BoozeHags in Raeford (Pammi and Merrek this includes you)
Raefordite replied to PhreeZone's topic in The Bonfire
Hey Lisa - Nice to meet you - hopefully we will get to jump together next time you are in town! It's a cruel joke to have blue skies and not be able to jump! blue skies and calm winds, kate -
Phone calls are being made to find out who and how seriously injuried. We know and love all these guys. They all jump and train here at Raeford. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Remember the year. That was a "normal" reserve for 1979!
-
Fudd: Where you at? We had rain last weekend, tornado warnings yesterday and high winds today. I think Raeford DZ has put up no more than a few Cessna loads over the two weekends. It is killing me not to jump! Wishing all skydivers blue skies and calm winds.

People think skydiving is dangerous ?????

Alrightie then - Have you seen the half size little wooden ironing boards? I find them in the hotels on occasion. Maybe one can be borrowed. Then one big guy can hold unto it while the other pulls for him and the board can be used again in case the first photo shoot doesn't turn out. Of course I'd hate to pull and hold onto an iron........ -

Ok - when and where? I bet that board will be a little tougher to hold unto than the iron. And talk about difference of fall rate with that board! -
Perhaps she started with a severe allergy reaction to a medication she was taking. No matter what, glad she is doing better. All the prayers must be helping.

I love it!!! It expresses just what I feel when I see the prices go up in "anticipation" of oil price hikes.

Ok - I give - any studies on percentages of injuries to number of jumps, say compared to that of snowboarding? Or any other sport with lots of speed? -
I avoid packing myself if at all possible. Of course I have the luxury of already being out of school and a steady income. So keep studying! It is worth it in many ways. Good idea to pack for yourself if it means one more jump. Or if packing yourself means you can afford a coach to jump with you (no matter what level of experience you have) - good idea!

At 92 years, sounds like she isn't done living yet. Hang in there Viking's Grandma! Prayers and good thoughts coming your way.

Ladies - what can we learn here from all these photos? I mean please, I, a married woman can pick this stuff up ------TJ: Nice legs! I especially appreciate the medial head of your quads. Let me guess - you are right handed. And what ever gave you that scar on your left tibia (shin)? Quite a long scar and from a long time ago I suspect. You also walk with your right foot turned out more than your left. Correct? AggieDave - Nice circumference of the biceps/triceps, but must say that TJ has "definition" beat over yours. And if I am correct, that is his nondominant side. Ladies, take another look at AggieDave in his pants - I think he may suffer from a little no-ass-at-all syndrome. Maybe it was the photo angle. Either way - I enjoyed all the photos - you all look marvelous! Keep it up gentlemen!

Raeford Parachute Center has been using the student Javelin containers, BOC throw out system for about 8 months now. We love it! Much more adjustable for multi-sized students, I like the main and reserve side main pilotchute deployment system, the cutaway system is universal, meaning even if the student pulls the emergency handles out of sequence, it will cutaway first and then deploy the reserve. Do you recieve a hard time from your co-workers about skydiving?
Raefordite replied to nubain1's topic in The Bonfire
Mostly the skydiving is a topic some of my fellow employees use to start a conversation. My favorite is when a "new guy" is there, a empoyee veteran make's a comment about my skydiving. All they are looking for is a response from the newby that doesn't know me. I guess if the veteran employee doesn't have the guts to skydive themselves, they try to impress others by what they know I do. A tandem may be done to impress someone, but once you are truly hooked, it has nothing to do with what other people think. Your boss was out of line by pointing you out. I'd be more worried about the grossly overweight, child bearing aged females and chronic disease folks like diabetics that cost employeer paid medical insurance plans a fortune. -
Welcome to the sport Mel! Hope your wallet can keep up with you! Be safe, have fun and enjoy life to the fullest! blue skies

What can I say - I had a blind moment! http://www.skykat.com/Catalog/enter.html?target=Main_CanopiesAtair.html Sooooo Sorry, the information has been corrected. A slip of the key, really. I have all the respect in the world for each company. PISA and Aerodyne have merged. NOT Atair, they are still going along as usual, no changes there! SKY KAT has always injoyed working with Ned Luker at PISA. We are looking forward to working with the NEW Aerodyne International and their products. Ned is now with Aerodyne although with the military side of the business. blue skies, Kate Griesser SKY KAT Gear Shop

Read the poem again my Slovenian friend. The poem reads, "The Soldier" It does not mention or imply a specific nationality.
-
The Soldier It's the Soldier, not the reporter, who has given us Freedom of the Press. It's the Soldier, not the poet, who has given us Freedom of speech. It's the Soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the Freedom to Demonstrate. It's the Soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the Right to a Fair Trial. It's the Soldier who salutes the Flag, serves under the Flag, and whose coffin is draped by the Flag, who gives the protester the right to burn the Flag. - Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC Have you seen that bumper sticker that says, "No More War"? I wish I had one that says, "You First. No More Twin Towers" Just something to consider at your next peace rally.

SKY KAT has a "Mr. Kitty Fund" jar. The fund is to help out with vet bills, kitty litter, beer, cat food, vet bills, kitty drugs, you know, whatever.... No really, check it out at SKY KAT.

You're not a wimp...just voicing your opinon! The web site is very helpful, but of course my arm does not yet have the scar. My turn is soon to be around the corner. In the mean time, thanks for lining up and taking it for the rest of us.

Little King Tut & Spider send their best for Kitty. Tell Billy Bob he has a tough paw to fill until Kitty can return, but I know he can do it.
