I'm actually not upset about it. I've known since January that it was going to happen. It's a relief to have my final date. And, although I don't have another job, yet, I'm not worried about it. I will find something and will enjoy. And, I've already got friends in both north and south California and a wonderfully sweet additional reason to be there. So...life is good. Life is short! Actually, here at work, it's true. I haven't had work to do except an odd job every once in awhile since January. I'm glad that my notice is in and that things are happening. Life is short! Yep....it's now official. After a totally awesome weekend, I come in to the office straight from the airport on Tuesday, and what do I get? A 60 day notice from my boss stating that my last day here at work is Sep. 2nd. So, I give him a hug and walk out the door. I'd had 45 minutes of sleep up until then and said that since I no longer have a job, I'm going home and taking a nap. Since my mom just moved here to Wisconsin this past weekend, I got a hold of her and went to dinner with her and told her in person that I got my 60 day notice and that I'm moving. Thank God we were in a restaurant as she wouldn't cry then. I'm going to start packing and going through my stuff and getting rid of things I don't use/need. And will be moving the last weekend in August. So, SoCal peeps...keep an eye out...I'll see you all soon. Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! I flew from Milwaukee to Sacramento this past week on Delta and had no problem. On the way to Sacramento, I checked my rig. On the way back from Sacramento, I carried it on - no questions asked. A modern day cowboy has spent many days crossing the desert without water. His horse has already died of thirst. He's crawling through the sands, certain that he has breathed his last, when all of a sudden; he sees an object sticking out of the sand several yards ahead of him. He crawls to the object, pulls it out of the sand, and discovers what looks to be an old brief case. He opens it and out pops a genie. But this is no ordinary genie. She is wearing an Internal Revenue Service, ID badge and a dull gray dress. There's a calculator in her pocketbook. She has a pencil tucked behind one ear. "Well, cowboy," says the genie... "You know how it works. You have three wishes." "I'm not falling for this." Says the man. "I'm not going to trust an IRS auditor." "What do you have to lose? You've got no transportation, and it looks like you're a goner anyway!" The man thinks about this for a minute, and decides that the genie is right. "OK, I wish I were in a lush oasis with plenty of food and drink." ***POOF*** The cowboy finds himself in the most beautiful oasis he has ever seen. And he is surrounded with jugs of wine and platters of delicacies. "OK, cowpoke, what's your second wish." "My second wish is that I were rich beyond my wildest dreams." ***POOF*** The man finds himself surrounded by treasure chests filled with rare gold coins and precious gems. "OK, cowpuncher, you have just one more wish. Better make it a good one!" After thinking for a few minutes, the man says.. "I wish that no matter where I go, beautiful women will want and need me." ***POOF*** He is turned into a tampon.
