In my first year of skydiving I wanted to have patches all over the suit as I wanted to look like a pro Luckily I never actually put them on because there's nothing more stupid that a newbie trying to look like a pro and smashing himself in on landing most of the times. Gives a lot of people a good start to making jokes Today I still have no patches on but keep them for fixing holes in the suit because it looks better than using tape. But as mentioned before: Your suit, your patches, your call! M. vSCR No.94 Don't dream your life - live your dream!

New UK Skydiver - need some help and advice
Merkur replied to johnnycab's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Two hints for now: 1) update your profile, as a lot of people won't answer to anonymous requests 2) Rewrite - if still possible - your headline. Something like "UK-skydiver needs help" might attract the right people to answer your questions. M. vSCR No.94 Don't dream your life - live your dream! -

If it is the same issue like on world team: Vigil will fire as it "thinks" your crossing firing altitude at freefall speed Cypres I will shut down as it "thinks" this behaviour of pressure drop normally can't happen - I must be defect - send me back home. Cypres II will operate normal as it has improved "intelligence" M. vSCR No.94 Don't dream your life - live your dream!

a) totally agree with the above b) arch c) adding more weight might get her faster but also increases wingloading!!! d) get the rest of the team to slow down a bit M. vSCR No.94 Don't dream your life - live your dream!

Conor, 1) I don't know, if this was ever a criteria. 2) The planned formation must be build. It must be grip specific and look like it was stamped. But person can theoretical switch places 3) +4) There must be one picture with a complete formation. No time required anymore. So theoretical it can be unstable if you just have a good videoguy. 5) All folks that exits, except videographer, must be in the formation. So no "spares" allowed on exit who fills in if someone gets low. M. vSCR No.94 Don't dream your life - live your dream!

That's what dreams are made of!
Merkur replied to skydivermom's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Kathlee, congrats to your SCR!!! At least you knew before the jump what will happen afterwards . Btw, I will be back at San Marcos for the halloween carnival - so let's do some fun jumps again! M. P.S. To all of you, who don't know about, either check the link some posts above or go with this quote from luminous: "It's basically an eight-way with a free exit where you join last - uuh and the rest, I will explain to you after the jump." vSCR No.94 Don't dream your life - live your dream! -
Several methods work for me. Here are some: Breathe in - breathe out. Just concentrate on this. Nothing else. Follow the air mentally through your mouth/nose all the way down to your lungs. Feel how they fill with air. Follow the air all the way out. Repeat. --------- Close your eyes - see yourself in a relaxing peacefull place - SMILE --------- Use odors which are linked to relaxed moments. Example: When I attended a windtunnelcamp I had a certain type of aftershave which "got stuck" in my helmet. Whenever today I need to fell confident in a jump, I use it in my helmet as it brings imediately back this feeling of being succesfull doing turns and stops like I did in that camp. 1) Who is going to attend? 2) Who will drive there from Houston (IAH) on Thursday and back on Monday? Anyone of the 2)-folks has some space left in his/her car? M. vSCR No.94 Don't dream your life - live your dream!

While these are definetly your colors and not mine, #3 would be my choice. Have you asked about the black on black issue. My manufacturer doesn't allow dark colors in some parts of the canopy. Post a picture of the real one, once you have it! blue ones, M. vSCR No.94 Don't dream your life - live your dream!

Help needed: How to put large formations in the door(s)?
Merkur replied to Merkur's topic in Relative Work
Well, I know how to put these formations in C-130s, but I still have some issues with all these small planes like Beech, Casa, SkyVan and TwinOtter. Another issue: I moved from Cessna 206 more or less right to C-130, so I am missing a bit the experience of inbetween sized planes And finally, this time I was just participating, not organzing M. vSCR No.94 Don't dream your life - live your dream! -
Help needed: How to put large formations in the door(s)?
Merkur replied to Merkur's topic in Relative Work
Hi all you organizers! I wonder if there are some simple tricks about how to put larger formations in a reasonable exit line-up, as from some size on, the door becomes to small, to put all of them in. Any tips, tricks and hints are welcome. M. vSCR No.94 Don't dream your life - live your dream! -

I would check with a lawyer, if they have any legal means to force you to pay. There must be some US-Switzerland agreement to be able to do that. If there isn't there are from my opinion 2 possibilities, if you don't pay. 1) It might be erased after a certain time (probably some years) 2) It might be official forever and once you enter Switzerland again, they miht arrest you. A couple of years ago, any speeding ticket you received from Austria, being a German, you could just throw away, as they didn't have government to government agreement about how to handle it. Today, they are granted legal means to get you. M. vSCR No.94 Don't dream your life - live your dream!

Dueren still has up to three turbine cessnas. Normally they operate just one. More info on their website: http://www.fsvsaar.de It's now "just" one DZ operating there. The German manufacturer Paratec http://www.paratec.dewill open its new facility end of this year directly at the DZ. So lots of demos will be available. Spa on the other hand is a bigger DZ with all the pros and cons attached to that (there are no real cons at Spa, but some folks just like the smaal cozy kind of DZ better). I have mine now for 12 years or so. 10 of them I have been in the military and noone ever noticed. Even my parents didn't find out until 4 years ago. Talking went back to normal after 2 or 3 days. As soon as the swelling was gon I changed to a black metal(titanium?), so it is even harder to be recognized. Just don't yawn in front of others - but I think this is bad as well in the military. I used mouth wash after everything I ate or drunk (except water) for three weeks. After one week everything therefore tasted like listerine. Nowadays I am able to leave the bare out for several weeks without having any problems in putting it back in. Personally I think it is more fun (for myself) to kiss someone who has a piercing than to have one while kissing. Don't get me wrong - it's is not bad having one, but the most fun is added to the person who receives whatever you do with it. Well, while I am thinking about it, this ends up in being fun for yourself most of the times M. vSCR No.94 Don't dream your life - live your dream!
