Why would you want to open your door and injure a biker? Do you realize that some of us ride motorcycles that are air cooled and must keep moving to prevent the bike from overheating? I had a $1000+ repair bill when one of those assholes lane split and knocked off my mirror, and smashed the hell out of my fender, hood, and A pillar... And the asshole just kept going...
-
This bothers me less than Lane Splitting. These fuckers are begging me to open my door in their path and just submit the damage claim to their insurance company. i'm more than observant about motorcycles, but riding a donorcycle does not entitle you to break the law.

Bradley Manning Hearing Ends with No Clear Sign of Harm Done to US
gher replied to dreamdancer's topic in Speakers Corner
At the end of it all, Manning broke the laws he was subject to under the UCMJ. All the warm fuzzy feelings he may have from other pussy Anarchists will be of no comfort when he spends 25+ years at Leavenworth or Florence ADMAX. And Monday Morning keyboard quarterbacks like Douchedrinker will move onto their next Cause Célèbre du Jour. And when he supports (consequence-free) others like he now does for Manning, he'll strut and fret his hour upon the stage, And shall be heard no more: it is a tale Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, Signifying nothing. (Apologies to Wm. Shakespeare) -
Let Your Life Be a Counter-Friction to Stop the Machine
gher replied to dreamdancer's topic in Speakers Corner
As criminals up the arms ante, the police must respond in kind. I'd sooner see over armed cops (if that's truly possible) and dozens of dead criminals versus under-equipped/armed police and even one dead Cop... -
don't worry - the sky hasn't fallen in yet. about $15/hour should do the economic trick... And you've researched this between bouts of not answering whether or not you pay Thai or UK income tax? Moving on... ok, $4 for that soda, and you wont get out of a fast food restaurant for less than $12 a person. Yeah...No thx.

"Your Country?" Shut your mouth, immigrant. I was born here. This is My country. You're so boastful about the tenacity of your beloved Drittes Reich, why did you choose to come to MY country?
-
not very surprising - with the cost of living*, anyone who is unemployed for very long has to get out of dodge. My rent is over 1800, and is a bit on the low side as I've been here for 8 years. I wonder how the homeless and the Occupiers are counted in this unemployment rate. I'm going to venture: not. *one consequence of the min wage and the mandated sick leave and heath care coverage is seen in the price at lunch. The floor for lunch is 8-9$, and it's very easy to get in the 10-15 range for a a sandwich, drink, bag of chips equivalent. Like i said, add a Zero to the minimum wage,(increase by a factor of 10) and the cost of everything will similarly jump 10x... You might be making $20/hr, but a 20oz Soda is now $5. Have fun w/that.

Illinois'/Chicago's Gun Laws are working out SO WELL...
gher replied to gher's topic in Speakers Corner
Just read the front page of the Chicago Tribune's webpage. In the Chicago metro area--Not fewer than 5 people shot dead, one a Cop--what the Hell is going on in there??? I'm so glad that the Gun Laws are working out well there. A city of unarmed victims... -

Nonsense. The actual charge sheet was posted in the NY Times. Read the charges. Manning has admitted that he stole documents, added foreign software to classified programs, dispensed classified intell to unauthorized persons and so on for several pages. Manning is going to be in the Leavenworth joint for a very, very long time. But he has dreamdancer's support, so he's got that going for him...Which is nice. A nice warm fuzzy feeling to keep him going when he spends time with his Cellie. -

Define "Assault Weapon" by not using cosmetic attributes... -

Same as it's always been - to make vague accusations and insults to gun owners, as seen directly above. It's not me who is claiming that this behavior is normal for gun owners. What criteria would you employ to spot nutters before they do something? Bear in mind that your solutions cannot infringe on the rights of those with no issues.
-
Right, it's really unfair to say that a Texan who dresses up as Santa and then shoots dead 6 members of his family is mentally disturbed. Could be normal behavior. it is, barring an eval from a qualified Mental Health professional. He could just be an asshole.
-
At the end of it all, unlike the Countries Dr. Kallend cited, the right of private ownership of arms, to include handguns, has been deemed to be fundamental to the rights of Americans in the US Constitution. To muse as to what the US would be without that right is mental masturbation, barring an amendment repealing the 2nd Amendment. The problem here is the definition of "Nutter." Is it defined before or after one does something? What sort of "Something," after performed, constitutes "Nutterism?" Who gets to decide if a particular act fits Nutter Criteria? What sort of academic background gives one the right to apply the criteria with authority? Next, you need to see if all the existing laws were properly enforced--Did the System work? If the system did not work, was it due to a mistake of one of the persons charged with enforcing it, or is the procedure inherently flawed? If the procedure was flawed, is it necessary to re-write it or simply ensure proper enforcement in the future? And all the hot air spewed on DZ.com has absolutely F**k-all effect on reality. We're all simply going to go back to work tomorrow or the day after and punch in, pitch in, punch out, and go home to bitch again on DZ.com.

My questions still stand. Why are you afraid to answer them?
-
Yeah, it's rough seeing a Theocracy fail. Wait, no, it's not a bad thing.
-
It's not about the airframe, even if the Iranian AF could fly more than 7 or so at any given moment. A skilled pilot flying a lesser aircraft can splash a superior plane with a lousy pilot.
-
And what Military's uniform do/did you wear? Well what every fanboy would wear when rocking an RC aircraft! Either http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=201319&catid=185848 or http://www.beyondhollywood.com/uploads/2010/07/comic-con-nerds.jpg But the Shah F-14 and F/A-18 connections are just funky. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_cvdgPlEKW9k/TMTeAqi9MzI/AAAAAAAABe8/SiEb_yyks0M/s1600/Shah_Nixon.jpg Iran still flies F-14's...not sure what you would call an F-14 powered by Rusky motors.... But who cares they wouldn't stand a chance vs a modern F/A-18. That aircraft is just amazingly smart and well thought out. 1. Do you really think that the 14s are still airworthy? You do know that the only original part on a 20yo+ aircraft is likely the bare frame? With the embargo, I doubt they are safe to fly, much less in combat. 2. Do you also really think Iranian pilots even approach the level of proficiency of American or European pilots??
