Wing loading is for landing info not openings. You will find this hard to believe but: if you double the wing load you will only increase the opening force by 10%. This guy has a line dump problem. If a canopy opens soft once all one needs to do is control the variables and it will open soft every time. I was just refrencing sarcasim again,... the PD chart starts off with: "Student, Novice, Int., Adv., Exp., MAX" This here is a case of an individual using a canopy, who is by --- declaring his wing loading--- that he is not just a bigginner, not just an advanced or expert canopy pilot, BUT HE IS OFF THE CHART GOOD, this kid is soo hot of a canopy pilot he has decided to use a combination of his own choosing that is off the chart so to speak, this expert however can also post utube vids of someone just clearing a BARBED WIRE FENCE BY LIFTING HIS FEET AND THEN ROLLING/ CRASHING ON A ROAD...(the comment then was and this is a direct quote from another post>>>> "How do I extend the glide of my Spectre??????????" What aircraft incident are you referring to at Lodi? Does this mean you won't jump at Perris, either? Here is a nice link to a non-usa .gov site that list's the AD's for the DH-6. The FAA upon reviewing the aircraft in questions' maintenance log book was unable to find a log entry for a required visual inspection. If you examine the ad list you will also see that many of the "required" ADs' have been cancelled! The FAA usa list has more than this overseas list it's just that this site is more understandble... http://services.casa.gov.au/airworth/airwd/schedules/ad_display.asp?sched=under&toc=dhc-6 Anyone is free to do a search for FAA actions, I reccommend anyone who is interested do same, as compared with speading misinformation and inuendo... I think the point Quag has raised,... "How can a DZ require you to equip a Certificated Reserve with a Non-Certificated device that might fowl that device?" Mr. John Sherman's Quote, as well,... is what has been raised, thanks once again to the kid who is making backyard canopies and ground launching from his bumper.... WHY isn't the cutter assembly located on the pack tray so that in case it "fowl" ('s) the reserve pin still functions??? I may not have enough time to pull the reserve, and this may be a moot discussion, but I certianly don't like thinking that my aad could lock up my reserve, even if it turns out the physics are not in my favor!
