>Con: >- Doesn't it cost more than the Optik? Around the same price. However, the optik comes with the ratchet chin cup standard, and hawkeye does not. So I guess you could say that the Hawkeye is a bit more dough... Vid "stons fal, evrysing fals, but doesnt on purpos change its flite pas an positioning..."

I'm gonna have to say wings. And dont let the price make you think it's of lesser quality. I have a wings and it's REALLY secure man. And, it's sooooo comfortable. The only complaint that I have is they dont offer chest rings (OH MY !!!! WAIT A MINUTE I WONDER IF THATS WHAT THE NEW WINGS WILL HAVE?!!!) ohh, sorry dude, got a little excited ANywayz, I personally feel that the chest rigs help alot with people that are larger in the chest area... If you're average size up there, I dont think that they'll make a whole lot of difference. But definately get hip rings. Wings also looks kick ass!!! What??? You wanna see a picture... Oh, ok. I thiknk I have one of my rig kickin around. Maybe some people can post some pics of other types of rigs for you to see too.? Ok, heres mine... Anyone have problems with Premiere???

>Another thing that is worth noting is that it seemed >to goof up at around the same time using both >programs... Hmmm, does it only do this thing once and then you flip put and shut it off (I say that because that's what I did for months)? Or, is there a few different places it happens? If it's only the one spot, maybe you could try capturing some other video, put somethng together and try and export it-make sure that all your vid is captured in same res and all that crap. Basically, your capture settings should match your export settings. Ok, now here's something really simple that you can try immediately. Stick your avi in your timeline same as when you were trying to export, make sure your camera is hooked up, and on vtr. Go to settings and disable preview in preview window (so you only preview to cam. Now, just play your vid inside the timeline... Does it mess up still, in the same place??? Ok, if it does, let it run for the whole video. Now do it again... if it screws up again, grab the scrub line and just drag it from the start of the clip until the end (dont actually render scrub, just drag it so the replay is really quick). Now, try playing from the beginning again.... It may sound silly, but try it out...it has worked for me before. Lemme know how you make out. >And those leg strap retainers... You don't need 'em >as long as the rig fits. Dude, this is not great advice, and I'm not sure what it's based on since buddies profile states that his main discipline FS, and #2 is style. You said you were freeflying with the rig, so the circumstances are different. I would recommend something to hold your leg straps from coming up to your knees as i'm sure most people would. >It might be worth a try. You can try opening the ppj file in 5.0 and see what happens. >Capture all of your footage in 6.0/6.5 first, of course. I think it may be better if you rendered the project first(6.0/6.5), then instead of opening the ppj. in 5.0, you could just import your rendered video (avi) into 5.0, drop it in the time line, then export to tape/print to video. I think I read above somewhere, that you had only a small glitch every 45 sec or so?? If that is the case, then it sounds like you may be able to do some stuff to sort everything out. I think we'd need the specs and configuration of your system though? My problem was really severe, and it was blue screen/squares for like, 90 % of my exporting. I DID have some small glitches and stuff on my laptop, but they were fixable with some tweeking. Vid "stons fal, evrysing fals, but doesnt on purpos change its flite pas an positioning..." -

It's soooo mental/psychological dude. More than you would ever think. Yeah, for you the full face probably makes it better for you . For me, I sucked with a full face. My dumbass buddy greig said that I wasnt 'free' with the full face. I called him a dumbass then did the next jump with an open face. OH MY!!!! I was ten times better. So now, I dont wear my full face when I freefly. Another thing dude... In Rantoul this year, me and Greig took half a day off and went n' bought some chuck taylors (shoes) when we came back and jumped with them, WTF!!!! We were like 50 times better than we were without the chucks. I think you know what I'm saying man. Teach yourself to fly everynight before you go to bed, know that you're a badass, and just chill and hangout when your head down man. Dont get stuck into the, "I must HOLD this position !!!! Just relax and chill bro... Vid "stons fal, evrysing fals, but doesnt on purpos change its flite pas an positioning..."

Ok, I just went and picked up a Canon Rebel Ti. I already mounted a velbon quick release adapter to my bonehead Optik. Now, I'm just wondering if there's anything you guys do to make the camera a bit more secure on the helmet. I mean, it seems OK on the quick release plate, but this plate doesnt have one of those nice locking systems that I've seen on some (I actually had another mount, but it had crap proruding from the bottom and didnt provide flush surfacr for mounting). Would the camera be secure enough on this configuration, or is there something else I could add (straps maybe?) to make it a bit more secure? Question two - Bite/Tongue switch... Do they come with a standard jack to plug into a camera, or do you need the cable release from the camera and then need to make mods with both? Thanks in advance Vid "stons fal, evrysing fals, but doesnt on purpos change its flite pas an positioning..." -

>FreeFlyAnvil is right... XP on a Via chipset exporting will almost always have issues >under Premiere 6 or 6.5. I had to go back to 5.0 to get it to work right... Finally said >screw it and started using Studio 8 and have'nt had an issue since. I really like premiere alot (especially 6.5), so I was pretty set on making SOMETHING work. I finally just installed win 98 on a seperate partition, and used it only for exporting. Adobe, microsoft, and the via dudes ALL know that there's issues, but they ALL just point fingers at each other instead of working together to make a fix for the problem. It's not really fair to say that if you're at the DZ every weekend, Skydiving is IT, and you have a really boring life. Dont forget that the weekend is a small percentage of the week-two days only. I have not missed one weekend of jumping since this april-yes, the weather has cooperated that nicely this year, I have jumped EVERY weekend Now, I have also done SOOOOO much other stuff; During those other five days that are in the week

>>I think you'll see the interface Quade's talking about. I've seen this thing called digisnap 5000 from some company that's actually made for a coolpics 5000. Basically, it's some sort of adapter that allows for a standard shutter release switch or something. I dooooo want a D60, but really, the camera's not for working so I dont want to dump that much dough. I originally wanted still, but said that I'd just go regualr film for now. I'm not able to make myself buy a film camera, so I think that I must have digital... Vid "stons fal, evrysing fals, but doesnt on purpos change its flite pas an positioning..."

Anyone have problems with Premiere???
freeflyanvil replied to konradptr's topic in Photography and Video
Which version of premiere are you using. If it's 6.0, there's a patch (6.01) that should correct the really fast playback problem that you experienced. As far as freaking out while exporting, huh, well... That's something that I tried to figure out for nearly a year at one point. Now, important question... Are you using Win XP? I bet you are. IN addition to using XP, I'm going to assume the chipset on your mother board is VIA... This is a baaadddd combination. I have two machines. Home PC is ABIT mother board with via chipset, AMD athlon 900 and about 750 megs of ram (running win XP). There's NO WAY that I can export from the machine without getting blocky blue screen and other crap. My other systrm is a sony vaio laptop with intel chipset. This thing exports NO problem whatsoever. So, you have a couple options. What I do now, is just transfer my completed files to the laptop to export them. I dont think you want to buy another computer though. So, what I did before I had the laptop... Make a seperate partition on your hard drive, and install win 98 on it. You may have to uninstall XP and install win 98 first, then XP. The,. work on your project within XP if you like it, and when it's time to export, boot your system up in 98 and export from there. There are also alot of other things you can to to increase the performance of your system for DV. You can even check out adobes site for tips on how to do that. Hope this helps.
