You should live around here if you think the gov't doesn't create wealth: how about wealthy gov't workers who don't even go to work or while at work, are working on their own enterprises. Then consider retired gov't workers who are making more than they were working! Lot's of Lincolns and Mercedes coming out of government parking lots. Housing prices are double than in most places. Then there is the beltway bandits who have literally surrounded the capital sucking of the big tit getting fat. Gov't creates wealth believe me. Funneling money from one place to another doesn't create wealth. This applies to the government as much as it applies to banks and to stock traders. But if the Fed Res. creates money out of thin air and that money eventually turns into real estate, cars and diamonds, then that is creating wealth. I guess it depends too on your definition of wealth, for instance you're wealthy so long there's not tubes hanging off your body or a drool cup around your neck. Let alone sucking off that air bottle. Rich is a state of mind.

A man and wife team create Bebo.com in 2005. Sold it to AOL in 2008 for $850 million, that the owners made over a half a billion dollars. During the dot com bust the firm lost ground especially to competitors like FB. The original ownes bought it back from AOL for 1 million. The site doesn't work. Te buy back was probably just having fun. As there is no way Bebo will surpass FB. Jeesh, how do make money like this.... BTW: Falco who bought Bebo while CEO of AOL is now CEO of Univision which topped NBC during rating sweeps this year.

So predictable: Legislators/ Wallstreet/ Stock Markets
OHCHUTE replied to OHCHUTE's topic in Speakers Corner
i dont understand why you keep repeating something that is so easily proven wrong. all the banks make public filings. all their debt is right there on the 10k's. anyone can see it, its not swept under the rug. its in plain sight. normally i would say you didnt know that because you dont understand finance. but ive repeatably shown you this. so its obvious you are just not all there. i am be playing chess with a pigeon. You seem so small and insignificant when you refer to yourself utilizing a lower case "i". You don't have a clue. Debt is gone. http://www.globalresearch.ca/the-us-fiat-dollar-ponzi-scheme-digital-money-used-to-purchase-toxic-assets-from-the-too-big-to-fail-global-banks/5336990 http://www.activistpost.com/2012/09/qe-infinity-fed-buying-more-toxic.html -

First you charge $250K now you say its free. You don't understand the first word of sentence needs capitalized so how could you know anything about where to put a period, let alone a decimal point? Better go back to shredding all that bank ponzi toxic debt that the public has forgotten about that has been conveniently swept under the rug with new bankster balance sheets. -

Separate paragraphs in my post represent different ideas. You've assume wrong that Congress people deal specifically with odd lot trades by your interpretations. The paragraphs represent different ideas. Many rich people are not Congresspeople. There are multiple aspects to insider information, not just odd lots etc. So your fee is $250,000 for access to a large percentage of the market trading information that is unavailable to the general public? Pretty much proves my point. So the odd lot, buyers (mullets) pave the way for the rich guys (your clients) to see and learn trends, that the mullets only suspect is happening via watching Cramer, TV etc. Buying your reports provides a distinct advantage IMHO when doing multibillion dollar millisecond trading. The reason the Feds are working to make it more transparent. Guess you're worried your reports will be worthless once they are free for everyone to see trading trends. This is the typically BS we get from banks. They keep people in the dark to mask their crimes, greed etc. So tell us, since you don't pay $250,000 for the information yourself, do you take a sneak peek prior to doing your own trading? -
So predictable: Legislators/ Wallstreet/ Stock Markets
OHCHUTE replied to OHCHUTE's topic in Speakers Corner
the article is about odd lots and has nothing to do with congress. odd lots are not reported to the consolidated tape but are NOT anonymous. they are still reported to FINRA and fully regulated. the author and OP does not understand the financial markets. I have no idea if Congress is front running legislation and neither does the OP. I will chalk that entire part of his post to his opinion and ignore it. i suggest everyone else does. with that said, there are teams of analyst who measure legislative risk and make market calls on them. there are teams of equity traders who act quickly based on their interpretation of a Pol's words. This causes market fluctuations. nothing odd about that. no different that reacting to an earnings report. You are kidding, that you have no idea about Congress betting prior to decisions made. How much do you pay for the reports? How can you trust anyone who chooses not to capitalize "i" in the first word of a sentence. -
So predictable: Legislators/ Wallstreet/ Stock Markets
OHCHUTE replied to OHCHUTE's topic in Speakers Corner
Our legislators are like stock brokers who have insider information and their own stock market accounts. First, they claim the country is going to ruin, they lay people off, don't fund programs to cause pain etc., all while they are shorting the market. Then, 24 hours before they make an announcement that the crisis "might" be solved, they reverse their stock positions, get in low and make out like bandits long before they supply news to the public. The Dow is up $233 as of noon today upon news that a deal is eminent. They knew this several days ago that a deal would be forthcoming. Did you have info like this, that a deal was in the works, prior to you making decisions about your stocks? You might think you live in a Democracy where your elected officials have your best interest at heart, but in reality they're really tied to wall street and are only worried about their own wallets. Congress: Wall Street Players. Citizens: Mullets Partly the reason the rich get richer is that they can afford to pay for inside information. http://www.washingtonpost.com/business/economy/public-not-privy-to-a-chunk-of-stock-trades/2013/10/09/5853205c-3103-11e3-8627-c5d7de0a046b_story.html -
C-27J Spartans - From the factory to the Tucson boneyard

A friend of mine was a auditor at GAO. He came up with billions of waste and reported it. Never heard anything about it. Then he said: even paying me to find the waste, was too a waste as nothing was ever done about the waste. It's now out of control Plane looks like it might make a good jump plane: Can you buy this mothballed stuff? -
They want to default it, as there's not enough money to pay all the bills. Just like bankruptcy, a firm gives the suppliers a haircut. Perhaps Social Security will get cut back... once the "reorganization" occurs.

Takes money to make money. If you have no money it's hard to make money. That simply. Look at Bezos. He started in his garage. Now he's bought the Washington Post for $250 million and he's started Amazon Fresh, getting into the food business. Basically it's just play money. When you have so much of it you can do a lot. Gates it now trying to own food production in Africa via Monsanto. In fact, the guy who owns the seeds for food, will win. In addition, Corp America does't want small business. They want the small business owner to close shop and work for the corp at minimum wage. Haevn't you notice the change of Main Street. They're all franchises, stock firms.

Boehner: his gym "essential" - food inspections, not so much
OHCHUTE replied to billvon's topic in Speakers Corner
I would say that republicans are acutely responsible in the case of the current shut down, but politicians in general are chronically responsible for negotiating matters of authorization and policy during the appropriations, continuing resolution, and/or debt service processes. Congress has ADHD. Not really when you figure most all shorted the market last week and are reaping lots of money from insider trading. Now they'll bank on market going up once they fund the deficit. The public is played like suckers. -

Vietnam General Vo Nguyen Giap Dies at 102
OHCHUTE replied to masterblaster72's topic in Speakers Corner
That's the second jab you've taken at Vietnam, in addition to the "piece of crap country" comment earlier. I have been to Vietnam, it is a great country with a lot of promise for the future, offering far more than "low wage worker potential." In a couple of decades time it will be much farther along than it is now. I don't recall the first jab about V-Nam, but suggesting it is dumb to bomb low wage workers is not a jab. I love buying cheap shirts made in Vietnam. Hoorah for cheap labor. So tell me about the high technology they're producing. Yes I'm aware China is outsourcing to Vietnam much like what Japan did using China which incidentally gave China the idea they'd become the manufacturer of the world. If it's so good there, move there. -

Seems dumb to wage war with low wage worker potential. Shirts now made in Vietnam. Bomb low wage workers, you've got to be kidding. The reason there will never be wars like this again is that since low wage workers are in such high demand, Wall Street can only hope to keep them alive. -
How could it fail if the feds pay the premiums or train the guy living under the bridge how to use a computer. We're going to hear people getting free computers so they can sign up. We pay twice: we pay for the treatment, and for the insurance so how could O-care be cheaper? Where prior to O-care we just footed the bill for the medical treatment. If docs would get off the hipocratic oath, many people would live better. They'd take better care of themselves knowing if they don't have the money to pay for medical service they wouldn't get treated.

Constitutional aspects of a closed US government
OHCHUTE replied to OHCHUTE's topic in Speakers Corner
So you are saying the gov't is open? How could it be open if it is closed? There's actually been a silent coup. They're not on the job yet arranging to be paid for not working. If they are not working, it's closed. Much like if McDonald's is closed you can't get a hamburger. What is the solution: start a new government that is open. We need a press conference to start a new interim government. Also, how long are you going to let to go on? With divisions so divided they could carry this on till the Presidential election. -
If the Republicans would keep their mouths shut and simply let Obumercare fail on it's own ( 7 sign ups in Louisiana, MD website failed, etc) they'd be much further ahead. But no, they want to interrupt the failure by trying their own means to make if fail making them look dumb. For Godsakes, just let it fail on its own weight. Exchanges don't work. Hard to get trading partners, and hard to get people signed up.

The WP is not right leaning in any way. We'll see what Bezos does with it.

Constitutional aspects of a closed US government
OHCHUTE replied to OHCHUTE's topic in Speakers Corner
If the government is closed, it is impossible to petition the gov't for being closed, as in the instance that the sidewalk to the MKL statue is closed. Hence, your first Amendment rights are blocked. You are unable to petition, unless of course if the gov't is opened enough to accept the petition. Your freedom is blocked, by a closed government. Try: Middle class party comprised of most Americans who want responsible government without having to fund the rich and poor excesses. And end to corporate public stock firm influence. Single term Congresspeople. There is no suggestion of an armed rebellion, only legal recourse against an entity that is closed. Closed is closed. -
Constitutional aspects of a closed US government
OHCHUTE replied to OHCHUTE's topic in Speakers Corner
If the government is closed, does that mean we have no government? What are the Constitutional provisions that allow for a closed, shut down, government. If the current government is closed, non functioning, does that mean WE THE PEOPLE, can form an entirely new government. Inquiring minds wanted to know....what WE THE PEOPLE options might be faced with a non functioning government. Starting a new party might work... as both parties don't seem to be working for us. -
Yep, they totally circumvented the insurance sales industry where licensed agents, who have the knowledge and experience, are left out. Instead, they've elected to have the inexperienced counsel the novice health insurance buyer a recipe for disaster.
