link not working. But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."
-
My rig has a new skyhook in it,... AND now I lay awake nights THINKING,...that If ever I pull my reserve I have a piece of "new Tech" that in order to save my ass, it has to release??? (For the reserve pilot chute to fully deploy) I gave my life to Bill B. and John S. a long time ago, about the only thing these two agree upon is that a RSL is a good idea. And I trust them! But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."

ditto ! But you get extra points for trying to stay current!! Seriously, that's the right attitude...just show up on opening day at any and I do mean any northern dz and just count the number of individuals that won't or Don't get any recurrancy training, and just sit back and watch the fun, err,...I mean carnage... Buyer Scams: Western Union and Certified "Cheques"
ChrisD replied to j_ung's topic in Security and Scam Alerts
Get on the phone, call the home DZ, "Do you know this person?" Do they have a phone? Check the serial numbers with the manufacturer! Get refrences, most all of the bigger sales/hobby type's are expecting this and they have established good reputations... If you just sit back and don't bother to be proactive at all then I say in some respects you deserve to be scammed! If someone can't wait for a personal check to clear, if you are unable to verify who you are dealing with, if someone refuses to send their gear to a established rigger...then screw that and move on!!! It can be a small community out there and I personally dont trust anyone who uses a fake profile or refuses to provide at least a minimum of verification!! AGAIN ALL THE MORE REASON that this site should verify all original posteer's USPA lic in the classified section!!! Ever get asked for your lic at some of the bigger drop zones? THAT'S because your lic is automatically being checked when you manifest!! There is no room for non-skydivers to be selling gear!! EVER!!! But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump." -

I just got John Carlson to sign my logbook. Some of the most memorable (positive) moments I've ever had were with YOU guys back in the 70s'. I wish I had my old logbook,...At Orange they gave out a handsome one and it was full of notes and such...from people like Dan P. He took the time to teach me how to pack...at Orange and then again more fully in Quincy. Howard, Don, and Butch, and a whole host more... I'm so glad for you guy's "back in the day" as you put it, and I'm ever more gratefull your still here!!! C But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump." -

Thanks for the heads up,...finally had to get the "flight attendants" to stick a card in the thing to shut it off...two of the attendants expressed their concern and indicated they had "had it" as well, but they wish to keep their jobs...has anyone else had this expeirience??? thanks airtwardo travelling Delta in feb... C But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."

Nevermind the passangers I just took a trip with Delta and WHAT THE F$%^&$ is up with the flat screen tv's that you can't turn off the adds ten inches from your face!!! I mean this has gone to far... no sleep, tired, back hurts, and this flashing ad for gigo and an escallade jamming my brain like some kind of episode from the "Prisioner" tv show! C total bull shit! So you were pimping your MOM.... Was it a really nice rig.... Killler.... I'm JOKING...... It was green and very, very heavy, I didn't start out pimping my mom, right away anyways... C But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump." -
OO"H no mr Chris, I'm not dissin newegg, I like them, I was commenting on Tiger...Tiger seems to have a less than reliable return and slow shipping...I have returned more than a few items to them and compared to newegg they are slow and cumbersome. Newegg is more akin to amazon, they go the extra mile with everything and returns are usually problem free. Tiger also seems to specialize in "last years stuff." If it's a few yers old or didn't work in the first place it frequently showes up on Tigers webb site... But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."

It was nice for a while, above 14 though, keep on trucking and if your up this way let me know...I saw your utube post...looking good... keep up the good work. Let me know when yo make your A!!! C But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."
-
I generally avoid Tiger...they are a second hand store...newegg, micro center, etc...You can't go wrong with the eVGA Classifieds...The Asus with the copper backplanes are nice as well. I wholeheartedly reccomend Raid 0 for speed, not for redundency, rudundant raid arrays generally are a real pain and despite what you read about them they frequently have issues with recovery......just back everything up immediatly, and I do mean back up everything...the ssd's are great, most all of the bugs are out... Overclocking works but at the cost of stability...big power supplies!! I mean 1200W and up if you have multiple drives...seems to help with stability...Watch out for windows 8. Stick with intel phurchase the fastest chip you can afford. BUY A TOWER CASE, why? Because of the ability to mix and match, to be able to reconfigure add stuff and modify things...blue ray disc's are still very pricey! Build it your self! My ex's divorce order says "I can't bring my children with me (as PIC) unless it has more than 23 seats." for real! But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."

http://www.parachutehistory.com/men/sanbornl.html A link I found. No waivers? I had to bring my mother...and as it was in those days, staff at Orange started hitting on my mom...Long story short: got my fist rig from someone my mom met! But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump." -
Normally my sarcasim is pointing out that the manufacturers can only do so much...If you are the one that mistakenly sets your brakes above the little metal ring...If you are the one that traps your bridle so that it will never release..."you can't fix stupid," BUT what if we can do something about it??? This whole thing was started by Brian G., and I thank him for this, I certianly can use constant reminders, no harm right? But his retelling of the story was that this particular hang happened to the same person TWICE. I'm not ging to second guess a fellow jumper with thousands of jumps...But this one has kept me up at night wondering why it happened twice to the same person. Being a newbie I personaly do what the aformentioned and Brian reccommends and what PD lists as the alternate way up from the bottom...BUT and this is a big but...more than one gear/pin check has had to be redone because the local S & T & A dos not share the same view!!! But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."

I sympathize with your plight. It is very difficult to just go out and find "a good neuro," type guy/girl. I have walked away from more than a few...One place recommended to me, by well meaning but total buffoon’s, didn't have a ramp...ALLTHOUGH their major percentage of patients all were neuo types...this is the kind of stuff you notice after you have been thru the mill so to speak. Other "signs" are not so easy to spot. I can tell you right now TO DITCH THE BONE BENDER! Yes I agree that many have benefited from the manipulations but if you have something on an x-ray...chiropractors generally can't do shit for you and IT'S generally at the expense of: time, money, and pain. YOUR: TIME, MONEY, AND PAIN. Spaulding Rehab has a back care center as well as New England Deaconess as well as the Baptist Hospital. If you want to get better allow the possibility of traveling!!!!! I can't stress this enough!!! Local neuro guys are good, but they don't specialize, local guys are the jack of all trades and they also don't like to have their pt's walk out on them!!! I really didn't start to get better, and I never will fully recover, but getting better took walking away from some...shit it took walking away from a lot of asshole doctors to find the ones that really had their act together. Good luck PM me if you want. But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."

Someone correct me here?? The velcro tab is to ensure slack upstream of the pin, (Kind of a stick this here for dummies.) the most applicicable location seems to be on the top flap or close by....What if we put the velcro tabs on the bridle itself? ya I know the hook section might scratch the container?? Another beer another day. We can put in a small magnet and a colored tab. But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."
