1. Congratulations !! My last copy of Parachutist only contained the front and back cover. Glad they mentioned it here. Respect the Dolphin
2. Sweeping Generalization? I've never met Steve and I live 100's of miles from him. I've also lived in several states. I've gotten those statements or at least picked up onthe sentiment - too nice (whatever that means) or a jerk. However, most of these women have ended up in not so good relationships. The guy they end up with just turns out to be a bonehead. Respect the Dolphin
3. My first freefall was somewhat uneventful - thank god. I do know I was scared to death of the door and tried not to show it. I think I failed at hiding my fear. I had no trouble jumping out though. It was an AFF jump so my mind was more focused on the dive flow than the view or sensation. I just remember tasting cold air and the extreme wind in my face. My video shows me kicking my feet. I got the legs out signal several times. I constantly had one eye on my altimeter. I had done a tandem a year before that and I soon realized that had just been a ride. Stability was a lot harder here. I think it was around jump 3 that I became more aware. It was the coolest thing when I pulled and saw my coaches falling away from me. I remember thinking "what are they waiting for - pull!" Jump 5 (I think) - one coach, not holding onto my grips: best exit up to that point. We were the last out and I looked up at the plane for the first time and the pilot made a hard banked turn. Coach said my jaw just dropped when I saw that. I believe him. That was the level where I was doing 360's and really having fun. That's when it started to feel like flying. Respect the Dolphin

So long, thong

I take it we're talking about thong bikinis. I live in Sarasota and I believe thongs were banned here as well. I don't think it's strictly enforced because I still see a few. I do think a license should be required to wear one. Few do their thong justice. Respect the Dolphin

9. I have a roommate who is terrible with women and wears the skirt in every (though few) relationship he's ever had. They treat him like shit. He became desparate because he feels he has to have a mate. He's now dating this girl that's very crass, emotionally immature, bossy, dramatic, and not all that cute. But, she is desperate as well so I think they just unknowingly agreed that they would stay together. He went from not caring for her personality or looks to buying a house that she helped him pick out. It seems like it's a game for him and now that he has someone he hasn't come in last place. Myth Dispelled

Myth Dispelled: Shoe Size, Penis Size Not Linked Mon Sep 30,11:02 AM ET By Keith Mulvihill NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - Despite eons of speculation to the contrary, two British scientists have laid to rest the idea that a man's shoe size is in any way correlated to the size of his penis. Their scientific study found no link between the two variables, according to a report in the British Journal of Urology International. "This myth has now been dispelled," Jyoti Shah of St. Mary's Hospital in London told Reuters Health. "There is no point using shoe size to obtain indirect measurements of penile length." To date, there have only been two studies that evaluated the relationship between the size of a man's foot and the length of his penis, according to Shah and colleague Dr. N. Christopher of University College Hospitals. While one study showed a "weak correlation" the other showed no correlation--but this study relied on men self-reporting their own penis length and shoe size. In the current study, the researchers studied men visiting a urologist for various reasons. Because it wasn't feasible to measure the length of the erect penis, the researchers measured the penis when gently stretched. "There is a strong correlation between stretched penile length and erect, and thus it is not necessary to obtain erect lengths," Shah said in an interview with Reuters Health. "The correlation is so strong that the results can be extrapolated to erect penises." In all, 104 men had their penis measured and had their shoe size recorded. The investigators found no correlation between shoe size and penis length. "The supposed association of penile length and shoe size has no scientific basis," they conclude in the report. Is there another body part that accurately estimates the size of a man's penis? "There are suggestions from the literature that hand span, finger lengths or nose size...may be predictive," according to Shah. "I have some ideas that I am currently putting together as a research proposal," the researcher added. "There must be some part of the body that is predictive of penile length...the search continues." found at: http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story2&cid=571&ncid=751&e=1&u=/nm/20020930/hl_nm/penis_shoe_dc Respect the Dolphin

15. I think my experience is pretty much the same as Hooked's. Still trying to figure out what it going to take to keep me satisfied. That frequency of jumps factored with $$$. I'm getting poor fast. Respect the Dolphin
16. Did a tandem about a year and a half ago with a group of friends jsut to see what it was like and just to be able to tell people I did it. I was in awe. When they told me I could go back up again the same day cheaper then the last jump I wanted to go so bad. but it was late in the afternoon and we had a long drive ahead and my friend that was driving was not willing to wait for me - I was the only one who enjoyed it. I kept saying I was going to do AFF. Went online, got all the info and facts. Kept saying I was going to do it. Ended up dating someone for a while and forgot about AFF. After about a year of dating we broke up last May. A week or two later I bought the seven level AFF package. Maybe someday - like real soon - I'll actually have my license. Just a few more jumps and some other minor details. I'm not giving this up anytime soon. It gets better with each jump. I never expected to meet so many encouraging people. Respect the Dolphin

What Should I Do?

I agree with the Florida advice. Summer is hot as hell but you get used to it. Winters aren't too bad. They only last a couple of weeks. Plenty of hotels in Orlando and Tampa. I live in Sarasota and we have Winter is the busy season. I thought I would never live in Florida or anywhere in the sout (native to the Philly area) but it's been almost 5 years and I don't want to leave. Tough decision. Wish I had a savings to live on. Right now no job=no $$$= no skydiving. Respect the Dolphin
25. So it's not me. It's them. I should have known all along. I'm just too handsome - NOT. Respect the Dolphin
