Just watch any hollywood movie with a jumper. The hero usually picks up a brand-spanking new Odyssey that just happens to be lying around a cropduster Cessna. He/she then proceeds to jump, pull (if we're lucky), and a tiny elliptical opens over his/her head. Then the hero lands it on a moving target, like a truck or a boat. Why do they call em seatbelts if there are no seats anyway? My brainfart story - mistook the direction of the windsock. Was flying downwind in the downwind half for half the descent. Then I realize something is wrong, swear loudly, and head for the DZ. Almost made it too. Basically, I had a choice - runway or potatoes. I chose potatoes. The choice was at maybe 20 ft, so after the shallow turn I got NO FLARE. Whack. My glasses have been a little bent ever since. -- Toggle Whippin' Yahoo Skydiving is easy.
