I pray in the plane after I touch my handles a million times or so and review all my emergency procedures. If I'm in the 182, I pray twice. It can't hurt. I would think that skydivers would tend to be a little more spiritual than most, even if we are a little rowdy. Jess Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....

Yes, I'm reviving a topic that was beaten to death-is there anywhere in California that gives discounts if you buy a certain number of tickets in advance? Someone mentioned something about Lodi, but I'm kinda leaning towards Perris for an excursion back to the mainland. Otherwise, maybe to Eloy, I have friends in AZ. Oh, damn. Anyone have any experience with a helmet that held up well to a hard whack? Other than the Protec that is, I've already tested that one, it worked and I'm going to get my own-I'm just doing a little research for after I finish paying for my rig and want something else. I'm looking at a few different helmets, ranging from a Protec (which I use now) to the Mindwarp-I keep seeing these little notes at the bottom of the descriptions that reveal that there is little or no testing or research behind them. Are there any helmets with a safety rating, or at least some testing data? Jess Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....

I need to move up there. In the meantime, if anyone migrates here for the winter, I will have a room available in January-quiet neighborhood, 15-20 min drive to the DZ. Wayward, loud, rowdy skydiviers encouraged to apply Jess Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....

Oh, and 2:3:0, including a mostly successful 2 way for the first time ever and an (standing up) end to a series of PLFs. Very cool, makes me grin if I think about it. Now if I can only make it through the week without killing anyone at work.... Jess Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....

You mainland people are making me jealous. I'm in a less than ideal place for a newbie to skydive, and the DZ is extremely tourist oriented...sigh....not many wild parties here.... Jess Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....

I would like to know how the lighter jumpers, men or women, went about downsizing and how quickly they did it. I weigh 120 pounds or so without gear, so 140 or less with gear, and I am jumping a very tired 185 square foot F111 canopy. I would also like to know how much harder it is to fly and land a Sabre 170. I have 20 jumps now, my student canopy was a Sabre 230 and I've been using the Falcon pretty much since then, with one or two jumps on whatever else was available (NAvigator 200 or 190, one on a Sabre 170 but I had a bad spot and landed downwind somewhere other than the DZ and thus didn't get a feel for it).Thanks.
