) at the exit altitude. I have done this in areas that I was unsure of landing in several times, and it has helped to alieve my anxiety......don't worry you'll get it. It does get better!
  22. This brings up a questions for me as well. I was told that when landing it's important to keep with the landing pattern set forth. When I'm under 300 feet or so and I see that I need to lose alt. to get to where I want to land, I am hesitant to do any s-turn for fear that I will ruin someone elses landing plan and possibly cause them to react to my inexperience. I always stay alert under canopy, however don't want to land next to someone, who is going to be grumpy at my "s-turns". Who has the right of way? I figure camera guys and swoopers always do?
  23. There is a newsletter with announcements regarding the progress of the wind tunnel coming to the Silicon Valley at: News@skyventuresv.com They will forward all announcements via e-mail, if you join.... I can't wait!
