  1. That fly on Pence was ominous. Obviously thought something was decomposing inside his head. I guess it will have to quarantine itself for 14 days now.
  2. I know Pelosi is next in line after Pence, but at the moment the leadership must be in a shambles. That is where the security of the US is compromised. And all unnecessarily so. Vlad couldn't have hoped for a better scenario regarding discord.
  3. As well as that, his arrogance and ignorance has compromised the security of the United States. Especially if Pence goes down as well. How many other key people have been exposed to the virus? The numbers of WH associates infected must surely increase.
  4. +1. Karma is such a bitch. To quote Marion Morrison: " If you're gonna be stupid, you better be tough".
  5. You are right. From your point of view as a participant in the march. It does explain a lot. Down is up. Black is white. No surprise there.
  6. Second row, far right holding the sign. Mr T Speed. Thought you looked familiar...
  7. Starting a war has already been predicted. Just another tactic which he will use to try to get support. Pre emptive strike anyone? He doesn't have much left in his locker. Can the military refuse to carry it out if they perceive it to be unlawful?
  8. After doing ground tests on hand deploying reserves like this, we concluded that the mess was caused by the packing method. Pulling the reserve out, with one hand on the apex and one on the periphery resulted the guts dropping out as soon as the reserve was extracted from the container. We changed to a roll pack, which involved rolling the reserve up from the apex. (rather like a toilet roll) This resulted in a much more solid handful of canopy which was much easier to extract and throw, without it turning into a mess. Never had to do it in anger, as we had just turned to cutaways and pilot shot reserves. Glad we had the new fangled system. Hand deploy was only any good under cheapos anyway, PCs tended to spin up a lot faster than a C9.
  9. RIP Frank, ex Manawatu Skydiving club. Judge at several nationals in the 70s. The big C strikes another one down.
  10. Another numbskull outs himself.
  11. Its such a pity Christopher Hitchens is not around anymore. He'd be making mincemeat of both Hillary and Trump.
  12. The answer is.....Yes. But, as usual, there is always someone who knows better than the majority of experienced jumpers.
  13. Yep, if bullshit was wire, Trump could fence Texas....
  14. Nothing accidental in either case. Sheer carelessness. Stupid adults leaving loaded guns with a bullet in the chamber in places where they can be fired, or where kids can access them. Tragic, but unnecessary deaths in both cases.
  15. RIP Richard Kinloch, who was a good buddy back in the 70s at Manawatu Skydiving Club before he moved to Australia and jumped at Elderslie DZ. Ex RNZAF. We had some crazy good times back in those days. Fly free old mate. ETA: Richard posted on DZ.com as Marisan. Hadn't been on here for a while as he was battling the effects of a stroke a couple of years ago.
  16. So you think background checks for maniacs wanting to buy guns is a bad thing?
  17. I saw an interesting comment by an NRA type commenting on the ban on semis in NZ. Basically saying that the 2nd amendment gives Americans the right to hold guns, while NZ doesn't have a 2nd amendment, and somehow implying the USA was better because of it, He finished his rant by saying "its our way of life". I just thought his wording there wasn't quite right. He would have been more accurate saying: "it is our way of death". Especially since more civilian Americans have died at the end of a gun than American military personnel in all wars to date.
  18. I read somewhere recently that more than a million Americans have died due to gunshot wounds in America since 1980. That is all causes...crime, accidental discharge, suicide etc. But that is an astonishing figure. How many Americans have died due to "terrorism" in comparison? The problem is how easy they are to acquire with minimal checks.
  19. Trump contacted our Prime Minister to express condolences and asked what he could do to help. Her response was to ask him to express peace and goodwill to Muslims around the world. I guess he swallowed hard at that point in time. As far as gun laws go, NZ has about 250,000 licenced gun owners...strong hunting/farming community, and there are already quite tough restrictions on gun ownership, particularly AR type weapons, but I expect that semi auto assault rifles will be banned outright, perhaps with an amnesty and buy back scheme like the Aussies did. The people of NZ will demand nothing less. It will happen. Having said that, this POS had a firearms licence, and bought his weapons legally. He then illegally modified them. When apprehended, 16 minutes after he began his rampage, he was on his way to a child care entre. The cops who nabbed him didn't fire a shot, because he threw his hands in the air. 50 dead, 50 injured. Over 4 million dollars raised for the victims and families so far.
  20. Scumbags like the POS who carried out that attack will never win. But they need to be called out by all decent people, at every opportunity.
