It still is something to be feared!!!!! But Mr. Speer gets the ultimate kudo award for doing something , when others only dreamed!!! He put his money and reputation on the line in Gatlenburg/ Pigen Forge before many of you were even born! he is truly someone that should get long overdue recognition for his contribution to skydiving!!!! he really did sacrafice to make something happen for the betterment of skydiving and he did this against overwhelming odds!!! But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."

Tell that to the chicken! Luv the new pic btw! What concerns me is the amount of verbal instructions that may or may not be subject to an individuals interpertation regarding this post! There is a world of difference writing about something and comparing it with pictures. I mention this again because of my concern with the op's statment about instant openings. An instant opening at terminal can really screw with your body! I just want to be really clear and see what they are doing rather than read about it. Your idea about flaking and this part to the side or that side etc.,,, Way too much subjective information being passed around,...

3. Horizontal drift a. Novice freeflyers sometimes drift laterally in freefall. (1) An experienced coach can correct the problem. (2) On solo jumps, freeflyers should practice movement perpendicular to the line of flight (90 degrees to jump run heading). (3) Separation from other groups can be enhanced by tracking perpendicular to the line of flight at a routine breakoff altitude. b. Experienced freeflyers must also be aware of lateral movement when coaching novices or performing dives involving horizontal movement. c. All skydivers on loads mixing freeflyers and traditional formation skydiving must consider the overall effect of the wind on their drift during freefall. d. As a general rule, faster-falling groups should leave after slower-falling groups particularly when jump run is flown against a strong headwind. 4. Faster-falling groups should delay canopy flight downwind and remain in position to allow jumpers who exited before them, but who fell slower, to deploy and then turn downwind also.

The poor thing is about 17 years old. What does that make it in pussyyears? 105? It is the most misereable thing I have ever come across... Every time you would get near it, it would lash out with a claw or try to bite, and it was a viscious biter... It's a little emaciated at the moment, but it's hobbling around with a nasty limp. She isn't crying aloud, or seem to be in much pain, cripes how do I juge the amount of pain or do I even have the right to judge? I mean just because it looks a little nasty to me,... I kind of figure the thing has deserved a little time, or a little time more considering the fight this thing has given life, it clearly is fighting right to the end... I'm kind of hope'n that I walk down the stairs some morning, soon, and find that she has moved on , peacfully during the night, just so we don't have to make this decision, but is this cruel? she can still manage to clean herself, so there isn't any nasty smell, we talked with the vet and as you can suspect the vet is more than happy to "Perform the final act of kindness,..." YA FOR a Hundred and fifety bucks!!! Now there's an unbiased decision, ya right...and for an additional 80 bucks we can get a brass, (imitation) vase to stick our beloved pussy in??? I suppose we could do a "do it yourself" type of job? I mean the bury the poor thing in the yard, not a do it yourself euthanasia...My dog is bury'd in the yard, but the dog and pussy barely tolerated each other,.... I guess You can tell there's not a lot of love lost between us, but on the other hand I did get attached to the little thing, some kind of fear/ respect for the things tenacity and constant defiance over the years... But I'm havin a real hard time deciding when is the time, I just don't want to make this decision.... AND YES, I know its my girlfriends pussy, and ultimatly her decision, but she isn't being much help either, she dosent't want to decide! Cant say I blame her. I suppose she is looking for some leadership in this area, kind of the John Wayne macho thing, just grabbb the issue by the horns so to speak and right or wrong live with the decision?? But I feel that if I do something like that it's a bit of a set up in that now if I'm wrong, and in this decision the guy is always wrong, I'm in a no win situation?? If this decision gets left up to me no matter how I handle this pussy issue I'm not going to come out on top??? Argghhh, Help??? C But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."

You might as well jump in with both feet and design a patch or some other marketing stuff at this point??? -

Some modeling shows that the forward throw (relative to airmass) for a headdown jumper can be 200m (~650ft) greater than that of a belly jumper at jumprun airspeed of ~80kts (and even more at higher airspeeds, obviously). My model pretty much agrees with that. Yes, but it's a "model." What I'm finding out is that in this world of individual flyers, this world of upside down cones of probability, is what you have pointed out in the first place and that is different groups can do different things... Therefore....this is a highly variable disscussion and your modeling arguments can be used by anyone with an opposing viewpoint! In a sense it dosen't matter if freeflyers go before belly flyers, or belly flyers go before freeflyers. Because of the variability issues you raise apply to both groups equally! You exit an aircraft that is moving at 144 feet per second? YES OR NO----- What is the effect wind resistance wise on the ballistic trajectory??? This is a loaded question, because untill yo have actuall data...YOUR all just making a wag!!! WAG = WILD ASS GUESS. With affection to you all...

Skydive Jump Statistics North America

Real statistics get ignored because they are way too difficult to understand unless you have taken : 2 college classes in "Research Methouds," 1 class in ethics, and or moral dellemias, 3 classes in statistics, which means you have passed calculus, an equivelant class in experiment design... Now raise your hand if you have done the previous work???? I love Fox news research, they get on the phone and call up individuals and then report on their "research" then way too many people belive what they have to say, (more lies,) This is the big problem with statistics: you need to understand the very limited presentation of information, which in turn implies you have to have an understanding of the variables and issue in the first place, which finally means you have to understand statistics at a level that 99 peercent of the population is unable to understand....try telling 99 percent of the population>>>>that they are the ones that don't understand.... and the real scarey shit is after all of this and a few years of practical experience, the bottom line>>>> YOU CANNOT COMPARE APPLES WTH ORANGES,... Which means the original poster is full of shit! And is lying.. Additionally intro statistics classes don't do "case studies." (Another lie.) I only baited this dipshit because I sometimes can amuse myself by reading my own prose, and really bad spelling a couple of days from now -
If you owe child support in Americka, you already know the answere to this! Just imagine the, mostly male, competition for food, any food, cause every penney you get is taken from you and goes to pay your E'xs "pool cleaner," (true story),...so It's no surprize that in the name of protecting children, that decaying shit on the side of the road is also whitheld from starving men!!! But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."

I'll tell ya right now I'll do everything I can too make Taunton grow and prosper, them's two great people right there,... Have you actually been to this airport? What amenities and facilities do they have for experinced jumpers? Is there a picture of the landing area? Is it a JUMPER ONLY kind of place??? Any AFF or student program??? Will wing suit instruction be offered??? Is there any real world, boots on the ground type of reporting you can share about Taunton??? Perhaps you should buy a squirrel??? Before you send people into the deseret.... But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."

A number of good, common sense reply's mentioned already,... An excellent reply would include the advance reccomondation that this was something to consideer before "downsizing." Lets see, by playing this out a little... "cant reach hacky, becuse mussles are in the way." Do I have this little picture correct??? Then you need to stop using this equipment... RIGHT NOW! Cause yo ant going to make it to the point where your ever going to be flexible enough!!!! But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."

You asked and this is your quote: "What is the danger level of the wind tunnel" ? Wind tunnels are not 100 percent safe! There are a number of incidents involving wind tunnels, there is no association or group other than some insurance companies keeping records for any of us to peruse thru, so this fact makes it very difficult to get a real idea of just how dangerous and what types of injuries they produce. I know of more than one fractured neck. I know of at least 2 concussions in my presence at a local wind tunnel. I know that as your experience increases your individual crash rate goes down... That guy standing there, by the door, employed by your respective wind tunnel, THEY ARE NOT THERE TO HOLD YOUR HAND... If you have doubts about a wind tunnel, don't do it! I have more respect for many individuals that back away from some activities than the multitude of lemmings that get pressured into activities they don't have the experience, (darwinian experience) to physically handel all of the continginces that may arise... You have already admited your nervous, this puts yu so far behind the curve, safety wise, your a danger and you have yet to even begin...

Skydive Jump Statistics North America

What statistics class would that be??? It's March 21 here in the USA. Most all college classes are winding down. How do you plan to compare time weighted events with linear events? Do yo have an independant variable? How are you going to integrate dependent factors? Or is this just some type of rough histological comparison? Do you have any research planned? What database(s) are you ging to use for your motorcycle crash data? what comparison variables are you going to use and how are you going to use them, I mean for your chi-square rough data, I mean to see if there are any interrellated associations? What paradigm(S) are you going to use for regression??? Is this just some sort of comparison bullshit or do you have a inferential paradigm written down yet that you wish to share?? Are you going to do any basian probabilities??? C But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump." -
Somebody really needs to start gathering the data that these GPS enabled tracking devices provide. Some of the freefly java enabled programs have a huge confound in them because they were designed to support a particular point of view... We have the means at this point we just need a research paradigm that incorporates real data and not supposition... But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."
