  6. Now you see that? Michele, I would NEVER have guessed you don't have a college degree - I would have guessed a Lit. or English liberal arts degree. It's because of the way you write with clarity and elegance, and because you don't distract your readers with errors. Conversely, I'm sure there are plenty of degree holders on this site who've fooled me too! (I've met MBAs who couldn't string a few sentences together to form a complete thought. Sad, but y'all just remember to think before you ever judge someone based on their degree(s) or lack thereof.) you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?

    Why not pub?

Happy hour is Wednesday at 7 pm. But there aren't usually that many people in there even then. It's still fun, though.
  12. I think they call this a run-on sentence? That would be a sentence fragment, if anything. You get a gold star! you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?
  13. Um, the fact that you know this is... well... let's just say it doesn't refute flyhi's post! But, you know, good for them and all the Star Wars fanatics out there - having similar interests is the perfect way to meet someone. you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?
  14. Oh my - a thread for me! Generally, I'd say it's very important. In specific situations, it varies. In a professional context (memos, presentations, resumes, etc.) it's absolutely essential. Your written communication conveys not just words, but an image of you - your intelligence, sincerity, and credentials. I saw the first page of a printed Power Point presentation entitled "How To Be An Effective Marketing Manger", and immediately thought, "What an idiot. I wouldn't take him very seriously." In here, it's whatever, but if a post is very poorly written or full of that IM language, I ignore it. And like Wendy said, if a poster goes on and on about stupid people, and he can't even spell, well... pot, kettle... There are several posters whose opinions I completely disregard because they can't even express them correctly. If you want to be taken seriously, pay attention to these details. If you normally do pay attention though, typos and slip-ups are totally forgiven. you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?

  17. BWAHAHAA!! I sing along too! I've actually been to the Copacabana Hotel in Rio (and I'd bet you have too, Wendy, or at least the beach, right?) - I walked through the lobby singing, "Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl..." Good times.
  18. Ahh, there is now some clarity into how deep this discussion reaches. Blues, Nathan You forgot the "" I'll never forget the part when they're in the store looking at each other's tattoos. Changed my life man. That's movie's a treasure - treat it with respect. "What does mine say? Dude!! What does mine say? Sweet!!" No, but seriously, it's like Kennedy said- the original Star Wars trilogy had an enormous impact on the entertainment industry and movie goers of this country, therefore it became part of our culture. Who wouldn't get a reference to Jabba the Hut or Leia's dazzling metal bikini? In fact, internationally popular movies can be a fantastic culture bridge - I've made friends and even learned more Spanish over movie discussions in Latin America. Movies rock. you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?
  19. The culturally and historically invaluable "Dude, Where's My Car?" you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?
  20. It's a joke sweetie. You said you don't care that much about movies, so I replied with a movie quote. If I'd wanted to be mean I would have replied to this with: And THENNNNNN???? But I'm not mean. Besides, I was hoping to not be the only one who thought it was funny... Edit: I wasn't the only one! YAY!!! you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?
  21. Tee hee!! Oh my... you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?
  22. Yeah, what he said. That too....I mean, we are talking about movies right? Blues, Nathan And thennnn???? you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?
  23. And thennn? you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?
  24. I think it's pretty damn selfish of him to say "They're all mine and I can do whatever I want with them! Nyah!" Once Lucas made those movies and released them to theaters, and people paid LOTS and LOTS of money to see them, and then fell in love with them, the movies became 'ours', the viewing public's. He got rich selling them, and we were the ones who bought them (along with the gobs and gobs of merchandise) Now, instead of something timeless and lasting, they have a self-destruct function in the form of Lucas' whims and ego. I know, I know he "technically" owns them, but that doesn't make it right, just legal. you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?
  25. Ohhhh Drrrrroooolllll!!! Costa Rica is INCREDIBLE!! So laid back and beautiful - everywhere you look, it's just gorgeous. And monkeys everywhere, just keep an eye on the trees. And everything else Lou Diamond said. You should definitely go. And take me with you. you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?
