  1. One weekend at Perris Cap't Hooks Sky Pirates were practicing their 10 man speed stars and told everybody that after they got together anybody else could come in on their formation, I got 4 20 man's in a row that day, there is something to be said about "the good old days".
  2. A good friend of mine lost almost all of his skydiving memorabilia due to a car fire some years ago, I would like to see if I can replace all of his RW patches if I can. I can get the SCR patches and the night 21 he was in and the 30 man with the 3 X's but I need the rectangular, black twenty man patch with the 2 X's, the 24man patch and a 16 man patch preferably the one with the fat 16 but I won't be choosey. Any help in this would be greatly appreciated.
  3. Yes, and I have plenty of formation stars under my belt and like both I just wanted to keep them seperate. I used to have a list of the people on that jump but I lost one of my log books and over the years who knows where the list went. I have one of the original patches that was issued for that jump but my good jumping buddy Sam Marshall who was on Cap't. Hooks team doesn't have one so I had a few made and have extras.
  4. I also have 30 man patches for the jump that was made for Jerry Lewis Telethon over I believe the old Ontario raceway. I think that star was a 32/34. Keep in mind people that these patches are for round formations, I know that is going to result in me being called a racist or worse but it is what it is, the big round stars are harder to fly than the formations and deserve their own awards.....end of rant.
  5. BTW they are not free, unfortunately I had to pay to get these made, the audacity of some people!
  6. I have some patches for the night 21 man that was made over Elsinore 12/8/73, I do not know how to get in touch of all the members of that jump and at least 5 of them have passed away. if anybody has been in a night formation that large or larger and have a pic I would be happy to sell the rest that I have.
  7. Does anyone out there have a contact for Al Kruger? If not Al, Sharron Fielding.
  8. Dale Thurber D3622, SCR1932 and SCS653 has passed away. Pin man for Wild's Bunch 10 man speed star team.
  9. rev.202205v3 www.squirrel.ws Slider Brake Installation SQRL sliders with removable slider brakes allow you the opportunity to quickly and easily configure your gear for different types of jumps. Here are a few key points for the installation of the slider brakes. The 4G & 6G SLIDERS have three configurations: 1. No Slider Brake (mesh only). Recommended for the lowest airspeed openings (subterminal delays and low airspeed wingsuit openings). 2. Small Slider Brake (38x38cm). Recommended for moderately high airspeed openings (airspeed-controlled wingsuit and tracking jumps). 3. Large Slider Brake (57x38cm). Recommended for the highest airspeed openings (terminal/slick/tracking jumps). It is critical that you understand when and when not to use a slider brake. There are many variables that control parachute opening speed. Jumper velocity and body configuration, pilot chute type, wingsuit or tracking suit type, line material (Spectra or Dacron), line condition (new or used), and atmospheric conditions will all affect the opening speed and the resulting force on you and your equipment. For instance, deploying your vented canopy from a steep terminal track with a 38” PC and the mesh-only slider would be a mistake, and the resulting hard opening could damage you or your equipment. Conversely, using the large slider brake with a 34” PC on a subterminal jump opening near terrain would also be a mistake. Pack and configure your equipment for each jump that you do. Due to the large amount of variables, particularly in jumper airspeed and body position, it is impossible to create a set of fixed guidelines for your equipment. You must choose the gear configuration based on progressive and conservative jumping with large safety margins. 1 2 3 Note that the slider brake is installed on the BOTTOM side of the slider. 10. I looked at those sometime ago when i was looking into doing some base work in Idaho and it seemed like a pretty good idea, keeps the steering lines separated and i wondered why it wasn't incorporated into skydiving canopies.
  11. That looks like more time would have been spent on the dirt dives than the actual jump!
  12. I'm not a real big fan of RW other than the round stars but this was very well done, what altitude did they go out at?
  13. "What can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence"
  14. Where did this take place?
  15. When Newsweek contacted Parlatore via email for comment, we were directed to an earlier statement: "Mr. Hegseth is completely innocent. He was cleared after a police investigation determined that the woman was the aggressor in the situation and was then the subject of blackmail. This entire episode detracts from all the women out there who are true victims."
  16. well, it's tough to say, could be his packing but maybe a new line set is in order.
  17. short or long? Hard to be short but possible
  18. They say they can make a ram air parachute , talk is cheap, first they have to make a canopy or two and jump them to make sure they are O.K. Then we will see.
  19. Yes, you need the STC, I believe the paperwork is STC SA11-68, go online for the maker.
  20. Oh yeah, I'm liking that, a very good excuse to go last! I used to ask Steve Fielding "how come you get to go last all the time". his reply "It's my load" I am real close, I can get a smaller rig if I use the Pilot ZPX but I'd rather have the sabre 3, better lower end and it's only one size larger, I'll look for you at Perris.
  21. I actually not fixated on it I'm just trying to get the smallest neatest container system I can, I suppose moving up a size is not the end of the world. Good point! As soon as I can ascertain which canopy I am going to get (I have chosen the reserve) I'll get them sent to me and take them over to infinity for the containers.
