I think it would be fun to do once, but for myself, I can't get past the whole "People will see me naked" thing or the thought of what my naked body would look like doing 120mph. Life is short! Actually, let me rephrase that....how do I say "Until I see you again?" How is it that jumping out of a plane for the first time seems less scary than a move across the country? It's getting so close. I've known since January that I was going to be without a job and moving. Somehow, someway time flew by and it's now a week away from me leaving my family and friends to wander and enjoy new friendships. I keep wondering if I'm remembering everything. Have I put in all the change of addresses? Do I have everything covered? More boxes? YIKES!!! Do I have the directions ready for when I leave? I feel like I'm forgetting things, and there are times I am. So much is running through my head that I'm writing things down so that I can remember what I'm supposed to be doing. I'm happy and scared. Nervous and excited. So many emotions running through me. I want to scream "Where's the brakes?" Yet at the same time, I want to fly. I know that it's not that I won't see those I love and care about again. But, it's so strange to know that I'll no longer be able to call them up and say "Coffee in 30 minutes?" I know there are new friends in California that I will be able to do that with, but now...it's "How do I get to the coffee shop?" 4 work days....7 calendar days....and loading the truck begins. I've bribed friends with beer and pizza to help me load the truck. (Note to self: Pick up paper plates and cups for Thursday.) 8 calendar days, and I'm on the road....a lot later than I planned due to final inspection of my apartment. So, now instead of leaving at "Oh, God: 30," I'll be leaving mid-afternoon. I have no plans on where I'll crash on my drive to California. I'm going to take it as it comes. My plans for DZ's to stop at along the way have changed due to having to be in California to look at a possible apartment on Sep. 1st. I'll still be making one stop at a DZ but not both of them I had planned. I'm not sure where I'll be living (well...at least I know the city )....what I'll do for a job. I know that I'll probably be putting my stuff in storage for a couple of weeks in California and then moving to an apartment. 2 moves....YUK!!!! I don't know where the storage place is. I still need to beg and bribe people in California to help unload the truck...(or is it unload/reload/unload? ARG!!!), but I don't know where I'll be doing the unloading, etc. So many emotions....so many tears....so much laughter. The full range of emotions....wow! Can tears catch you off-guard. The desire to just take a break, put my head on a shoulder, get hugged and be told "It will all work out." (God...what a girl I'm being. ) Taking the leap of faith that everything will work out the way it's supposed to be....allowing myself to be vulnerable. Damn! I've always been the strong one...the one for people to lean on and now I'm doing the leaning. (Although people do not realize how much I'm leaning on them. ) So I guess the only way to say it is "Love ya...miss ya...until I see you again, be safe." Well...California....are you ready for me?
