Yeah, what she said. Just had a friend get a huge job promotion because he cleaned up a bit. Cut his hair and started wearing a tie. First impressions are lasting!

I learned a valuable lesson about the military watching my dad with his 26 year career which subsequently in divorce for him and my mom. Your job is just what you do, not who you are. My job keeps me living the type of lifestyle I lead and nothing more. Sure, I get pride from what I do, but putting the Army before my true love would be a huge mistake. My father didn't give a shit whether my mom was happy in their present location. He felt he was doing his job by going wherever the hell the Army told him to go. She played the game for a long time before she got sick of being 2nd best. Luckily Chuck knows the rules of the game but if I have a choice, I'm going somewhere that he can be happy. I'm going to make the best out of any location. He doesn't really have that luxury. He can't work in Germany year round, he can't work in Augusta, GA. Hope that makes sense. I'm not into that super femenist do what's right for me thing. It's not MY life, it's OURS.

Kramer - you know better than me that Chuck's Bragged out! Germany would get me command fast but that's a no-go. El Paso isn't the best career choice but Chuck likes the weather and location there. I'm a Signal Officer, Chuck's retired. And there's slots open EVERYWHERE, branch just isn't sending us where we want to go. Mar - thanks for the tough love. Synchronicity's doing a tunnel camp in there the 13th and 14th. I've signed up for 30mins tunnel time and coaching. I've never been in the tunnel and am very excited.

Ft. Bragg's in NC. I'd LOVE Colorado! I guess this is just the first time I've had to worry about someone else's happiness. I never cared what the Army did to me because I knew I'd be happy anywhere. Ok, I thought I was pretty tough until this past month. The move from NC to GA was rough enough for Chuck and I. Leaving all of our friends and coming here where we know we'll only be here 6 months so there's no need making tons of new friends is hard. On top of that, the weather's been shitty, the closest dz is an hour and a half a way, I get up at 0430 every morning, and Chuck's been pretty bored. So, I'm waiting to see where the Army's going to send me next. Chuck and I were hopeful about either Savannah, GA (Ft. Stewart) or Arizona (Ft. Huachuca). Well, the list of "available" assignments came out and neither of those places are on it. List looks like this: Korea, Kuwait, Ft. Bragg (we're ready for something new), Ft. Lee (no job there for me), Germany, and Ft. Bliss, TX. I get an e-mail from a friend of mine "in the know" that says he saw me on a list for Germany. I tell him that's no good because of Chuck and other things yadayadayada. I get a response from him today that says, "Me and MAJ Griggs have a plan for you that we think is good. Talk to MAJ Griggs tomorrow and then give me a call and tell me what you think." HOLY CRAP!!! Now I have to sit here wondering WTF until then! I'm dying. My face is all broke out, I can't sleep at night, and I'm antsy all the time! Most of the time I handle job stress really well but this is killing me. Thanks for listening. Really needed do dump that out there! AHGGGGGGGGG! Whew, feel better!
