UK: Preacher arrested for saying homosexuality is a sin
Shotgun replied to JohnRich's topic in Speakers Corner
Normally, I would. But since I just got my computer back after a few days of downtime from some nasty spyware stuff, I'm not feeling like visiting a bunch of random websites at the moment. To my knowledge, the Bible does not address what I asked about, but I believe that Ron knows much more about it than I do. Several people were talking about certain kinds of sex being sin. I was curious (regarding Ron's understanding of the Bible) if that (my question) is also considered sin. It wasn't a loaded question, and it wasn't directed at you. But feel free to give an answer if you want to. -
UK: Preacher arrested for saying homosexuality is a sin
Shotgun replied to JohnRich's topic in Speakers Corner
From the standpoint of sin, it is not. Sin is sin, see my post to billvon above. Just curious (honest question)... Does the Bible say anything about age requirements for marriage? Would it be a sin for a 30-year-old man to marry (and then have sex with) a 10-year-old girl? -
Your point is understood, but I'm not sure where you're going with it. What's the danger in a blind man having a lockpick set? Further, what's the danger in allowing a blind man to own a car? It's not the owning of the car that is dangerous. And the same with a non-pilot owning a plane. Is it required to have a driver's license to own a car? Or a pilot's license to own a plane? I don't think it is.

Hmm..... I think that depends on your definition of "smart."

I thought you were going to RickRoll me, but that was even better. I think I broke my long-standing rule of not reading the comments after being a juror on a two-month trial recently. When I was done, I was so curious to read all of the news about the trial that I even read all of the comments in the news stories. Wow, talk about some misinformed BS.

What's your opinion on the "female vote thing"?
-
I thought you were much nicer here than in person! Well, it's sort of difficult to hit you with a flogger via this website. And Bill will get on to me if I start calling you names on here, and we wouldn't want that.

If Turtlespeed left Bonfire, would it be better?
Shotgun replied to turtlespeed's topic in The Bonfire
What would we do without turtle soup??? -
My usual grill menu is: chicken breasts (marinated overnight in soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard), and veggies (tomato, onion, corn on the cob, and zucchini) - each drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with salt, and then wrapped in foil before putting on the grill.

Well, thank you for the compliment, even if it wasn't really mine.

I'm never sarcastic.

Agreed. STRONGLY agreed. Well, it's good to see that we have some fashionistas in the SC crowd.
-
Agreed but I don't think it's her. What, you don't think I'd have a Bible verse tattooed on my ass??? (Yes, it's not me.) I'm just wondering if it's a turn-on or a turn-off for a guy who might be looking at it? Or would most guys just block it out and focus on the naked woman?

Here ya go... But a pic of Sunny's boobies would be a lot better.

I've seen people get nasty in here, but it seems to me like it's even worse in the comments section of the news I read (but I usually don't read them). I guess the worst people on here end up getting banned, plus I quickly learn whose posts to skip over when I'm reading this forum. I'm guilty myself of sometimes being a little less nice on here than I am in person. But I try not to do that.

You conservatives have a strange idea of what flip flops are.

I usually try to avoid reading the comments at the end of news stories, but sometimes I get sucked into it for some reason. Man, there is always so much hate and ignorance and general crap in those posts. Makes Speaker's Corner look good. From what I was reading today: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ynews/ynews_ts2627;_ylt=AiT88ES5QnuIuB6YI1rR0ji9F4l4;_ylu=X3oDMTM0NWZpYmZ0BGFzc2V0A3luZXdzLzIwMTAwNjE2L3luZXdzX3RzMjYyNwRjY29kZQNtb3N0cG9wdWxhcgRjcG9zAzMEcG9zAzMEc2VjA3luX3RvcF9zdG9yaWVzBHNsawNvdXRsb29rZ2F5bWE- OK, I'll stop reading them now. At least I resisted any temptation to reply. I guess those comment sections are a little more anonymous than this forum, and that seems to bring out the worst in people.

What is up with THAT???? At first, I thought Remi had p-shopped the picture.

I was thinking more along the lines of keeping companies from selling catnip advertised as "marijuana," or "pure cocaine" that is actually cut with whatever the street dealers currently cut their drugs with. (And I will admit to being stumped when it comes to the harder drugs. I do feel that they should be legal, but not necessarily easily available. And I have no idea how that would work.) And sorry, I didn't mean to hijack this goofy with a drug discussion.

Would you prefer if the FDA stopped approving pharmaceuticals and allow corporations to market anything they like? I'm not sure exactly how it would work to legalize drugs. There would still need to be some regulations (as with the alcohol and tobacco industries). I would think that the FDA's part would be to provide facts (including warnings) about the drug, so that people can make informed decisions about using. And also, the FDA should be ensuring that what the corporations are marketing is actually what they say it is.

It was a 4.4 near Borrego Springs. I think skyrider linked the wrong one. I felt a fairly weak jolt here in Murrieta.
