Anyone know what happened to Amy Ativisimo? she was a packer at SDC, her work email and personal phone got cut off. I was a good friend. It's good to be the pilot.
  3. Very cool- As an RC pilot for 12 years-- all I can say is GOD DAMB-- that is one hell of a pilot! Cya Chris It's good to be the pilot.
  4. Anyone know how the doors are getting approved (if at all)? Via STC or field approvals? Chris It's good to be the pilot.
  5. Thanks for all the info! Chris It's good to be the pilot.
  6. Just for the record, I am familiar with skydiving ops, bieng a pilot with over 5000 hoursand a ATP, as well as 2500 hours flying jumpers- I am also an A&P IA, as well as a jumper with over 500 jumps (D24286). Trying to help my employer who operates Caravans to expand the bussiness and fly jumpers. Hey-- it helps us all if we have more jump planes. Chris It's good to be the pilot.
  7. Thanks bob-- I appreciate the info It's good to be the pilot.
  8. Thanks for the info, my biggest problem is trying to make it legal for my employer. I have built and installed doors in the past, for twin otters and 182's, but cant find any information for a 208 caravan. My current employer which operates 6 caravans wants to turn one or two into weekend jump ships. Chris It's good to be the pilot.
  9. Looking for a C208 jump door or plans to one. Any information will help. It's good to be the pilot.
  10. Was at the DZ today with beautiful blue skies, moderate winds, rig ready to go- but was on call, so no jumping- it sucks! Did get to load the plane a few times though. Took some pics too- Chris It's good to be the pilot.
  11. Never had a problem. Have flown commercialy with my rig as carry on 6 times round trip since Sept. 11. Flown from chicago to Boston/logan, Green bay to Dallas, Chicago to Portland, and a few others. They take an extra look at the Xray machine but thats it. Chris It's good to be the pilot.
  12. 521:3 Old 7 cells dont always open First pro pack was a bit to messy Sloppy packing can rip a center cell out of a Crossfire Cut aways are fun! Chris It's good to be the pilot.
  13. Sounds like a great idea!!! Right until the point where the plane starts falling back down again- and your under it! Not to mention the risk of structural damage and possible engine damage. If your pilot/DZO is smart- they will never allow it. Want an e-ticket ride? BASE jump. Chris It's good to be the pilot.
  14. Is sunshine looking for spankings again? Chris It's good to be the pilot.
  15. I just took a canopy control course today. I have to say I learned a hell of alot- mostly I realized how little I do know and how much I have to learn. Thank you Scott Miller form PD. How about you? Have you taken a course and what did you get out of it? Chris AKA GoNzO It's good to be the pilot.
  16. Drinking is all good- Only sure thing I know about it is that swooping after a few beers or 3 hurts- and I have the brusies and video to prove it. Congrads on your sobriety, I respect you highly for it. I do have one question? It askes if you have trouble sleeping after drinking-- well, I sleep better after a few, does this turn a negative into a positive? Swoop sober and long.... Cyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ChRiS AKA GoNzO It's good to be the pilot.
  17. First time- Low pull contest at Quincy 2000 for a case of beer- I lost- and still drank free beer. Second time- Exit 182 at 2K- a little head down and a pilot chute between my legs, worked out ok that time tahnks to a quick opening sabre. Third and LAST time ever- 4 way out of an otter- everybody elese pulled at 2k lower than the planned 4k. watched the last open, still in a track--- dumped and blew the center cell out of my crossfire! Yea, a crossfire!!! A HP canopy at 1.8 wing loading will not land all that well without the support of the center cell so I chopped it, at 900'. Nice raven reserve and put it in the peagravel pit- NOT going to do that again! Chris
  18. And on the lighter side of things: Two words. Bandit Jump. Just make sure your friend holds the brake on the right side. and oh yea- Pray-- cause you got a good chance of making this your last jump. Pay your cash and jump the 182 at your DZ. Take it from the "been there, did that" crowd, there is a reason we have rules and regs- to keep us alive. Laters- Chris
  19. 1946 Aeronca Champ-- flew it and jumped it with my dad at the controls. 1956 182- but we have all been there, good birds. It aint low if it opens and you can land it- Chris
  20. Yea Sunshine- That was a fun jump- Wish there were more of em. Chris It's good to be the pilot.
  21. Consider it sent! It's good to be the pilot.
  22. Thanks- I fully intend to do MUCH more jumping this year since I wont be flying full time. Should be a good year, as soon as it stops snowing! Chris Its still good to be the pilot
  23. For all the tandem masters or pilots out there. There is a doctor who gives First Class FAA medicals- if you dont need a EKG- for 50 bucks in the Cleveland area. Let me know if you want his number. Chris
  24. Only problem is that we don’t know how many jumpers go there and check it out. I agree its good reading for anyone, but unfortunately it’s underused. A forum may well yield a more willing environment to exchange information. Information that would without a doubt be beneficial to all of us. Chris
  25. How about a forum specifily for jump pilots? Would be a great way to share information with other jump pilots as well as giving jumpers a place to present questions. Got to give Diverdriver props for his site to- www.diverdriver.com What do ya think? CYAAAAAA Chris
