  1. Goodbye brother. Fly free. Michael Fedak D-6139
  2. From the CRWDog Mailing List Hey everyone, Just a few days now till some really cold weather (Bring shorts and sunscreen too). We are in the weekly cold front pattern now so there is a chance of clouds but the saying down here is " Only fools or yankees try to predict Florida weather". If there is any down time I plan to teach on CRW techniques. That seems to me to be more productive than Parabowling. I have enough demo Lightnings for everyone that either requested one by email or put on the sign-up list that they needed one (Thank you PD and Wendy). If you have any doubts whether or not I have one for you then please email me. I will need to charge $20 per demo canopy to cover my cost of having them shipped in. Packin Cathy and her staff will be there all weekend to pack for us. We have some new high-tech toys to debut also. I will be on-site Fri at 8 and Sat/Sun at 7. Breakfast is at the Village Inn downtown (can't miss it) Fri at 7 and Sat/Sun at 6. See you there. Happy Landings, Mike Lewis Dewcrew2@aol.com
  3. Contact Mike Lewis and see what he says. Personally, I'm delighted to work with CRW newbies if they are there to dedicate the weekend to CRW. Michael
  4. From the CRWDog mailing list: Hello everyone, It is only two weeks to the Freeze Your Buns Off Boogie. It will be good to be back in the air with my friends. Saturday and Sunday AM we will dirt dive at 7 and gear up at 8. Contact me if you have any questions. Happy Landings, Mike Lewis Dewcrew2@aol.com

  7. Come to a THEM TOADS boogie. Next one is at ZHills 2/28- 3/1- 3/2. A great place and a great way to learn CRW. Looks like more than 35 world class CRWDogs have signed up to attend and Mike Lewis is organizing ...ain't nobody better than Mike. We'll be putting up some really big stuff and working with pups and newbies all weekend. Nobody there trying to make money off you. Just World Class CRW ...and lots of grins. THEM TOADS is decicated to nothing but having fun, doing world class CRW and sharing what we know with anyone who wants to fly with us. 8. Some years back, somebody decided to CF was more descriptive. Fine by me. Personally, I do CRW. Michael
  9. Howdie Dawgs, We've had a few requests: 1) Can anyone get and or bring demo canopies? 2) All beginners, PLEASE come and play with us!!!!! We're always looking for new dawgs and welcome all levels of experience. The list is growing. Don't know if Chico's coming. If so we'll pair him up with Team Player Keenan as wing and lock up. 10. I hope so. Craig Fenstermaker, Brett Clark, Scott Smith did the video. I hope one of them can provide it. Maybe Bob Lyon could help here? Michael
  11. From the Jack Off To Perris news letter: “Perris Hit and Chug”: Bob Reger, awarded the CRW Booby Prize (booby pacifier) for winning the Hit and Chug contest, TWO days in a row!!!! He beat out all other skydivers, head downers, swoopers, RW. The object was to land close to the Styrofoam cooler, grab a beer and chug. Of course Randy Hall and Reger had to fly a 2 stack before shooting accuracy. On the 1st jump, Reger landed with the cooler just at the end of his feet. On the next, he swooped in, kicked the cooler and launched a beer can, caught it and drank it as he came to a stop. “Hey you freefallers!! Who wants to do CRW and really learn to fly your canopy?” The video is impressive
  12. I don't know of any CRWDogs who jump at Lake Wales. You might give them a call and ask. Sebastian and ZHills are better bets. Michael
  13. To be compatible with other Dogs, all ZP is the way to go. I don't know anyone who jumps anything else. There are three different trims available now and it's kindof complex. If you are thinking of buying one, Rusty Vest at PD would be the guy to consult. I'm not sure of any modern CRW canopies that aren't all zero-p. I know PD offers that option, but I'd be surprised if anyone other than demo jumpers has bought one in years. W
  14. This is a totally for the grins boogie brought to you by THEM TOADSUCKERS. We've always found some way to incorporate CRWPups who are willing to dedicate the weekend to CRW into what we are doing and nobody is better than Mike Lewis at doing this. You will need a PD lightning loaded about 1.3-1.4 (out the door). THEM TOADS will start circling up around 0900 on Friday. You are most welcome and I hope to see you there. Michael
  15. Hi Terry. THEMTOADS are having a fun boogie in the Hills Feb 15-16. High on fun, low on politics. Come join us! Michael
  16. Agreed. With the exception of putting a few (hundred) too many jumps on one, whatever's handy has always worked just fine. Michael I think mine is a 28" F111 pc but in all honesty, it was just what came with the rig. It works fine.
  17. Some good points, Wendy. I had years of problem free CRW with my Racer. (Perhaps I should place the blame on NippleBoy for hanging his nose on my poptop :) With a tightly seated poptop and CRW flaps, the Racer would be an acceptable choice (and a comfortable one). I do appreciate the pin protection a Racer offers. Without the flaps OR a less than PERFECT reserve pack job, there is a definite safety issue. I felt I was a crater waiting for a grid reference. YMMV Michael
  18. Ditto on the PopTops, Bob. I did CRW with a Racer Elite for many years. Always made sure the Hat was snugged down tightly. On one CRW weekend, my PopTop got snagged three times. That was enough for me. The Racer is a nice rig but I won't use one for CRW anymore. I now wear a far less comfortable rig (the price was right :) but it's a safer option. Michael
