  1. Unbelievable. The government should sue the church for the full amount not expect us to pay. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca
  2. Why is that? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/1442995/Irish-child-abuse-pay-outs-will-cost-more-than-725m.html This is as fucked up as it gets. The people of Ireland are ripped off more than their fair share as it is, now this. 3. Thats what I would like to know! I heard it on RTE news today but they didn't say why. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca
  4. If you had a gun with one round in it, a axe, and were in a shed and pinned to a table by a nail through your prick and someone set fire to the shed would you chop off your prick with the axe or shoot yourself? 6. The poll options are stupid and biased. I voted no not even if my childrens life depended on it Fir starters we live in the real world not a episode of 24 and especially if my childrens life depends on it would be more acurate as you couldn't guarentee that the victim isn't just telling you whatever you want to hear to stop the torture. Actually I don't know why I bothered to vote its a crap poll. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. 7. Another thing about this that pisses me off is that the Church is only going to be liable for €128M and WE the Irish tax payer is going to have to cough up €1 BILLION in compensation.. So we get to pay for old perverts kiddy fiddling while the Church that employed/employes them and covered it all up andis stinking rich gets off with paying next to nothing (In reletive terms) When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. 10. I agree, its disgraceful. Old perverts higher up covering up for junior perverts. Its beyond belife that the Christian brothers, the Church in Ireland or the Vatican have not made any comment on this report. Shameful. 11. Your comment spurred a mental exercise … can the quote mean/suggest/imply the inverse of what the speaker likely intended? Just my changing cues, i.e., what I inserted in blue, one can read it as a Workers of the World Unite anthem, which is I doubt what Rev Rogers intended. “You cannot legislate the poor (proletariat) into freedom by legislating the wealthy (bourgeoisie) out of freedom. What one person (in the bourgeoisie) receives without working for, another person (in the proletariat) must work for without receiving. The government (of the bourgeoisie) cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else (in the proletariat). When half of the people (those in the bourgeoisie) get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half (those in the proletariat) is going to take care of them, and when the other half (in the proletariat) gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.” Revolution! /Marg i like that, very good Marg. 15. It would be easy to sit here and counter post a sarcastic reply. But I'm not going to i'd rather know what your thoughts on the mater you posted on are. Freedom is a word bandied around by Americans all the time, but freedom? Freedom from what? Taxes? The above is simply confusing freedom with money. Thats how democratic societies work, we all give our taxes, they get spent on things we never even see (roads in places we'll never visit, hospitals we'll never use, public transport we'll never use, social welfare we may never claim. But surely that is fair, as one may have money today but what happens if you loose you're job, your health (Insurance only stretchs so far) all your belongings? Then you get to claim that which you have been contributing to. Obviously, thats how tax works. However it assumes that the recipient never paid anything in in the first place. Load of crap. So the fear is that approximatly 130,000,000 Americans will be bludging off the other 130,000,000? This is nothing more than fear mongering. What kind of an opinion must one have of the enemployed to assume such a thing? This would be the case if half of the population made nothing, contributed nothing and were happy to take without contributing. If that is the case then your society is fucked way before this scenario comes to fruition. No but you can create wealth via speculation and investment. The quote in the OP is nothing more than a poorly disguised road sign to the path of facisim. 16. I agree. The real world is black and white!!! You totally nailed it. You either do well for yourself, or you are a have not in need of help. You are either strong, or you are weak and in need of help. I like this binary reality shit! Oh and I totally despise the mentally disabled, poor peoples kids, and stray dogs. i'm gald you like it, seeing as you made it up. its a sliding scale, those who make more contribute more. Not all that difficult to grasp if you try. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca
  17. Yes there is every need. He is a thug and needs to be sacked. He lost control and kicked that guy in the head for fucks sake - that's not the kind of person I want taking my tax money. But at least he's not the Speaker of the house of commons! When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca
  18. Ahhh, well. It just goes to show how we can all be a bit hasty when it come to making a judgement call without having all the facts. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca
  19. Bloody hell Andy, couldn't you find a cut down version, 5 minutes of the world most boring footage (how the hell does that make live news) As for the copper he looks like a total wanker. 20. Source: http://www.eagletribune.com/punewshh/local_story_135220825.html He's got guns, lots of ammo and lots of cash! Good gosh, lock the bastard up! He's got to be guilty of something! 22. That depends on the hospital... Here is one that YOU PERSONALLY are paying for... http://www.uclh.nhs.uk/Our+hospitals/Royal+London+Homoeopathic+Hospital.htm When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. 23. What makes me angry is that the NHS actually funds 'Homeopathy hospitals'. As there is no scientific proof that it works then surly its time to consign homeopathy to private practice. It does have a place though for people who simply need a good chat and unburnden themselves to someone, GP's used to do this but are now to busy. However if someone really is sick Homeopathy will not make them better. My sister in law is a homeopath, she is very well meaning and actually believe the nonsense she practices but you wouldn't believe the stuff she comes out with. 24. So do you not believe in social responsibility? Do you not believe that the strong should protect the weak? Do you really believe that all people are born equal? I pay more taxes than people who are less well off, makes sense. I have had a better education I have a better job, a better standard of living. I can afford private health insurance but never forget those who can't. I struggled to get to where I am in life but don't dispise those in my society who either were not able to or didn't have the strength to. With privilage comes responsibility.
