You're right...it's not that hard. But speaking as a person who did it while on student status and not finding out until I was in freefall (thank God that my instructor Raven recognized the issue), I can tell you that it happens. I could have sworn that I routed it correctly. However, I obviously hadn't and thanks to my instructor catching the issue, I was able to deploy while holding onto my harness and not fall out of the student harness that was too big for me. Talk about being totally freaked out, and yes when I got to the ground we went over the chest strap routing again. I'm now anal about checking my chest strap and as many others as I can. You never know when someone does it thinking they did it correctly and well...they didn't. Having someone else give you a gear check isn't a replacement for doing your own, but my life is hanging in the balance, and I for one appreciate those that will give me a gear check - and yes, it's only those I trust that I allow to give me one. Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably. And never regret anything that made you smile.

It was great jumping with you as well, Lenny. I'm glad that the weight belt helped Sarah out on the jump. She was so cute when she got down and was unable to control the excitement of her jump.

1 fun demo: 3: 0 Demo'd a Nitro 150 today. Finally had good enough weather to jump it. Did the first jump from full alti to play with the canopy and see what it would do. Holy shit is this canopy fast!!! It had my ProTrack going off. (ok...so I'll admit that when my ProTrack when off, I did look at the canopy to see what was wrong with it. ) Even though I was loading it lightly for what it's rated, it was quite capable of making me dizzy and nauseated during the turns. Only thing I didn't like about it was the collapsable slider - I was unable to get it to collapse. It will definitely be in my final list of canopy choices for a 150. The other 2 jumps were a 12 pt. - 4 way and a 24 pt. - 3 way. Awesome jumps with good friends. Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably. And never regret anything that made you smile.

Did a demo of the Nitro 150 - got in 3 jumps on it. Since this was the first elliptical canopy that I was trying, I did my first jump on it from full alti and played with the canopy to see what it would do and is capable of (nothing like 13,000 ft to test out a canopy ). I couldn't get it to stall - even though I tried. Had very quick turns, flat turns were simple and easy to do, rear risers were a breeze to use although I couldn't get the front risers to do anything. The next 2 jumps I took it down to a terminal opening. Even at terminal, the canopy opened nice and easy and on-heading. It is one of the canopies that I will be including in my final selection for my next canopy. I did load it lightly and still it was a very quick, responsive canopy. Since I was demoing it, I used a packer so that I could spend as much time playing with the canopy and testing it out as possible.

bwahahaha - I usually go out for sushi with 2 of my friends. If we leave the sushi place with under $100 spent, it's a minor miracle. Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably. And never regret anything that made you smile.

How much do you trust your cypres?
ladyskydiver replied to Harksaw's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Nope. I have a cypress, but I don't rely on it. It gets turned on and forgot. It's there as a just in case. Money's nice, but it's not everything. Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably. And never regret anything that made you smile. -
I'll bring extra hugs, hon...we'll have to go out and have our traditional Surf-n-Turf. I'm looking forward to it. Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably. And never regret anything that made you smile.

LOL - This company thinks Excel is a database. I feel your pain with Access. Thanks for your help, everyone! It's appreciated. I owe y'all a hug (or two). It's looking like I may just put a form together to get everyone entering the same information in the same format and when we do the upgrades then work on automating the addition/deletion of users. One last question...when we do upgrade our software, will the addition/deletion of members to a group be able to be automated? For example, we're having an issue with a person leaving the company and them still staying in a group. Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably. I'd prefer developing the best solution but until we get the upgrades in place (which we're working on but need to upgrade the hardware prior to the software), I have to come up with something. As far as programming applications that'll plug into both realms...nope...don't know anything about it. Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably. And never regret anything that made you smile.
