There are two camera perspectives. -
Geraldo Flores II ? Can't get stable but can hide a camera....

Given the quality, I'm assuming he pulled a potato out of his ass after he deployed? -
Who says they're lightly loaded? The rig weighs around 60 pounds so even slick there are bigger jumpers who can load it up well enough.

There are plenty of things in the world to be fake outraged about. This really isn't one of them.

Do you have a telephone? Call them.

This is basically how I have it set up. I break out jumps by DZ, aircraft, jump type, and canopy type. I have it sum up FF time as well. Along with always having a really cool snapshot of info, I got sick of adding things up every time I apply for things (license applications, canopy courses, coaching, etc.) so I just started dumping things into a sheet. It was annoying doing the initial information dump (started around 200 jumps) but now it's pretty easy to catch up every few weeks.

I'm aware and not sure how it's relevant. They could get out on dedicated jump runs they spot themselves with a steeply trimmed canopy too. It's not useful advice to anybody because it's plain wrong. If you're overshooting the target you need to change your pattern, not your canopy.
-
Must be why all those accuracy jumpers use steeply trimmed canopies.

Good joke.

This took me an embarrassingly long time to figure out.

If you're asking this question, I think you should re-read both of Bryan Burke's articles. To start off: and: What does that mean for 37 jumps?

What do you's prefer for your rig?

1st Main PD Sabre2 or Pulse? Advice please :)
excaza replied to justinbaker27's topic in Gear and Rigging
All things being equal & and the appropriate wingloading, with its flatter trim the Pulse is a more docile canopy than the Sabre2. I only have a couple jumps on a Pulse but I didn't find the landings any more difficult than the Sabre2, just slightly different timing. I prefer the flight characteristics of the Sabre2, but it really comes down to personal preference. -
Parachute Performance Factors

Your definition of performance is...? -
Pretty much every button lithium cell is going to be 2.8V-3V, so you can put in any of them and they'll work just fine. The 4 digit series specifies the physical dimensions. I've made some macgyver fixtures for small electronics in a pinch, it's a nice little tidbit of info. Just remember that there will be a difference (often significant) in charge capacity.

Either your question to them was poorly formed or you're understating the product to us here. I'm not sure why you would dredge this insanity up. I have no interest in proving you wrong again, and it's not at all relevant to this discussion. I'm from Earth, where part of my job is designing for manufacture. $150k for a mold is astronomically expensive. Adding adjectives isn't going to help you state your case. I'd be quite interested in seeing a generic single piece injection mold, I'm not sure it would work too well. That's great. What does that have to do with skydiving? I never disputed that it is less than ideal for RW. My statement spoke only to folks that I am friends with who are perfectly content with their Gath helmets for head down & angle flight. But please, continue whacking away at the strawmen.
-
No way. I can get a machine and a mold for that.
-
No.
-
I've seen plenty folks who primarily fly angle/headdown who enjoy wearing the helmet and are certainly heads up enough to throw the thing in the trash if all it did was funnel air into their eyes. It's not my cup of tea but calling it a useless deathtrap is a bit over the top.

Pranks on jumps - what is acceptable nowadays?
excaza replied to pchapman's topic in Safety and Training
Probably what happened with this jump: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3h-RVieE4Y -
I'm not sure why you guess these things when they're demonstrably wrong.
