  5. I did for my 100th jump! Ok, so I did it like, 2 months ago, but I just now got the video online So I thought I'd share. I held the potato head the whole time- we didn't get it fully assembled -only 1 ear, a nose (which if you watch closely ends up falling off), and the eyes. We also lost an ear
  6. I could be wrong, but if I remember correctly, Ron Jeremy used to hang around the ranch for awhile. Don't think he was ever on dz.com though. I don't remember if he made or jump or not, but I'm almost positive when I started jumping up there, I heard stories about him hanging around there a bunch. Then again, it's been a very long day *daizey*

  13. nice pics Scott...especially of that 5 way! 1 friend greatly missed: 2: 0 This weekend was Ted's memorial and today was the dive. First one I have ever seen and while I wasn't on it, I got to see it from the ground and it was absolutely amazing! 1 fun 3 way that got me back up in the air for the first time in 4 weeks and one 5 way in memory of Ted. *daizey*
  14. Only thing i am doing this semester is student teaching, then I am FREEEEEEE. Until I start grad school. However, for right now I am looking forward to being on the other end of the classroom and teaching instead of being taught. *daizey*
  15. We have learned today that while we are in our grieving process dozens and dozens of people are going to benefit from a wonderful gift Ted and his family have given. Ted was a full organ and tissue donor. EVERY organ and tissue in his body was usable! The tissue was sent out to burn units and all of his organs were life flighted out of the hospital last night to their new prospective patients. Please keep the notes and pictures up on his site! They are wonderful so far! The website address is http://www.phreezone.com/Ted/updates.htm If you have any problems with uploading, please email them to daizey@gmail.com *daizey*
  16. If anyone has any photos of Ted, please visit the website and upload them so we can pass them along with everything to his family. And remember to add any thoughts or condolences you may wish as well. Thanks guys http://www.phreezone.com/Ted/updates.htm *daizey*

  18. 100 jumps finally complete:4:lots I made my 100th this weekend! The jump was a ton of fun! We assebled a Mr. Potato head in the air. We managed to get the eyes, nose, and an ear in. One ear was lost in freefall and the the nose ended up falling out, but it was sooo much fun! I can't wait to trry it again-and compelte it next time! *daizey*
  19. One cold that doenst seem to want to go away:2:0 I was feeling pretty yucky on Saturday so I just stayed at home and spent the day in bed. It felt really nice and by Sunday morning I was feeling great! Did 2 jumps-both of which I pulled at 8,000 to practice some stuff I leanred last weekend. My landings are looking soo much better! And this accuracy thing is starting to make sense! Unfortunately by noon I felt like crap again and spent the rest of the day on a couch in the AC (it was HOT) Next weekend will be fun-I'll hit my 100th!! WOO HOO!
  20. I found Scott's course to be effective because for one entire day all I did were canopy related things. The jumps are consecutive and you debrief right away - and since it's not one on one, you get the oppurtunity to learn form others msitakes too. New skills are introduced and then you go do it with each jump leading to another. Plus you have the SAME person coaching you and debriefing you all day. I've read all the stuff that was in Scotts course before. I've even tried to do most of it. But by listening so much, being explained soemthing so much, and doing so much in such a short amount of time, I felt I really got it like I never have before. I've been to dz's that offer canopy coaching for any level-right off student, 1,000 jumps+, etc, and I believe almost all of the above is something you don't/won't get with a regular coach. Most likely you won't get a full day of classroom coaching, or be able to do consecutive jumps, have your landings filmed and discussed right away, or have the ability to learn directly form others who are right there and getting advice too-all of which I felt were key points to this course and why people, like myself, are so successful in learning from it. Plus, I don't think there would be much of a guarantee that you could do these things consecutively with the same person all day since they'd be rather busy! *daizey*
  21. I took it last weekend and walked out feeling like I had learned SOO much. I was exhausted that night and the next day was rough, but what I got out of it was absolutely amazing! There's a ton of info and it's so great to learn something and then go put it to practical use. Plus being able to go over the landings right then and there was great-It was so good to see exactly what it was that I was doing wrong on each of my landings and I was quickly able to go from falling on my face to standing up effortlessly. Further, I found that he was just so easy to understand and really put things in terms that made me comprehend what he was talking about. I've read a lot of the same information he taught in the class but only after hearing him explain it did it finally click. It was amazing to see that in 4 jumps I improved more than I had in my past 90. Definitely worth every minute and penny! *daizey*
  22. A great way to save money if you are planning on seeing a lot of the sites is the CityPass. The pass grants you admission to the American Museum of Natural History & Rose Center, the Guggenheim Museum, The Museum of Modern Art, the Intrepid Sea Air Space Museum, Circle Line Sightseeing Cruises, and the Empire State Building. If you buy the pass you have 9 days to visit each attractions once and I think it's about half the price you'd normally pay. You can either order it online or if you decide to get it while in NYC you can pick it up at any of the paces listed above, I've done this before (and I used to live just outside the city and still go to school there) and it's great. It was especially great to buy when people would come and visit me. Every single place that it gives access to are must sees in NYC. If you feel like getting a lot done in one day, there's also the New York Pass. This gives you admission to 40-something attractions and is $54. It includes a lot more attractions, but you only have one day to visit all you can. Definitely doable to visit a lot on a day, but you'll be exhausted too! However, it icludes a lot that the CityPass doesn't like the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, Madame Tussaud¡'s Wax Museum, NBC Studio Tour, Radio City Music Hall Stage Door Tour, The United Nations Tour, Madison Square Garden All Access Tour, and many others. But like I said, that's a TON to do in one day! I've personally never bought this one, but a few people I know have. And according to their website it also gives you discounts at restaurants and prevents a lot of time waiting on lines so that definitely helps! Another way to keep it cheap is to buy unlimited ride metro cards. They pay for themselves quickly. Remember the subway is $2 per ride. The one day unlimited is $7-that pays for itself in 4 rides. Depending on how long you'll be there, the one week I think is $24. The metrocard is good on both subways and busses. I hope that helps if you need anything else let me know. You guys will have a great time! *daizey*
