I was responding to Fencebusters pay scales and what some in the industry think is fair. If you're all friends and its not anything but friends, payment should be more along the line of presents or gift cards. $25 a flight hour would be appropiate. how many of us have flown and dived?
DBCOOPER replied to joelgibson's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
about 1300 hours fixed wing about 3300 hours rotary about 1200 jumps would probably be about 2200 jumps if I didn't have to fly jumpers...thats the issue... Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea. -
It does? Seems quite reasonable.I mean they probably only spent 25K to get their ratings. So they fly a load of tandems, only takes them .5. Thats nine bucks. Now the kid packing those tandems makes three times that and his training cost him nothing. Was mapping my route from Spokane and the map program in my iPhone, when you put it into satellite view, shows the Prairie during a boogie :) Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea. -
Can a Cookie G2/3 help keep you from drowning?

As a military helicopter pilot I was trained to take the flight helmet off and use it to cup air and hold on to it close to my chest. Works just like holding on to a beach ball. That model might work at a real busy turbine dz but not for a 182 dz. Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea. -
Where it really bites sea level jumpers is when there is no wind or light and variable winds, My first jump at Moab with density altitudes approaching 7000 feet at the Cave Man Ranch was a thing of beauty. Was jumping a Pilot 140 at about 1.4. Managed to get it to plane out but couldn't get it to slow down till I hit the edge of the helipad. Got up bleeding from both elbows and one knee. Ripped my reserve flap and jump suit.Crashed and burned at the airport landing area the next day in light and variable winds. And I wasn't alone. Then the winds picked up and I began to understand how people jump at that density altitude.UPT was there with demos so I managed to get a Pulse 170 for the rest of the boogie. It was quite an eye opener. Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea.

In all honesty a 182 slot would cost $40 to 10.5 to make it worth while as a fun jumper only business. Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea. -
You right if your talking about doing "air work". There is plenty of time to practice after they leave. To go from jump run speed to a full stall only takes about 10 seconds depending on what configuration you want to put the plane in. Every landing I do I try to simulate a forced landing if traffic permits.Did it yesterday with no difference in turn times. Try it. I'm talking about 182s here. Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea.

Once everyone leaves the pilot can stall the plane a bunch of times without significantly adding to turn times. Forced landings can be practiced to the runway. About the only thing you can't practice is spins. And it doesn't really cost anything noticeable. It's like a video guy practicing to swoop at the end of a working dive. All it takes is desire. How many skydiving plane accidents have been the stall/spin type this year? How many have been from fuel starvation? Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea.

So with a Monarch 200 reserve with the data label that says it can't be used unless it was packed in the last 120 days what's the ruling? Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea.

Tough in the King Air, person has to wear a rig and no seat, just a straddle bench. But still do'able. Though the regs say you have to have a seat unless you going to make an intentional jump? Jump Door for Cessna 182P SUCCESS !!!!!
DBCOOPER replied to goobersnuftda's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
***Thanks for the picture. Can you give me the STC# so I can look up more information? I'd like to see it also. Never saw a door with a window in the bottom like the one in the picture. I would imagine it would take quite a beating in a skydiving application.
