John & Carrie Cox, are very pleased to announce the birth of their second son. Nathaniel Byron Lee Cox was born today at aprox 08:35pm/cst at Providence Hospital in Mobile, AL. I have the same question of why. Once I decided to walk home (about 2 miles) from a bar 1 night and somebody called the cops cause I was stggering down the sidewalk. When the cop got there he asked what I was doing. I told him I was to drunk to drive and I left my truck at the bar and was walking home. He told me to get in the car, I thought I was going to jail but he took me home and wished me a goodnight. I have also called a friend in the middle of the night and woke him up to come get me from the bar. If they are anything of a friend to you they will do this. Better than having to come bail you out of jail. People who get DUI's get no sypathy from me and I hope they get the harshest punishment. Just my opinion. Chile cheers and claps! RkyMtnHigh, good to hear from you that Mike C. is alive and still kickin, I'll pass that news on to Kreg he was worried about'im. Kreg passed thru here with his brother-n-law on their way to Gulfport, MS with clothing and asst'd supplies for his roomie and neighbors. We treated a early dinner, figured it was the last good meal they'd see for a few days... We were right, they've been subsisting on MRE's and Red Cross meals. Kreg sounded like he was on the verge of tears when he called me after they arrived and he got a firsthand look at the aftermath. He and his Roomie lost everything.............. His roomie is going to stay behind and help get the radio station back online and Kreg is going to stop by again on his way back to Florida and then back to work. I'm home (obviously) and everything is hunkydory, nothing that work and money can't fix. I'm gonna be home loner than I originally planned, I pulled a muscle in my back while clearing trees and storm debris. But I heal fast You staying sober? You still in love? Hey Laurel, going off topic... I met and jumped with a guy up in North Dakota at Skydive Fargo who bought a canopy off y'all. He's pleased with the canopy and sent his regards. I came trucking onto their DZ sunday morning, when they found out I was from Mobile,AL they asked about the hurricane, I wasn't up to date at all and they informed me it had upgraded to a cat4 and where it was tracking towards... I got really nervous then about everyone down here, I'm very happy to hear that so many are accounted for. Property and livelyhoods can be re-built lives cannot. I second the thanks for all your work and thoughtfulness, your a special person and I'm glad I know you. My best wishes/prayers to you and Will and to all those hit hard by Katrina. Chile chiming in now that I've power-n-cable service restored (no landline phone service as of yet). My family weathered the storm well, wish I could say the same for my house, but its generally minor, no structural or flood damage. We had siding and shingles ripped off, sml-lrg trees branches and a lrg Oak down (none hit the house though). My wife being 7.5 months pregnant was miserable without A/C but she made it. She was looking for a hotel with power-n-A/C the day that I was driving home, told me I could pound sand about the cost. We ran the A/C via a generator at home that nite. I myself completely missed the storm, I was up in the northern midwest trying to get home (I'm a longhaul trucker), didn't get home till wednesday early evening. I was at Skydive Fargo, Fargo,ND (41st State-n-83rd DZ) when I heard it had reached cat5, started re-thinking my decision to have my wife stay put in mobile but figured we were just outside the major danger zone (which we were). I talked with Mike Igo wednesday and he told me that all staff and all but one of the core group of jumpers were alive and accounted for, thank god! he said the plane was in Atlanta,GA for engine upgrade and that the DZ was 99% untouched. Other structures/hangars were demolished and Mike says perhaps they should have skydivers re-build'em. For those that don't know, the DZ was almost entirely built by the loving hands of its jumpers and thus in my opinion it survived. KARMA Mike says operations should hopefully resume saturday September 10th! My condolences to all those who lost family-n-friends and/or homes-n-livelyhoods May you find shelter and food and re-build your lives, may god watch and guide you. . . . Frontosa are definitely beautiful fish! I researched some of the African & Madagascar Cichlids and arrived at the conclusion that if I ever keep any of either. from africa it would be Frontosa in a 200+gal, withh atleast five (5) fish (1 male and 4 female). From Madagascar it would be Paratilapia polleni or Paratilapia bleekeri, basically the same fish just that one has small and the other large spots. P. polleni is gorgeous, and is probably my favorite and most likely being as I could house 'em in the 75gal, no problemo. Goldcoast is still operating, business as usual except its literally on a day to day lease. Everything is up in the air right now with the federal case still pending, it has yet to be granted or denied a federal hearing. DZO Mike Igo cannot comment about anything pertaining to the case until the gavel comes down and the dust settles. There is good news though, The JCAA and Airport Management seem to keep sticking their foot in their mouth every other time they turn around. Rumor has that Mike has supposedly received funding enabling him to supersize his Otter, thats right folks SUPER OTTER! William Brightwell is recovering slowly but surely and is now at home, prayers still needed and appreciated. Everyday he is apparently showing improvement
