  1. You might try to change the regional code on your DVD player. On most players, you can go into set up and change the regional code. But you can only do this a couple times before it sticks to one.... not sure how that works, it's what someone told me once. You can try to change the code, and change it back when you are done. Might work anyway
  2. I"ve had my cat for just over 10 years now. Basically my best friend for most of those, and I have had a bit of fun with her most of that time. Got her drunk, tape, spun in circles on a chair till she was dizzy, etc. Thats what cats are for...... things you can torcher!! No video.... still didn't happen

  5. Ok, I've been a Nebraska Cornhusker fan since before I knew where Oklahoma was on the map. Now I have a new reason to want the Cornhuskers to spank Michigan State on Monday! Their coach is a mouthy and stupid whuffo!!!!! Go Big Red!!

  9. I'm still wondering what he is doing on the toilet He said he was fixing it... but where was the sledge hammer and large monkey wrench???
  10. Well, we are going to stop by this weekend, even if the weather is bad because they want to see where spend all my time and money. Maybe I'll show them my favorite place to sleep (pass out) too. Maybe we'll see you this weekend. Probably Saturday, but maybe Sunday.
  11. Where is his lightsaber??
  12. We jump from a cessna or two at my DZ, so an observer ride is possible, but doesn't happen too often due to the lack of room.
  13. I offered them tandem's for Christmas presents... they refused. I think my Dad "might" do an observer ride, but my Mom doesn't like to fly anyway, so that wouldn't happen with her.
  14. Too funny. I'll have to work it out with them when they are here in Seattle from Nebraska this weekend! Maybe my parents will get lucky and the weather will be crap again and it won't be an issue. I haven't been able to jump in nearly a month due to the weather, so if it is nice.... i'll really want to!

    Need a name

I think i'm naming my next pet "Whuffo" Thats for a dog or cat, male or female! It will be funny to other skydivers and "cute" to other whuffo's
  16. They aren't exactly big fans of the skydiving idea in the first place. I am under orders (for the past 2 years) to only tell them about it past tense.
  17. I'm working both Christmas eve and Christmas day. 12 - 8pm on Christmas eve, and 4:30pm - 12:30am on Christmas day and the day after. At least I'm off for New Years Eve and New Years Day.... requested those off 6 months in advance. I need a new job! I got a phone call from a TV station in Rhode Island today.... I should check for DZ's there first!
  18. check for spyware I had problems with that in the past. It tends to cause more pop-ups
  19. Ok.... you see my question. Advice?? Neither one of them understand why I do what we all do, or the feeling of freedom in freefall..... yep, total Whuffos!!! Naturally, as parents, they don't want to see me bounce.
  20. Ok, Ivan don't kill me if this has been done before, but I just found these on a drop zone in Nebraska's web site. enjoy http://www.skydivelspc.com/beer.htm The Beer Rules An unwritten law, one as immutable and irrefutable as gravity and backed by history, states that skydivers enjoy the drinking of beer almost as much as flight itself. A manifestation of this fact is the tradition of the buying by an individual skydiver a case of beer (that being twenty-four cans or bottles holding twelve or more ounces of beer, ale, or some similar such substance) for his or her fellow jumpers to celebrate the accomplishment of a particular feat or milestone in one's jump career. It is generally recognized that the buying and drinking of such beer enhances that common bond shared by skydivers and contributes greatly to the body of knowledge concerning parachuting and its related activities. It is a sad fact that some skydivers are ignorant of what constitutes a significant achievement (usually and henceforth referred to as a "first"). Equally sad is the fact that some unscrupulously thirsty jumpers will shamelessly try to "weasel" a case of beer out of a jumper for an inauspicious event. Recognizing this, the following happenings are to be regarded as suitable occasions for buying beer. This list is not to be construed as exhaustive. First jump (It is not required of students. They are simply encouraged to participate). If more than one first is accomplished on a single jump, only one case of beer is required. Participation is voluntary. If a skydiver chooses not to participate by buying, neither shall the skydiver enjoy the fruits of the accomplishments of others. Non-drinkers may buy sodas and buyers may make up any part or whole of their purchase in soda for the enjoyment of those non-drinkers. It is generally recognized that using a reserve parachute for the purpose of saving one's worthless, non-packing self from a gory death requires him to buy the saving rigger dinner or the bottle of liquor of his choice. These articles are ironclad and binding. For the price of an additional six-pack, a sniveling skydiver may enlist the services of an S & TA to represent him or her in a hearing where the committee will rule against that skydiver a second time. Completing the student course of instruction First four way First eight way First CRW First time in the peas First night jump First kiss pass First competition First water jump First naked jump First jump on your own pack job First dead center (measured by a judge or electronic scoring pad on a three or five cm disc) First jump on a new main or new rig (purchased, not borrowed) Any license, award, rating, or badge Getting your name or photo in "Parachutist" Magazine Gross safety violations not resulting in serious injury or death Any jump ending in "00" First cutaway/reserve ride First jump from an aircraft not normally used at home drop zone First jump at a new drop zone First demo jump First save (you riggers thought you were getting off easy) Vomiting in the airplane or on another skydiver First round canopy jump (Geez, used to be the other way around) First broken bone First camera jump
  21. I've never served in the Military and I'm not a big fan of Bush or his war in Iraq, but I do respect the Men & Women who in the past and present have given their lives to serve their country. Freedom isn't free! Nice Rock, and I hope nobody messes with it
  22. Cloudy and rainy.............. again in Seattle I'll jump when it's cold.... but all the clouds and rain suck!!!! This is so depressing. I haven't been able to jump in about a month now. Maybe I should just be drunk till May!!
  23. I believe that cost of living increase is generally 4%. I asked for a 6% raise last year, only got 3%, and I doubt that I'm getting anything this year. Bastards! I need a new job. Maybe in a warmer climate too.
  24. I agree with this. I'm very superstitious about certain things. I was even tought not to kill flying insects while at the DZ. Weird, I know, but makes sence. Don't kill something that flies while at the DZ.
