Hey, Juan. I'm actually on the DD list...you just have to PM for the number. Well...I was born in Newport, RI. But, probably at the rest is correct.

Yikes! I so hope, ChopChop, that not all men view dating this way. I actually go into a relationship looking at them as a possible, long term relationship. If I'm interested in just friendship, it's just friendship. And, if I wanted just sex, I could use a toy to relieve that tension. You're assuming that the person actually calls when they say they are going to. It's amazing how many times you get the "I'll call" routine and you really like them enough to hope they call and viola! No call. Then you get to sit there wondering what the heck happened. You'd like to know why there's been no call or why the contact has ceased, but don't feel that you can ask the question 'cause then you're viewed as desperate or stalking them or whatever! Dang nab it, Luis! Now you've got that whole damn hope thing going again. It's wonderful to see that there are relationships that last. I'm very happy for you. Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably. And never regret anything that made you smile.

Hey, Chris! The way to hug Michele is plan on it being a full contact, both armed, nice and tight hug. And, it will be a multiple hug situation. She's got one of those nice hugs where you know that you've been hugged. Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably. And never regret anything that made you smile.

California apartment hunting and gear after a hard opening
ladyskydiver replied to ladyskydiver's topic in The Bonfire
I'm probably using the wrong terminology. What I'm referring to as the reserve housing is the black fabric that the "excess" cut-a-way cable is put into that is sewn onto the riser and where the hard riser inserts go. Life is short! I'll find out what my rigger says tomorrow at work. But, in the meantime, this is what Paige at Wings had to say: Thanks for writing. I spoke to Henri and found out that it is not uncommon for that stitching to give on such a hard opening, not just on Wings risers but throughout the industry. Because of the direction the stitching is sewn, it pulled out to help absorb the shock of the extra hard opening. The webbing underneath the stitching will not break but it had stretched to its fullest capacity after stressing with the hard opening you’ve had. If your rigger resews the stitching, because it has extended, the stitching should not come out again. .... Since the time your rig has been made, we’ve made small modifications in the way we do the stitching by sewing it a little looser so even the threads are kind of pre prepared to absorb the shock of such a hard opening. Paige and Wings have been great with responding and their suggestions and help. I still love my Wings and am looking forward to jumping again soon. -
I'm going through the log book to start writing down what I've accomplished for my D requirements. Now, I need to make sure I have at least a cup of coffee before going to the DZ. Prevent that from happening, again. Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably. And never regret anything that made you smile.

"We've been back to this shelter at least five times. It has been weeks now since we started looking for a puppy," the woman told the volunteer. "What is it she keeps asking for?" the volunteer asked. "Puppy size!" "We have plenty of puppies, if that's what she's looking for." "I know. We have seen most of them," she said in frustration. Just then the young child came walking in the office. "Well, did you find one?" "No, not this time," she said with sadness in her voice. "Can we come back on the weekend?" The two women looked at each other, shook their heads and laughed. "You never know when we will get more dogs. Unfortunately, there's always a supply," the volunteer said. The young child took her Mother by the hand and headed to the door. "Don't worry, I bet we'll find one this weekend," the child said. Over the next few days both mom and dad had long conversations with her. They both felt she was being too particular. "It's this weekend or we're not looking any more," Dad finally said in frustration. "We don't want to hear anything more about puppy size either," Mom added. Sure enough they were the first ones in the shelter on Saturday morning. By now the young child knew her way around, so she ran right for the section that housed the smaller dogs. Tired of the routine, Mom sat in the small waiting room at the end of the first row of cages. There was an observation window so you could see the animals during times when visitors weren't permitted. The young girl walked slowly from cage to cage, kneeling periodically to take a closer look. One by one the dogs were brought out and she held back one. One by one she said, "Sorry, you're not the one." It was the last cage on this last day in search of the perfect pup. The volunteer opened the cage door and the child carefully picked up the dog and held it closely. This time she took a little longer. "Mom, that's it! I found the right puppy! He's the one! I know it!" she screamed with joy. Mom, startled by all the commotion, came running. "What? Are you sure? How do you know?" she asked. "It's the puppy sighs!" "Yes, it's the same size as all the other puppies you held the last few weeks," Mom said. "No, not size -- sighs. When I held him in my arms he sighed," she said. "So?" "Don't you remember? When I asked you one day what love is, you told me Love depends on the sighs of your heart. The more you love, the bigger the sighs!" The two women looked at each other for a moment. Mom didn't know whether to laugh or cry. As she stooped down to hug her child she did a little of both. "Mom, every time you hold me I sigh. When you and Daddy come home from work and hug each other you both sigh. I knew I would find the right puppy if it sighed when I held it in my arms," she said. Then holding the puppy up close to her face she said, "Mom, he loves me. I heard the sighs of his heart." Close your eyes for a moment and think about the love that makes you sigh... I not only find it in the arms of my loved ones, but in the touch of a dear friend, the caress of a sunset, the kiss of the moonlight and the gentle brush of cool air on a hot day... The more you love... the bigger the sighs. Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably. And never regret anything that made you smile.

As usual, you put things into words much better than I could ever hope to. You did a wonderful job with your first coaching experience! I was very proud to see the way you handled yourself. You did not need me, DiabloPilot or Clownburner in the skies with you - you did wonderful! (But, I'm glad we were in the sky playing with you.

Well....went to the doc and got pushed and pulled and prodded. She said that since I didn't kill her for doing that, she didn't think my back is broken and chose not to do x-rays. I am now on muscle relaxers and anti-inflammatories with the "if you're not feeling better in a couple of days, come back in" caveat. As soon as I find out what my rigger says and see what Wings has to say, I'll post it. -

My goals for the trip to California are real simple. 1 - find an apartment to rent 2 - get in 5 jumps at Elsinore 3 - get to interview and back without getting lost You think that would be sooo simple to do. But, nope...not this time. I did manage to do one of my goals - I did not get lost driving from Burbank to San Diego. As I leave Milwaukee airport ( see airport experience here), I'm really excited. It's almost time to move, and I get to see Michele and my California friends again. Get into the airport and give and receive a ton of hugs from Michele. It's so great to see her again and know I'll be able to hang out with my sister more frequently. -
