Even if you're 'somewhat' current, it's not something I'd recommend. I just did 1377 miles, I'm very current, lotsa miles. Carry lots of water, more than you'd expect. Plan on fairly frequent breaks. If it's a Harley for that far, in this heat, I'd suggest a sheepskin seat cover/cooling pad. But overall, I wouldn't suggest it at all. Not for someone that hasn't road-tripped in 25 years. OR NOT it's a perfectly valid reason to NOT skydive. Far to many people do not take the seriousness of this sport into real account. If someone tries skydiving and then has a REAL understanding of what the LETHAL nature of the sport can be. then they decide it's not for them, that's fine. Not all fear should be overcome. In all seriousness mate, GO FOR IT but Sheep skins are a blessing, and a throttle lock will save "arm pump" and make the ride a lot more enjoyable. BTW it does not have to be a tailored sheepskin seat cover, just a small piece of good quality hide throw it over the seat and your good. it makes a world of difference. Having given a tracking group 12 seconds exit gap, I was in a 4 way RW group where the cameraman from the tracking group ended up opening in between us as we were tracking away, i.e. we all passed him (mind you he was an aussie) under canopy on seperate sides. that has nothing to do with exit order. that could have just as easily happend regardless of where they exited.
