I think you've gotten some pretty good reason why you should wear a jumpsuit or jump-related clothing. Just for something to do, I looked it up and according to the SIM, Section 5-3, Para K: 1. The use of personal equipment should be determinedby the type of jump experience and proficiency of the skydiver, weather, and drop zone conditions. 2. Clothing and equipment: a. Adequate protective clothing, including jumpsuit, helmet, gloves, goggles, and footwear should be worn for all land jumps. b. Gloves are essential when the jump altitude temperature is lower than 40° F. c. A jumper should always carry a protected but accessible knife. d. A rigid helmet— (1) should be worn on all skydives (tandem students may wear soft helmets) (2) should be lightweight and not restrict vision or hearing e. All jumpers are advised to wear flotation gear when the intended exit, opening, or landing point of a skydive is within one mile of an open body of water (an open body of water is defined as one in which a skydiver could drown). I'm just getting into it myself and was given this same advice. I'm thinking that transitions are the basis for good FF skills. Going from sit to stand to headdown, etc. Get the transitions out of the way, then you might have to jump once or twice less in the day and pay someone to assist you (unless you can find someone with the experience to coach you for free)!

A lot of people in Monroe jump Freakin' Suits - there's a guy there named Roham who deals for them. I'm ordering a pair of pants from them because of their short turnaround and price. However, I came across Ouragan suits in Florida and am extremely pleased with the quality material and make of the suits. Their site's down right now but it's Ouragan. Good luck.

A partitioned HDD just keeps the processor from having to work too hard searching when files start to become fragmented. Just to upload a 45 min DV takes almost 20GB of disk space for me. If you had partitioned HDD or a 2nd HDD all together (I'd really like a 160GB or more) then you could run the program (really all your multimedia programs) and save your projects and finished products on that HDD. Well, she took me for a ride on Saturday. Not quite sure what happened but I was all over the place. I nailed the exit, though! Just couldn't get stable for very long. Just a complete brain fart and the longer I fought it the more frustrated I became. Finally found my wings after about 4,000 feet and pulled off a 97 second dive. Pulled at 4,500, had a hard pull, ended up looking down resulting in a head down track, finally threw out only to get whiplash from hell! Remind me not to do that again, ok? I'm using Premiere 6.5. When I start the program, I accept the U.S. Defaults (DV - NTSC @ 32kHz), then with my camera connected, I go to File, Capture, and select Batch Capture. That captures it in AVI which I then drop to my timeline. If you're seeing the movie get stuck a lot, it's directly related to your RAM and the location of the Adobe Program. While I don't have my setup configured optimally, you should really have Adobe running on a partitioned HDD and should have at least 512MB of memory. 1GB is recommended. You can check Adobe's support page for more info or access the online help: Adobe. Hope that helps...
