Wow Sky! That's some video I'd love to see. I was under the impression that the Birdmen suits slowed your freefall quite a bit, and have an awsome glide, but I didn't think they actually provided lift, which would be needed to lift off from the ground, no matter how high the winds were. (Well, except for when the winds get high enough to throw a human around anyway, but that's defeating the purpose.) If this really has been done, I have a newfound respect for those suits, and would love to try one out next year in Rantoul. It's your life, live it! Whew, someone close to what I've done. I'm not alone (on the boring scale)! 6, 10, 19, 24, 27, 40 (some, but there's soooo many more out there to ride), and 48 (Ballys, Luxor, and circus Circus in Vegas. Damn near all of 'em in Atlantic City though). Not many of the rest have piqued my interest, since I started doing #6. Edit to add: #10. How did I miss that the first time around? But seeing as I am an adherent to the teachings of The No Cheap Beer Foundation and posted a link to the rules as listed on that site, I will have to decline my liability for beer on this one. Also being an honorable (sorta) member of the No Cheap Beer Foundation (#398), I can somewhat understand. The catch is, the Beer Rules are in no way, shape, of form linked to the USPA, and therefore are allowed to progress with the times, and include non-USPA publications. They did attempt to talk the Beer Rules into becoming a Group Member at one time, but upon realizing that even non-USPA members should buy their beer, they backed down. Buy your beer Jack.
