Hey, JT! My experiences with TSA have been hit or miss - and most of my traveling with my rig has been done since Sep. 11th. There has been a lot of variation with the way TSA has handled me carrying my rig on, and this is the pre-second time that it was sooo smooth dealing with my rig. So...they get a kuddos from me. Hopefully, this experience is just the way the rest of my traveling with go from now on.

I'm actually surprised and impressed by the TSA agents in Milwaukee. Never thought I'd say that!!! At the airport 2 hours early for my NYC trip, because I'm bringing my rig with me. Fully expect a long drawn out process getting through since I have weights in my checked luggage and I'm carrying my rig on. Hand over my luggage to the TSA agent to get checked - nope...no issues. Ok...that was easy but for my rig...there's going to be a delay. Get up to the agent and hand them my ticket and ID and sure enough...I'm picked for "special" screening. Figures!!! Walk through...put everything up and walk through...sure enough...they've gotta check some of my carry on luggage - but it's not my rig. I forgot a pair of small scissors in one of my bags and they took it. Looked at my rig in the machine, and I mentioned that it's a rig and they just waive it through. Not only have they actually FINALLY received training on what a rig is, one of the guys was in the military and used to jump rounds. So...grab my rig and off I go. Now...hopefully the weather cooperates and I get to jump!!!!
