That is pretty funny, I was in a bar with a friend of mine talking about jumping and this girl walks up and says" So , you guys skydive? Me too , I've been doinig it for years ." I said cool , where do you jump ? She said " well, I just moved here and haven't been anywhere yet." So, I told her that I was going this weekend and that she could come along and I would introduce her to some people. She said " That would be great , do I need to bring anything special like boots or something?" I said well howmany jumps do you have , and she blurted out some crazy hundreds something number . I had been drinking so it took me about this long to figure out she was 1) full of shit . or 2) messing with me. So, I started asking more questions . What kind of gear have you been using? she says " you know the normal stuff." Now I don't think I no anyone with more than 10 jumps that doesn't know exactly what kind of gear they're using. So , I said well what kind of canopy or what size ? She said " well its a size 4 " . At this point my buddy Chris is on the floor laughing and I thought for sure that he had set the whole thing up . As it turned out he hadn't , this chick was just whacked and she went on and on about all this stuff that she had not a single clue about . So we had great fun with it all night . When we left Chris said to her " If you would really like to make a skydive we can hook you up ." She said" i skydive all the time." We must have sat in the car for a good twenty minutes laughing . We never saw her again.

Yep I've seen that seen here also and yesterday in tampa they busted a truck w/ 15 tons in it. Oh well , Ya know I like it but it's not worth going to jail for , I'll just have mo money to jump I guess.

Actually, it's been the biggest thrill of my life and skydivers are the most diverse and fun loving crowd of people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Oh yeah and the beer!!! 1 Steve"Deadman" Morrell , He was the first guy i ever spoke to about jumping ,I never got to jump with him but just talking to him taught me alot about the sport, and he also had an an incredible outlook on life. I miss him alot. 2. Eric Lee, the first guy that ever put a rig on my back . i have yet to jump with him , but I know that one day I will . 3. [ It would be nice if people at least stayed at on dz throughout thier student program , but this doesn't really happen all the time . so maybe if an instuctor know that someone has been jumping somewhere else it would be a good idea to go over the hand signals to be used . not only on their first jump but before every jump. I remember my instructors quickly drilling me on signals before almost every jump. Jay

I don't have ANY experience myself flying high performance canopys , But i have been around for a long time and seen people do things they're not ready for and sometimes the dzo or the st&a wasn't even aware of it until sfter the fact. I'm not saying that it always turns out that someone gets hurt , but I have seen it happen . In my opinion if this guy won't listen to his friends or other skydivers about having the experience and skills to fly a particular canopy then the dzo or st&a or someone with the "power " should step up and say hey your just not gonna do here until you've proven to be a compitent canopy pilot. Not being mean or putting the guy down, but the bottom line is if you don't have the prerequsite skills to do it safely then he shouldn't be allowed to do it PERIOD. Jay

alot of stuff makes me happy when I'm havin a rough day but here are a few . when my girl calls just to say hi , I miss you when I get o see her at lunch(woohoo) when the dog talks to me doing something cool for someone who doesn't expect it a nice sunset ice cold sierra nevada blastin the stereo all the way to the dz, run right to manifest and get the first available load , all the tandem students lookin at ya like you've really lost your mind ,but they still wanna chase around the dz with a million questions. 5:30(off work) sex(even if only for a minute) a snooze in the hammock Alright I gotta get back to work be happy!!!! Yeah Disturbed is cool , but there is alot of stuff thst I personally like better and I agree that you just can't even compare them to Floyd. I've seen Disturbed about six times they put on a pretty good show . I saw them at Oz fest right before Marilin Manson which by the way was one of the coolest stage shows I've ever seen and I'm really not a Manson fan . I gotta say i would definitely go see his show again. I could go on foreveer with the music thing so going to shut up now. Jay

I was in the bay area in july and spent a day at Skydance in Davis, seems to be a really cool place . I think they high altitude jumps every Thursday or something like that . I also went by Monterey that same week but There was alot of fog and notjing goin on , so we went down the road to Marina and did some paragliding (sorta) from the dunes , which to me are more like mountains. Anyway it was fun . Jay

I've been seeing CRW ads for many years in Parachutist and such, I've never talked with the man or purchased anything from him. I just don't find the ad offensive . What really is buggin me today is that it is absolutely beutiful outside and I'm stuck in my office working instead of at the dz jumpin . I guess if I had a succesful business like ED I could probably be at the dz whenever I felt like it. Ya'll be cool , Jay

Ya know what else is good , Swanson makes potatoe topped pot pies . A couple of those babys and your good to go , and no dishes . WOO HOO!!! Ramen noodles still rock though , 6 for a buck , dinner for a week .
