STRONG ADVICE. You may HATE wingsuiting and while all the mods are needed if this is to become your thing, don't blow money away too soon... My .02

the rental service I've provided ALSO provides canopies and expert coaching...

It may help that I've purchased three new suits from them in the past... But I digress. WINGSUIT!

You can, if you ask the right guy nicely. insert winky face. (that guy would be located here:https://squirrel.ws/

Soooooo, I had the pleasure of flying this one piece wonder last week and it was pretty much everything I expected it to be: AWESOME! I can only compare it too the other "tracking suits" I've flown, the Phoenix Fly PTS and Squirrel Sausage. The two piece suit I LOVED. Bought it brand new and jumped it like crazy in preparation for Wingsuiting. (which i highly recommend if you aim to join the flock one day...) The Sausage however was purchased second hand (third actually) and In my opinion should be scraped all together. NOT stable enough for my liking and sent me into turns I didn't want! THE MUTATION however is, how I describe: a wingless wingsuit! Super stable and go's where you want! I don't have any flysight feedback unfortunately but when I'm ready for another tracking suit, this is the one. (I'm sure the onesie is just as, if not better in the glide department. I fly squirrel for reasons...) Happy tracking.

FLY BEFORE YOU BUY!!! Just demo the damn thing. http://arcusflight.ws/wingsuit-rental/

Until you do, and then it's too late. Don't rule out the unpopular/unattractive PRO TEC to cover the bean. AND that price!!!

After pissing away 300 bones on some "other" brand with ZERO impact rating, one then finds the above ^ My next helmet will be a Tonfly for sure... The rest fall into the glorified GOPRO holder realm.

Drogue entanglement and reserve ride, Mesquite

So why did you bring it up then??? -
+1 on the Storm. Don't get me wrong, I love the canopy over all and it's not a terrible WS option, BUT there are better options.

They minimized the height of the cells. Top to bottom skin I believe.

Food for thought on the Winx. Contact Jarno directly for info. He gives pretty good return on inquires... He is also the dealer I went through. I had ZERO issues with my business experience... (Yes you need a middle man!) On that same line, if someone is selling something and not "pushing" it, well usually the product speaks for itself... So think about it! it will be a few months before this daddy can provide direct feedback.

Like your president says: they knew what they signed up for. They did not expect to be abandoned and sacrificed as a political cover-up. I HATE to even acknowledge you exist, however I feel I need to point out that those people who died in Benghazi knew the risks involved. Kinda like when a soldier dies in the line of... Yeah, the difference between the two? Pay rate/uniform.

THIS!!! P.S., I love you! I was stationed at Yuma for a few years. The guys working security of the base fence line to the south said they sometimes would get border crossers come up to the ammo depot at night and ask if it was the gate to America (lights were bright in the dark desert). So, a reason to put something at Yuma (maybe 15 miles worth) and Tucson (another 20-ish miles?) is that it is pretty obvious there is civilization there. Even the very tiny towns between the two along the border are not obvious enough to attract someone from several miles away. And once you've been stumbling through unforgiving desert for a week or more, you tend to gravitate toward the first sign of life you notice. Between those towns at the extreme west and the easternmost areas of Arizona, you also have preserve land. My first few weeks on the job at Yuma I had to deal with the discovery of 26 corpses in the Cabeza Prieta national wildlife refuge. They were people trying to cross unnoticed through the desert. Not many at all make it through there alive,* and those who do, as you cited, are pretty easily apprehended. This protected area and others like it in the southwest are another reason not to destroy the land with a redundant wall. *Story tangent: We (military) have aerial training rights in the airspace above the preserve, so when news got out about the deaths, I got a call from a news producer in NY who wanted to know "what kind of military range is it? Is it a bombing range?" When I told her it was a wildlife refuge, home to dozens of endangered species of critters and plants, that we not only could not violate but were committed to protecting, she sounded almost disappointed, and said if they had any more questions, I'd get a call from the LA office. She was hoping she had the next Vieques story. *second tangent: the desert is so very unforgiving that even experienced sportsmen who know the area and the land fall victim. A colleague just lost his son to the Arizona desert. Former SF, spent years camping and hiking in this area. He made one (at the time) minor mistake, and it cost him the ability to get back to his vehicle and water in time. His body was found about a quarter mile from his truck as he tried to get back. Bottom line: it is not as easy as it might sound to get across the south Arizona desert to sneak into the U.S. We do have physical barriers in places it has been shown to help, but a wall from the Pacific Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico is wasteful, expensive, destructive and more than overkill for any it may possibly stop from coming. We spend much less on the salaries and equipment of those who apprehend anyone who does make it through.

For me, 100% environmental. I care far more about wildlife than people. Because, people suck...

There is A LOT more going on in the prevention of WS line twists other than flaring... Some may agree that a faster extraction would help mitigate line twists... Think BIG picture when thinking clean WS deployments...

Troops at U.S. Border to Cost About $210 Million
timski replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner
Have you REALLY considered what it would take to "secure" the borders??? Basically it's impossible. True security to cover ALL of the water ways alone is impossible, let alone every square mile of land both North and South. Just putting up a wall doesn't secure shit. TK FOR PRESIDENT!!! I get that and I am not in favor of "The wall". So do you think we should not try to stop anyone from entering illegally? Rick, what I'm saying is simple, border security is a huge undertaking that requires boots on the grounds coupled with ALL the technology available to be done somewhat successfully. It also takes experience and commitment and REAL leadership. You know, something other than the fucking circus that is currently running the show... -

How often do you need to replace your double wrapped rubber bands?
timski replied to JTH's topic in Gear and Rigging
Looks to me like a REALLY bad idea. IMO that is a recipe for out of sequence deployment, resulting in funky opening. I double stow ALL four grommet's(elastic's) with a bag just like that. I do have slightly less bulk with a 7 cell... Perhaps think about a semi-stowless? To answer the question, I replace one of the two main locking stows every 5 jumps on average. "The cost of doing business".
