  1. Too much money and not enough brains... If he insist on maintaining this course he will be come a statistic, he will be a danger to others and he will be a liability to a DZ. I personally don't mind if someone wants to possibly hurt or kill themselves but they have to do it without affecting other folks. 3. You want to just have som fun making trails in the sky? Go buy some bags of flour, that right plain old flour, 5lbs bags are about right. It doesn't last long but its something fun to do and watch when bored. Just take the bag into freefall with you and tear the top off, instant smoke/flour. The spectators on the ground usually get a good laugh when the jumper lands cause you can get a face full of flour if your not careful I tell ya.... The things skydivers do when their bored. 4. I would go straight my E-procedures. By trying to clear a lineover you risk alot, you can damage/further damage your canopy with friction burns, a controllability check can make things go from bad to worse in a heartbeat, you could cut the wrong line/lines possibly further damaging your equipment while creating a whole new malfunction and all the while you are losing precious time/altitude. 5. Thanks for the reply Relyon, This is what really makes me love DZ.com, sooo much input, sooo much experince and by putting it all together we can learn sooo much. By taking all the suggestions of how to deal with a scenario such as this, I now feel that I've the knowledge to capably handle such a malfunction in a better manner that I might have before. Keep it coming, my thanks to all cause I'd rather "Learn and live than live and learn.". ChileRelleno-Rodriguez Bro#414 Hellfish#511,MuffBro#3532,AnvilBro#9, D24868
  6. READ: "and the position of all handles." Prego, its in there! ChileRelleno-Rodriguez Bro#414 Hellfish#511,MuffBro#3532,AnvilBro#9, D24868
  7. Been there, done that... With my CYPRES. This was something that came to my mind even when reading it as a 2000' deployment, 900'- 1000' snivels are not uncommon nowadays under some canopies. The only thing that raised my eyebrow was firing on the riggers table, but I'll wait and listen for test results on that mis-fire. Thank you for feedback/reply here on this thread. 8. The cotton will last longer than you think with alittle care and provides more drag by itself. The supplex is nice also but as said it would need to be doubled with itself or another fabric for the same drag as one layer of cotton. I voted for the cotton. Who are you having make your jumpsuit? 9. OOOOHHH!... OK..... Should I offer condolences or congratulations. Either way it always sucks in some way when a relationship ends. Got a new sweetie thats purely recreational yet? (Chile ducks in case something flies his way.) ChileRelleno-Rodriguez Bro#414 Hellfish#511,MuffBro#3532,AnvilBro#9, D24868
  10. Canuck and Flyangel have given good advice, same advice I wouldv'e given you. Your not hosed... I've met you and I think your a hardcore skydiver at heart if not jumps and no hardcore skydiver is hosed till he bites the big one. Where there's a will there's a solution! Say "Hi" to your wife for me. ChileRelleno-Rodriguez Bro#414 Hellfish#511,MuffBro#3532,AnvilBro#9, D24868
  11. Interesting discussion over in http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=914060;#914060 about malfunctioning premature reserve and cutting it away. The real question seems to be hookknifing the reserve risers and then dumping the main. Can any here relate to this or a similar situation and the problems to be anticipated while cutting thru the risers of a mal'd canopy? I thought perhaps some CRWdogs might have good input. So c'mon over and chime in. ChileRelleno-Rodriguez Bro#414 Hellfish#511,MuffBro#3532,AnvilBro#9, D24868
  12. IMHO I don't think you could hold onto the riser/risers after cutting thru them especially with the average "loaded" reserve (I could be wrong). There is so much tension and the resulting jerk upon cutting would very likely rip them out of your hand while ripping your hand up. Also I forsee having to cut the risers fore and aft indvidually, so thats four cuts to make in all probability with cuts 2-4 being made in who knows what orientation. All I really know is that I wouldn't wish this scenario on any jumper! Perhaps we could find out more about dealing with cutaways such as this or similar by consulting the CRWdogs? Chile runs over to the CRW Forum.... ChileRelleno-Rodriguez Bro#414 Hellfish#511,MuffBro#3532,AnvilBro#9, D24868
  13. Nah, I've been hanging around here and in the sky for quite sometime now You can check out a persons profile by clicking on their username and find out who, where, when and how they like to skydive and how long they've been hanging out on DZ.com amongst other things. 14. "Why do people skydive?" Why do some people get married?... Because they found a love, a passion and they want to continue feeding that feeling. Skydiving is a passion for me, I want it , I need it... Its a part of me! I knew since I was a little kid at airshows that I wanted to skydive. I'd see all the airplanes, helicopters and whatnot, all the great aerobatics... But when the skydivers appeared I was awestruck at what they were doing. Fast forward many years and now I am a Skydiver! ChileRelleno-Rodriguez Bro#414 Hellfish#511,MuffBro#3532,AnvilBro#9, D24868
