yea but the Chinese are willing to pay for it. As for the suicide bombers they will just self detonate, admittedly it could help in the co-ordination of an attack though but then again they could simply look at their watches and press at a specified time anyway. We have to pay for him anyway so why not let him earn his keep. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca

I agree, its been very poorly implemented, I think pat of the problem is that no one knows quite what exactly it is. I also like the idea but do think the Conservatives are using it as a vehicle for spending cuts. There was the suggestion by Dave that school leavers volunteer. The only other example I've heard of is the plans for greater powers of veto for local residents over planning permissions. Is Ken Clarke playing fast and lose with prisoner plans?

Sounds like a splendid idea Nigel, South Georgia and East Falkland to start with! Then we could just put them on a plane to the USA and get them to claim political asylum instead and let the Americans deal with them. Someone should have their balls on the block for leaking this story. If the media hadn't have become involved then no one would have been the wiser. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca

What does Dave’s big society mean to you? What do you understand by it and are you a supporter of it or do you believe its’ just a way of implementing cuts and expecting the rest of us to pick up the tab? So Boris is planning to accept a Chinese offer to pay for the installation on a system on the Tube which will allow commuters to use their mobiles. Red Ken recons it’s a security issue but Boris doesn’t think so at all. Whats your view? Personally I like the idea but then again I don’t have to cram on to a tube twice a day! Palestinian Authority London office status raised by HM Gov
Skyrad replied to Skyrad's topic in Speakers Corner
Great news, the PA office in London has been elevated in status by the Government to that of Mission, another step closer to full diplomatic recognition of the Palestinian state, as the UK gives very large sums of financial aid to the Palestinians it has been decided to move towards an even closer relationship. http://uk.news.yahoo.com/22/20110307/tpl-uk-britain-palestinian-c3c492c.html When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Following allegations about his acquaintance with an American paedophile should Prince Andrew step down from his position as a UK trade envoy? Personally I don’t think he should as one thing has nothing to do with the other, he costs us around 4 million a year but helps bring in millions more every year in this unpaid position. As for spending time with an American kiddy fiddler I’m sure that he has to do business with many morally abhorrent individuals as part of his role as trade envoy, after all we do business with some rather vile types (for the greater good of course). Are HM Gov plans to reduce prisoners simply another cost cutting exercise? http://uk.news.yahoo.com/5/20110307/tuk-labour-slams-clarke-over-prisoner-pl-45dbed5.html When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Libyan pilots defect rather than bomb protesters
Skyrad replied to ryoder's topic in Speakers Corner
Would you still say that if it turns out that the protesters are Islamist extremists trying to over throw the government? Yes. Bombing your own countrymen is usually a bad idea. How about a surgical strike on the Westboro Baptist Church headquarters? I take it you'd be all for it? Hmmm.... Still thinking.... Tempting.... I'm glad they did the right thing. Surprised to see you supporting Al-Jama’a al-Islamiyyah al-Muqatilah bi-Libya. I'll have to get you a 'I love Al Quieda' T-shirt for your birthday.
