  1. Just I packing tip, not an answer to any of your question. Have you tried to put the end cells into the middle cell when propacking. This will make the opening soft. Ask an experinced packer or rigger to show you. Pull high the first time you try this. It may stream for a while. I do this on my pd190 because there is a large hole cut in the slider. When not doing this I had some openings 2-3 seconds from pull to flying chute and that hurts a little bit . When packing like this it opens soft and smooth
  2. Sounds like a great idea. It would probably use a lot of battery power, but cellphones can do it so why not? It's probably possible to not feel the vibration, though. Depends on where you got it and how it's attached. -fudd There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.
  3. I did a single tracking jump once, and to be absolute sure to not get in anyones way, I exited last and tracked 45 degrees away from the dropzone from 13500' till 5000'. Wow, it's really possible to cover a huge distance. I had canopy at 4000 and didn't quite make it back to the landing area, but made it just to the camping area . Fun jump anyhow, and I learned a bit about what distances are possible to cover.

Umm, I think you meant 'industrial haze.' Yes, I'm sure that is what you meant. I don't think that you would actually admit to doing something 'illegal' would you? Is it true that it's not allowed to jump through clouds in the US. Here we do it all the time, but of course we prefer blue skies There are only 10 types of people in the world. 7. Norway has recently started wingload restriction. Here are the wingload restrictions in Norway: 0-200 jumps: 0.7-1.1 200-350 jumps: 1.1-1.3 350-500 jumps: 1.3-1.6 500 or more: You probably have enough experience to know what you are doing. -fudd There are only 10 types of people in the world. Birds

So it has happened. Oh, that had to hurt! glad he made it...
  10. If anyone intend to land the wingsuit, wearing a rigg would just add extra weight and generate extra speed. I think dropping the rigg would increase chances to survive. If you jump without a rigg, there won't be any possibilitie to chicken out, and you must not screw up in the spotting. I've never tried jumping a wingsuit, but I look forward to the day I can... I believe someday, someone will be crazy enough to try. I strongly doubt any insurance company ever will be crazy enough to give the madman an insurance...! Ever fallen through clouds? Ice crystals and rain hitting you at 200 km/h. It hurts! Here in Norway there's often some meat in the clouds at least...

    Birds

A student at the dz once asked me if it was dangerous to hit a bird in freefall. I guess it would hurt, but the odds of hitting one must be incredible small. Has anyone heard about any bird collisions or near misses??? Just wondering.... There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

I havn't tried one, but maybe for dive nr. 100. BUT I won't go through clouds naked...ouch...have to be blue skies...
  14. But the pin came out at last somehow, since you saw his main float away. I guess the bridle can mess up the pc if there is like 1-2m just stuffed in there after inserting the pc into the BOC. Then again, it sounds a bit like it maybe wasn't cocked properly, and didn't catch air. Anyway, since the main came out after the reserve was pulled there would have been a real danger for the main to get entangled into the reserve if you hadn't cut away. More info on what was done with the bridle would be appreaciated. I allways stuff excess bridle into the pouch so the wind can't catch it, but usualy this is not more than an inch or two. What type of container was it? -fudd There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.
  15. Yeah! Lets sing while we are climbing. Just humming can be nice, or hand out song books [singing]Fly me to the moon and let me play among the start. 16. Good job saving your life !!! Have you jumped again after the reserve? I can recomend getting up there again as soon as possible. I had my first reserve ride some weeks ago because of a simular mistake. I was pretty shaken afterwards. To jump again, pull, and get a working canopy really feels great. I was nervous like hell though, but so much calmer when I had jumped again. What did you do wrong with the bridle? I'd like to know? Seems like bridle misrouting is a common cause for reserve rides. Specially for jumpers with low number of jumps. I'm sure everyone is telling you: "At least now you know how you will react, and that the emergency procedure works. Your lucky!" It might be true, but I do not feel lucky......how about you? How was the reserve ride. I were scared shitless about the speed I came down in. How about you? How big and whats your wingloading on your reserve? -fudd

    Addictive sport

Is this the end of my world as I know it. I have passed the point of now return. Tumbeling down the rabbit hole. I've taken the red pill... --- oh how dull the winter is gonna be!!! --- There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

    Addictive sport

Ever since I started skydiving, I can't think of nothing else. Just wants to go to the DZ and stay there. Everything else is just so dull, and I'm getting depressed. Sometimes I think back how nice it was to be a whuffo and not knowing what you're missing out of. Will this ever pass, or should I just surrender and move to a caravan at the DZ???? There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.
  19. I just started skydiving this summer. So far it has worked out. I yet haven't been able to get her to come with me to the dz and I don't think she'll ever start jumping. However she has started to call herself a skydiving-widow because I have been away at the dz a lot. I'll guess thats a warning sign. There's probably no absolute answers to how to keep the relationship going along with the sport. It depends much on the personality of the partners and on how much you trust your second half. It seems like skydiving breaks a lot of relationships. I'm hoping it won't break mine, but time will tell. It makes me sad everytime I hear about a relationship thats broken because of the sport, and I feel with you. I hope you meet a great skydiving chick whom you can share your passion with in the future. -fudd

    BT 50

I was offered a BT-50 once, but it's too small for me anyway. When I asked around about the characteristic of the canopy I got told it was: Really busty openings, but great fun to fly. One guy said: I got 600 jumps on one of those and 3 reserve rides. Also, there might be that newer versions has new modifications so that it opens better. Ask around and take it for some test jumps. I only got this info second hand... There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.
  21. I don't get hurt Seriously, by normal standards I should have hurt myself several times, not only during skydiving. I've walked away without scratches from diving headdow concrete stairs on inlines. I've accedentally run of 4-5 meter high cliffs on slalom skies. I've chopped myself in the ancle with an axe by accident. (chopping wood). It hurt a little, but I didn't even get a bruise... Never broken a single bone in my body. Guess I might be "unbreakable" There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.
  22. 65/1 (container lock) It was my own mistake. I had a line over once too, but got lucky and it cleared itself even before i got the breaks unstowed. Don't know how it happend. I think the person who had my canopy before me was a little lighter than me, because it's cut a 10" hole in my slider. Had some hard openings until I started stuffing the end cells into the middle one. Now I get it to open smooth each time. There are only 10 types of people in the world.
