  1. Andy is a good guy. We've talked a bit over the years and I've never needed a talking too. Never seen him so riled up as in that thread though. Something must have been bothering him. Doodling in someones log book, in my experience pales in comparison to having them thrown away and gone forever. Not saying it's right, it is wrong, but pages can be removed. If i had someone who had drawn-over a reported jump I'd rewrite it after having removed the page. I do not know the extant of the "vandalism" though. Don't mess with other people stuff it's bad Juju
  2. Can't help you there I wear an x-lander
  3. Were you not at one point advocating quite strongly about doing just that to some 'asshole" as a warning by dumping their reserve? ... and it was old school tradition? just saying
  4. Nonsense. You're saying that a diving exit will have a pre-A-licence jumper in a position to pull in the same amount of time as a poised exit? I'll see your "nonsense" and raise you a "poppycock"! I'll chuck in a "you're ill informed". A diving exit is just as stable and for many students easier than a poised, while also being a faster exit, which IS the point of the simulated emergency exit/ As has been mentioned it's most often mental whether those 1st couple H&P's are graceful. I've known some jumpers well past A license not want to exit low over a given location yet are willing to do the same at higher altitudes. The don't look down factor applies somehow.
  5. What a gas Daddy-O a '67 skydiving movie with Raquel Welch. Never saw it before. I'll have to download this from the PirateBay.
  6. Interesting to think had your rig had a skyhook you would have looked up and seen your reserve flying instead of your main.
  7. Were you the woman on the static line with the huge smile? Nope. @13:41 the woman in the red jumpsuit and white helmet in the back of the Norseman was (at the time) my art history teacher. I was on the ground enduring my FJC. She had a malfunction on that jump, which I saw during a break in training. It's a wonder I ever made any jumps, let alone be the one of the half-dozen of us from school who jumped, to go on to make more jumps than the rest. Elsinore in the late '70s was an incredibly cool and scary place to be. Television and film were different back then so it was interesting to see how this footage was edited and put together. It's also when I saw skydivers for the first time at a demo and knew I wanted to do that when I grew up. lol Then it was forgotten for 25 years until I did. The smile your art history teacher had then is no differnt today with all that's changed.
  8. Were you the woman on the static line with the huge smile?
  9. I have to say the same thing since a disgruntled family member threw mine away. Out to the dumpster they went.... never to be seen again.
  10. Based on the facts you were aware of as you've explained them your decision was sound. I'm impressed.... and you owe beer for the first!
  11. Looks like cheap pair of Supra hightops.

  13. Life is but a dream.... so relax and enjoy all of it, the good and the bad. +1 - Xanax
  14. That is the classic example of the Type D personality, as in douche. Type A personalities are very different than your example.

  16. Is Robert Whitsitt related to Fred Whitsitt, the guy who was the stunt double for Maxwell Smart in the movie Get Smart?
  17. I am so happy I don't walk around obsessing over threats like cops do. The Author of the news story is paranoid. We have nothing to fear but fear itself.... oppss that doesn't apply anymore and there is no Federal funding with that mindset anyway to fund the bloated Federal Bureaucracy.
  18. But it won't. It's Friday and that's all that is important
  19. The world needs ditch diggers too
  20. Just think Mars has been that windblown wasteland devoid of life for millions of years.... I wonder if God has ever been there.
  21. Meeting someone named Turbo....or Redline.... the thought alone is nauseating.
  22. Amazing to look off in the distance to look at the Sun and think that somewhere out there is Earth. Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity Rover Animation http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4boyXQuUIw The delivery of the rover after the parachute separation would make a great AAD. That's amazing, if something like that "hovercraft" and disklike shaped landed on Earth I'd buy a Mirage
  23. Personally I don't like wearing gloves, and would only use them if I was opening very high.
  24. This video fails on so many levels http://iloveskydiving.org/view/videos/friday-freakout-skydiving-altitude-awareness-fail-double-fail
