My non-skydiving wife has been going since before I started Skydiving. Her dad and brother used to jump. Now I'm the only one left in the family. My wife looks forward to the all day all night drinking, sleeping in, no kids, no pressures, leave your morals at home vacation. It all depends on what kind of S.O. you have. Cool, I seen them at a show this weekend (redneck engineering). I've been looking for something different todo and seen their red and black mutant Buell. I've got some killer ideas that I need to put in metal. I've done some paint for Midwest Choppers in my spare time (rare nowdays). Also been slinging some cool skydiving helmets. (If anyone's seen opie's helmet that was me ) I love bikes but I think the chopper craz is out of hand. At this show last weekend I seen a rich yuppie punk pull up on a store bought with kahki cargo shorts, white polo, black socks and black tennis shoes (of course high maintainance bitch in tow) -- what is wrong with this picture!!! I say if you got the money and can't build it your self buy a boat!! With anything custom you need to be a wrench and wrench all the time after every ride or it's going to fall apart. Ya in might have cost $30 grand but it is not a Harley or will not be dependable as a Harley. I have to say Jesse!! He is the inovator. If is was not for the success and responce to motorcycle mania 1 then American Chopper might not be around. Jesse is a real dude that started out in his garage getting trashed by everybody for the bikes he built. But he kept doing it because that is what he loved to do. He didn't do anything to gain attention to himself for that reason. OCC builds theme bikes to gain attention. Don't get me wrong I watch American Chopper every week and really dig there bikes. BUT Jesse set the bar years ago. Jesse, Chica, Billy Lane, Yaffe How many people have heard of them before discovery channel did there specials. I have been following some of there work years before TV. Which brings me to another point how many people know who Von Dutch is? I'm 30 years old and have been tinkering with hot/street rods and bike since I was a kid and it kills me to watch some spoiled kid walk in and buy a $75 VonDutch hat and not even know of the man is whos design they wear!!! Go to Universal Studios!!! When we went over the 1999-2000 New Years for the Millenium boogie at Z-Hills (Christmas Present from my wife-included all jumps as well) All of us went there. My wife had a broken ankle at the time and we rentted her a wheel chair. Well worth the $7!!! We got to move to the front of every line with a 15 min wait on any ride!!!! We did every ride in both parks in one day! Chris

I had the pleasure of sitting w/ Lugi a couple of years ago at Rantoul. He hinted around at this canopy. At the time his big plans were to deploy and dock w/ Fritz in freefall. He mentioned the weight and I beleive he said it was to get their fall rate together. Also we asked him where he started his hook on this canopy and he mention as either 1000-1200 ft AGL for a 270. He also mentioned no cypress because it WOULD fire in his hook. But this was a couple of years ago and I beleive I have burnt many brain cells since so my memory IS fogged

SALT LAKE CITY — Police ticketed a man who parachuted off a downtown building but got tangled on a pole, leaving him suspended above the street. Carson Douglas Klein made the jump Thursday with two other men off the roof of the 27-story American Towers condominiums. His friends descended safely and fled, but Klein's parachute got caught on a light pole, leaving him hanging about 15 feet above the pavement. Guards at the building helped Klein down and detained him. Klein, 27, was ticketed for trespassing and faces up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine if convicted, Detective Kevin Joiner said. Joiner said the thrill-seekers known as "base jumpers" manage to illegally parachute off Salt Lake City's tall buildings about once or twice a year.

The most recent death at Skydive Chicago brings the total number to 11 the number of people killed in accidents at Skydive Chicago since the facility opened in 1993. Anytime is a good time as long as you are stable on your belly. At Skydive Chicago Roger has his students (12th or 13th jump) Sit flying and moving into head down within their student progression. Find a good free flier at your dropzone and don't be affraid to ask questions. Buy a couple or a dozen coach jumps. It's better to spend the money and learn right then to get bad muscle memory and have to relearn. Just remember the ground comes up ALOT faster!!! Don't get caught low. My normal breakoff from a freefly jump is 5,000ft This gives me time to really check my airspace and track alittle extra if needed. Chris

I have the v3 riser housing and tru-lok toggles as well on my v3. When they first come out and not avalable on the market. I had a long disscussion with Dave Starr at Quincy (2000 I believe). I purchased the riser housings then and ordered a set of risers with housings and tru-loks as well. Dave told me of no prolems then with test jumpes and I have experienced no problems with my v3 at all due to the housings. The way I look at them is 1 more safety precaution is always invited on my rig as long as it is proven. The tru-loks will eliminate the brake coming unstowed on opening issue. When new the pins fit really tight into the riser. Even with a few hundred jumps on my current risers they still seem to lock in nice. An issue with the housings that Dave told me is a line delevoping on my top riser flap that from wear. He suggested placing the main riser under the flap covering the reserve risers. I have a v3 that was manufactured in 97 (The one w/ the tag stating do not place main risers under this flap). I mentioned this to Dave at the time and was told they did that in the beginning. But there are no issues with placing the under that flap now or was there then. It was just a precaution because they had not proven a problem did not exist. He places his risers under that flap and has no issues. I have no experience with the javelin housings. As all my friends that own javelins have relative workshop housings in their javelin risers. And no issues on riser flaps opening while headown Chris
