    Did a tandem

Congrats Dave! Now, if you value your knees (from what I've been told) get back into that gym fulltime, or quit doing tandems now (even though you just started). It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1

  4. That's what it's about. Same reason people buy the shirts Come to Eloy for X-mas and met him and you'll understand. Family commitments kinda hurt around the holidays. I'm attempting to head west for a day or 2 at New Years, but that may/may not happen. Rantoul is the only thing I can be sure of doing in any given year. Hope to see you all there. 5. Don't get all huffy now young man/ It's not like I expect The Man to make mucho bucks off us, but he's gotta eat too, ya know. If it's no big deal to him, then it's no big deal to me either, but I'm not him, and neither are you. I'm not out to step on anyones toes here. If he says it's ok, then it's ok. No, I haven't met him, and neither have the majority of the registered users I would bet. Hopefully he'll come to Rantoul so I can meet him face to face, shake his hand, and hand him a jump ticket. Oh, I have donated in the past, when I could. I also bought a T shirt thinking he might get a little of that too. It's your life, live it! Help!!

Vinny, it's up to her. Remember, it might not happen. I know, she's here asking for vibes to help her get into the air, but in the end, it's her choice, and no-one should push her either way. Moody, when you're ready, you'll do it, on your own. If you don't ever jump again, don't fret about it. It's a personal choice, and one only you can make. You've been there. You know what it's like. You are a skydiver, whether or not you ever jump again. You are family.
  7. So, to HH "© 1994-2002 Dropzone.com - All rights reserved" means nothing? I'm sure it wouldn't be alot, but it would help defray costs. Make a jumpsuit and stitch "Disney" into it for a team, then ask the Walt Disney Company if it's ok. It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1
  8. Um, HH, hopefully you get some kind of commission for the dropzone.com use, right? If not, I'll wait until you do to order one (I have to wait anyway because of $$$, but this is a better excuse). It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1
  9. Not wishing to sound morbid, but that is what i would expect, Life goes on. Welcome to the Society of Vampires. I finally was able to meet Roger a little over a month ago. I had gone to SDC to do my 100th with Sunshine. I did #100, on Saturday May 4th. I was constantly looking for Roger, heard he was around, but never managed to see him. Much alcohol was consumed that night by the bonfire, and I fell asleep in my semi. Around 6:30 a.m. I just couldn't sleep, so I grabbed my gear and walked up to the loading area, and waited for the hanger to be opened. It was finally, and I just chilled for a few minutes. I manifested for the first load, as a solo. When I walked out to the hanger again, I caught sight of Roger. He smiled and walked over, sticking out his hand. He said "Hi, I'm Roger Nelson. I haven't seen you around before." I replied "Roger! I've been looking forward to meeting you for quite some time! I'm Reverend Jim." His eyes widened a bit, "You're Reverend Jim? The one from Rec Skydiving?" Then he grinned widely, and we chatted for a few minutes. What brought me there, who I was there with, ect. He asked me what I was doing on that jump, and I told him honestly that I was making my 101st jump, and it was to be my first camera jump. We chatted about camera safety, and that he was glad to see I was doing a solo to see what the camera felt like. I had thought I was to be the last out, but it seemed he had a student for that load. Roger and his student were to follow me out. Wow, what a feeling! In the plane, Roger tapped me on the shoulder to remind me to put my helmet on during take off. I showed him that I had it fastened to my chest strap. He just smiled that big Roger Nelson smile and nodded. It was a memorable jump. I know I got a good shot of his student as I was leaving the plane, but I'm not sure if Roger is in frame (I developed negative only, and don't have a film scanner yet). The only regret I have is forgetting to have him sign my logbook for that jump. It's only stamped. I have made it a habit to have every DZO from every DZ I visit sign my logbook. I figured I'd just have him sign it the next time I got down there. That's one blank that will never be filled in. Jump #101. That was, and is, the place for Roger's signature. Rook and Missy, you are in my prayers. Roger, fly free with the Angels. It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1
  10. You're essentially right Opie. I have noticed though, that folding never actually stops. If you watch your task manager, it has peaks and valleys of CPU usage. Whatever CPU cycles are needed by a program it gives up, but it keeps churning with the rest of them. For example, folding on this machine holds a steady 98% most of the time, but drops to about 15% when I open Outlook. Of course, this only lasts a few seconds, then Outlook is loaded into memory and folding peaks right back up to 98%. It's your life, live it! 11. My wife loves skydiving, in theory. She loves skydivers, in theory. She's going to be with me in Rantoul this year, working. According to Beth, she'll probably be working registration. It's a start, since I can't even get her on a plane. See, she loves seeing people jump, but she won't do it. Cheaper that way, I guess. It's your life, live it!
