Country: USA DZ: Z-Hills and most FL DZ's Packing price (excl. tip): $7 USD Typical tip (if it applies): Beer? Jump ticket price: $25 Exit altitude: 13,500' (Sometimes 15,000 on sunset loads) Price of ave. 6 pack of beer: Donno, I don't drink

That's how it should be. The suits would evolve much faster if that were the case. I was actually speaking to Fidel Mach at the last boogie and he showed me a really sweet design that makes you slap yourself and say "Why didn't I think of that!" Hopefully the prototypes work out. If they do, it's a huge boost to wingsuit safety.

Which DZ are heaven to work for and DZO aren't crazy???
Shredex replied to stayhigh's topic in Instructors
Skydive Dubai the Palm. You get a house, a car, and $70,000/yr. you just gotta let the prince grab your balls for a couple years. -
Z-hills always has a sunset load. Even if there aren't a bunch of people there, the staff will go up on the sunset. But for the most part it's been 2 - 3 otters running during the morning and noon, and when the afternoon comes it starts slowing to just 1 otter. Only time I ever see all 3 sitting is when it's refueling lol

I hate this country. I'd say maybe 4th best country. Have you tried: Blue - White - Blue - White - Red - White - Blue - White - Blue???? Or: Blue - White - Blue - Blue - Red - Blue - Blue - White - Blue
-
Fbwsol, It's a twin-otter over Z-hills. It looks like he is jumping extra far out the side so even if he were to lift he wouldn't hit the tail.

There should just be a grand wingsuit meet where all the wingsuiters in the world come and play and drink beer and strippers and tacos and hugs.

Glad i left Eloy when team qatar showed up....

They were here in Z-hill a few months ago. Takes them around 16 seconds to get a 4 way out once the green light goes on. They bring multiple rigs each so they are hoping onto just about every single load. It was land, rip off rig, throw on another, and hold up plane while they throw on their leg straps. I didn't notice them being ass-holes at all. I never even saw them speaking. They were dirt-diving constintally. I couldn't even get one to check my pin before a hop-n-pop because they were all in dreamland. Luckily their camera flyer was there to check me. -
Now if you reverse that order it suddenly becomes US flag colors :P P.S. To get in contact with Brian you can try his Facebook as well. http://www.facebook.com/BrianSGermain

Scotty has been a wingsuit instructor for ages, working closely with tony and Jeff. I think he is wondering why he wasn't involved in creating the program when he is one of the most qualified person(s) in this criteria and when creating such a program you should get EVERYONE involved to create a the best program possible. When you leave super experienced/qualified people out, then you are likely to have a "missing-link". Scotty has been stabbed in the back enough so far that he should be allowed at least freedom of speech. It's a shame too because he is one of the funnest guys you will ever meet that always has a smile on his face and has a huge heart. He doesn't deserve any of this disrespect.

I'm a skinny guy with skinny legs (5'9" and 130lbs at most) and so far the 170-220 rigs I KNOW fit me :P The student rigs are all adjustable and they are currently replacing their current older Wings student rigs with brand new javelin rigs. So you might be jumping brand spankin new gear at Z-hills! Since people live on the DZ, many of them stay in the bar at night and just have an all around great time. For a Student, it's a great way to introduce yourself to the community. Being able to hang out with all the people and talk to them during after hours at the bar and all. Deland, I'd say is great for once you get your license. Since Performance Designs is right on the DZ you can demo canopies a lot easier. Z-hills does have the Sunshine Factory where you can rent one of their rigs with a canopy of your choice to demo for a day(think it's $85/per day). And if you're skinny like me you just might get Sally Hathaway as an instructor which is just about the best instructor you could ever have. She is also a tunnel coach for iFly Orlando. Whatever the decision, both are great and you should check out both while you're here.

It's a great device, with or without jeb. Of course since he is involved, though, everyone is going to bash it Handles under the suit? Some people prefer f**king fat chicks. Some people prefer believing there is a god. Some people prefer to BASE jump. When you have over 2000 BASE jumps, suddenly jumping a BASE rig out of a plane isn't a big deal.
-
On the contrary. If you know what you are doing then you don't need the goggles. The purpose of the device is to LEARN about what effects your flight. And MrCat, Why the f**k do you use Internet Explorer?! IE is the absolute worst Internet browser on the market today. Ask any computer tech.

Scotty, You're still gonna be the one to train me. Even if it means doing it out of a little cessna in Tampa :P

Don't want to start a new thread when it's kinda on the subject. Anyone do any business with this guy? All his postings seem to be in the Miscellaneous section and it's like he is parting out a bunch of rigs with no specifications. http://www.dropzone.com/classifieds/Detailed/Miscellaneous/Blue_Container_Pink_Reserve_139131.html

Suit would be good to learn freeflying in. The slower fallrate=less tweakyness. Anyways, I guess it's a "you get what you pay for thing?" If you ever order another one, try Freak n' Suits. They are affordable great quality suits. "Flares" is my personal favorite :P http://www.freaknsuits.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=22

Bought my first rig :D. Any thoughts?
Shredex replied to FastRodriguez's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Buying new is great! If you can afford it then definitely do it! That way there is newer rigs for newbies to buy in the future instead of having to buy a used 1993 rig for their first rig. Being skinny doesn't help with buying used, either. I'm 5'9" and 130lbs. When I bought my rig I couldn't tighten the leg straps down enough so I had to do some modifying in order for it to fit me properly. -
How do you know it wasn't a surprise? Even if you are armed, there is an extremely small chance that you will have the ability to draw your weapon and fire first if someone surprises you from behind. That's one person. Now if someone else in the area was armed, then that person could have witnessed this murder and then taken the murderer out.

I just checked, it was his 24th jump!

If you're looking for performance, whether it be speed, distance, or hang-time, I'd say take a look around http://www.paralog.net/ppc/. You can click on the challenges on the side-bar and see the top GPS recordings for that challenge and the suits they used to achieve that goal. You can also use the search bar at the top to search a specific wingsuit. Hang tight though because PF looks like they are about to release the Viper(huge wingsuit) as well as the Vampire 5.

I never buy from a seller that has 0 posts.

Wasn't Norman Kent's first camera jump on his 22nd jump as well?

Some places in mexico will teach you it at 50-60 jumps

I see what you mean. Sorry for the inconvenience. I just get really bored and anxious when I cant skydive and I'm pretty sure my friends are about ready to stab me if I say anything skydive related again...so talking on here is one way for me to calm my nerves. Sometimes stuff that comes out doesn't exactly come out right and some stuff that is really just a waste of time... Now back to the thread at hand!
