  3. I think thats an old rule of thumb. I think todays manufactures make the rig for the canopies you tell them your going to put in it. Thats been my experience with Sun Path and UPT. 4. Why the hell does it take so long? I can buy anything online with a credit card and instantly my card gets charged and I get a confirmation email and what ever it is I bought shows up in a few days. A month is what it takes USPA. 11. I've saw this problem when my wife got a new rig. The answer we got from the mfg rep was to modify her pull position. Seemed that when she went to pull and her hand went over her hear her torso twisted as she tried to reach for her hacky. The fix was for her not to put her left hand over her head but to put it in front of her face. This cured the problem for her. 12. Do you use a Cypres? I have one. I turn it on before I jump. Do you mean that or do you mean do I wait for it to cut my reserve loop? Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea.
  13. You can take an expert model and bump the activation altitude up to (say) 1500' AGL using the offset functionality, but now you've moved the "does not fire below" altitude up to 880' AGL. If that's what you really want to do, drive on. Just know that there are second-order effects. Ken I was asking Nigel...quizzing him to see if he understood the problem with that. Thanks anyway. I'm not sure what the problem with that is. Could you explain? Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea.

  15. I don't know if it was that jump but it was on Saturday and the pilot handed me the raft after landing and I took it and put it in the loading tent. They put the duals in and let me fly it to Walmart on a beer and smokes run so they weren't to worried about the Hobbs time. 16. I don't know if doing a raft dive at a boogie with three aircraft in the air is a very good idea. The helicopter pilot saw the raft and called it out to the skyvan and otter. Then he followed it down, landed, got out and grabbed it and brought it back. Class act. 17. I particulary enjoyed the "I was following the cut away down when I lost sight of it and it ended up in my lines and I had to cut away" visual from above... Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea.

  19. While my plane was in for paint and there were some delays for the windshield and glare shield, I had them strip the remaining "glue" that was on the interior of the plane from the origional insulation and then paint it with zinc chromate primer which made it look good, didn't add hardly any weight and didn't do anything for sound insulation. Came out pretty good. Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea.

This guy jumps out, has a premature opening at 13000, passes out shortly after opening and lands on the grass, on the airport, near the runway? And he videos the whole thing? Doesn't pass the smell test... Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea.
