The USPA is not a governing body. The manufacturers can set limits, but the USPA can actually only make suggestions. Granted many of these suggestions may make it to law eventually (FARs), but just having them in the BSRs means very little. As far as I know, every tandem maker requires the age of legal majority. Correct me if I'm wrong though. It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1

Wow, didn't know that. Now dig up the makers requirements and let me know what you find. I'm betting the makers still say 18. It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1

Alana, the actual tandem master are not going to answer this. It's actually in the sims that tandem passengers MUST be the age of legal majority, which in most states is 18. Violating that could mean them losing their tandem rating. Look to the south, where a couple of states have a lower legal majority age. Besides that, the only way for it to happen is to become a serious DZ fly (for her), get well known at 1 dz, and get someone to sneak her up. But, by that time she'll probably be 18. Dude, the post you are replying to is almost 2 years old. Besides, are you or are you not forgetting about the +/- 250 feet? Would you also like to explain the low fires? How about the ones we hear have heard about that never did fire and/or fired to late to save the person? It's your life, live it! Coyotes are game animals in and of themselves, Bill. You know that. They were killed off almost to extinction, just like the wolves, for the very reason you state. Proper regulations along with proper hunting seasons work. Wild dogs, just like feral cats, are not the same. It's your life, live it! I hate the "Standardized measurements". You know, like "Fit's Average build male, 5'10" to 6'. I am 6'1" and it was a little snug." Bah! How about some real TORSO measurements? I'm 5'11" to 6' depending on my posture, but anyone that has seen me knows that's mostly legs. If my legs matched my proportions, I'd be 5'6" or 5'7". Does that mean if I sell my rig and say "I'm 6' 185# and it fits me great, that the next 6 footer is gonna be happy? Most likely not. [/rant] It's your life, live it! A wild dog in Wisconsin is put there, not raised there. Any dog chasing game, or any other animal for that matter, may be diseased, rabid, starving, ect. This same animal could be chasing my 5 year old son the next day. It takes a remarkably short time for any, and I do mean ANY housepet to go wild. It's your life, live it! Well, the way I look at it, the line dividing a family pet and a wild animal isn't even a fine one. It's big, bold, and black. I am an avid hunter. Not a sport hunter though, a meat hunter. I hunt and fish for food, not trophys. Back when I was 19 (god, that was like 15 years ago) I was out deer hunting with my trusty 30/06 Remington. I hear brush crashing, and this doe goes flying by my stand at what seemed like mach 2. A second later I hear barking, and out into the field, hot on this deer's trail, is one of the most beautiful German Shepards I have ever seen. It's illegal to hunt deer with dogs here, and at the time there was NO bear season here. I did what any sportsman would have done. I thought it to be a wild dog, and shot it. (hold the flames) Upon walking over, I saw the light green collar, rabies tag, AKC tag, and owners information tag. (ouch) On the same loop was the clasp end and about 3 inches of chain. I called the owner that was on the tag, and informed him that I had just shot his dog. He was NOT happy, at first. Turns out it was a police dog from a K9 unit in the next county. After explaining what I had seen, and the reasons I had done what I did, I was thanked. Even though this was a well trained dog, instinct took over, and he went from Police to hunt mode. The officer said flatly that had he been in my shoes, he would not have hesitated to do the exact same thing. He thanked me for calling, came out and picked up the dog, and I never saw him again, nor did I ever read anything about it. In conclusion, that animal was not confined, which in every way, makes it wild, and fair game. It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1
